Going to a pump is a lot less hassle it seems. I look and see a green label  when i open the cover, I have mental health and memory problems. so how will i rememeber all this info and how i charged up the car last time..

It’s the same with mobile phones and sometimes they just bad batteries from the start, I had one on my golf mk7 after a few months of having the car it had to be replaced by the Rac. In many years of driving on the scheme thats the only thing that has left me stranded a faulty battery.

I was meant to get mine on this one, The dealer even made the plates up, which they gave me. Then The cyber attack happened and messed them up, so i gotta ring Mb Tommorrow to see if they got the v5 for the car yet.

If they do we can do it. although it may have to wait until after the 15th and we call euro disney and decide if we still going in late august or not. If we is going still it will have to be after we come back as i need to get an emissions sticker to drive in paris. which costs just over 3 euros plus postage and lasts till forever unlike londons scheme at £15 a day.. I know we exempt but goes to show how it’s a cash cow and this is rip off britain. But you need a copy of the v5 to get one, so if i put the plate on i’ll have to wait again for the new V5. to arrive.

This is where one needs to go threw the specs of any trim yourself very carefully with a toothcombe and even build the certain model online in some cases to see what comes on it as standard or not on certain trim levels asgainst others, all dealers don’t know everything that’s forsure.

For example i was looking at a 2.ol corrolla when i visited my local dealer they only had a 1.8l.. This was when it was newly out (last summer) and they knew no differences between the 2 engines. Infact there are a few the main one on the 2.ol the battery it is in the boot.

I happened to be looking at cars in closest big town as missus and her sister and the kids had free cinema tickets. popped into toyota they had a 2.0l in the showroom and the battery was in the boot on the 2.0l so is tiny, a lot smaller than on the 1.8l. So was not for me. Imagine if i had ordered one after seeing the 1.8l.. Just as well as was not real mention of the small boot anywhere.

So i get your dissappointment totally and is why you gotta check the specs and not trust the sales person to know everything about each model as they don’t. Saves this from happenening.

I just picked up my car and the sales manager dealt with me and he needed asked for the pin to complete the order. so i dunno how yours didn’t or already had it..

Well liking my new car and the fact in has no start system stop is awesome, as often just as you about to pull away from a junction it cutsout..

Hi Rox, Yes my car is worth more than the AP and I’m getting the rest back as cash so don’t worry I haven’t been fleeced. Got a decent price for my current car, within the ranges given by independent online values and good ol’ “we buy” and also negotiated over the factory fitted extra. I’m happy and expect they are too

Cool just thought it was worth pointing out. H8 anyone to get fleeced. Especailly those with a family like myself.

I been in diesels for the last 9 years and went petrol this time, sometimes there are offers by dealers as you’ve extended maybe worthwhile to keep looking and wait till something comes along, although being in NI probally limits those deals abit.

It’s one of the reasons i went with a lower car last time and this time and what i really like is how they drive over a suv or mpv.

I also have bad back and leg problems only i’m only 6ft2 but my legs are long and some cars are better than others for swinging them into after I’ve sat on the seat. Some i have to bend them to much to get them in and that really hurts my back to much. Pretty much every car is not easy to get into for me anymore but some are worse than others but it saves money on the ap as alot of lower cars have a  lower ap than an suv with the same specs.

But it is a personal choice and I like a newer mode, but at the end of the day gotta think of the overall budget and sometimes something has to give to get all the things i want like adaptive cruise and after getting the golf after a grand c4 i quite enjoyed driving again with less body roll, which also effects my back the less side to side movement is preffered now as well and some are better for us taller folk. Maybe worth checking a few out that in your ap price range and that the specs are what you need and see.. Having more options is alway better.

It’s going to be interesting to find out what accessories have to be approved when they phone me. It indicates that any have to be approved so phone holder, 12v adapter, floor mats… air freshener? I knew they wouldn’t allow a hard wired dash cam as I asked them a while ago but even if you plug one in the 12v socket it would need approving.

No way you must be miss reading the terms of the agrreement, if you plug something into to 12v socket that was factory fitted then that item is not covered under the insurance and if it got lost, broken or stolen it would not be covered by rsa.. where as the 12v socket is.

If the 12v socket breaks it will be replaced at the dealers. probally under warranty, if you was to retro fit another 12v socket or usb or dash cam that would not be covered by rsa.. But i can plug my mobile into the 12v socket and use it as a camera or connect a dash cam to it, but nothing belonging to us in the car except us physically is covered for loss or damage.

Only in NI £150 off, guess maybe you’ll have to ring a few dealers up as you know what you want you can always ask and see if they will do anything towards the Ap. if not try the next one on the list.

Probably right rox. Seems a bit off hiking the price of a car that isn’t even built yet, let alone available for viewing or test drives. Looks like they’ve changed the heating control from nice physical dials to sliders which won’t go down too well in most quarters, I reckon. The price hike has put it out of my reach anyhow.

True i had a golf till a week last monday and on the golf 8 they got the sliders now big mistake imo, just got a honda civic and they had a model refresh for 2020 and put the climate buttons back and now has a volume knob. They’ve listen to the customers..

Loving the honda sport, The tig is just too big for me day to day and the Ap is crazy even before i looked to order back in jan. Did look at a t-roc the 190tsi sel but even thats gone up £600 i think and way to much stuff on it are add ons.. not as standard like on the tig you get more as standard.

Only downside to seat is it’s 2nd gen tech compared to the vw, but all in all are cheaper and you get lots on highest trim level..

Is it you need something higher or the boot size or both in a car, i used to be in higher cars but last two been lower and with my long legs are actually easier and better for me to get into.

It depends how busy the Antwerpeen ring road is.. Or if it’s getting the tunnel or ferry and from where to where across the water..

Post normally is 3 days from belgium. Guess cars are the same it will be sent somewhere with others to be collected, to then be sent to another place, where it will be then, sent to the local dealer.

How much is you current car worth being on a 66 plate seems like it could be worth more than the Ap surely and a bad trade if that’s the case, hope i’m wrong on that, but i know car dealers. I used to have 3 kids all 5 years apart so know what they like them fighting all The time.

It will take a min of 7 days before you in the car i would think. but it does dright now also depend on how long it takes for your application to be processed and for you to recieve the pin threw the post.

I had heard from some you cannot get any from stock anymore so maybe it’s the new refreshed r -line version that’s coming, was video on here the other day.

Only a vw dealer could answer that one right now. But if it was the old one it could be less desirable hence the increse in ap.

Adaptive cruise comes on no trim levels and only as part of a driving pack, when you look at the car specs and build them so that is the problem you cannot add those packs so i have heard but i did not even both calling to ask they was off my list as they was to much with that and the ap they wanted..

Yeah never search using small / medium / suv etc options or the engine size in the advanced search all the other options seem to work just not those ones. It imo is better to select a dealer then a model and deselect  manual if you want an auto then you get the full list of cars available.

had a mid April handover date but they are telling me car was not with them before lockdown and they don’t know where it is now it’s a c5 aircross flair plus was £695 ap now £1295.

Surely they know or can findout where a car is in the system, it cannot be lost it has a chasis number. I am assuming it was made as it must of been to be there for mid april handover.

It’s been over a month since they opened, So how long do they need to find it. I had issues with getting mine but it was at the dealers, it was because of the cyber attack on honda, Mb were very helpful and the dealer could not help either although they tried and only the managers were in as well.

i’d give them a call again on monday and if you get no joy give Mb a call and they can then call the dealer for you and findout what is actually going on, as they the ones buying the car from citreon not the dealer.

Rsa or mb don’t cover anything we the leasee have in the car either and at the end of the day thats what we are the leasee. We rent the car, Pretty much like if you rented a house. Just over a longer term. You never own one bit of the car or house over the term.. Someone else does it’s their property or goods.. Their permission is needed for any changes.

72 dudes  is correct also if 3rd party adaptions are needed they also need fitting before you collect the vehicle and enter you pin, for them to be covered by rsa and anything done to the vehicle needs the owners permission thereafter. Which Mb are highly unlikely to give in most cases and their permission is needed or your breaking the terms of the agreement you signed and one could be terminated from the scheme if you  had the car re-mapped and blew up the engine or transmission because of it.

Some it seems think they own the vehicle for 3 years, Then they give it back to MB that is not the case.

MB own it and as such under law it is their asset and i reckon the buyers at the end of the lease ie, the car trade at the end off the day they want the badges on. I’m ok with that.

They don’t mind you paying for extra’s as long as It adds to the value of the car when you give it back and they then sell it, but if it has the chance to devalue it thats another story. As that could effect the starting AP which is based on the 3 year value. Some cars with certain packs from what i have heard are not as desireable to the 2nd hand car buyer so those options MB may not permit one to have fitted on certain makes or models thats upto them. The providing dealer should be well aware of that at time of ordering , after all he is the agent in the contract between all parties.

It is the way it is and there is no point trying to ask for something they don’t allow outside of those terms setout in the agreement, that we have to agree to, too be part of the scheme. If one doesn’t agree which you do not have to agree to, then the scheme is not for you.. don’t sign the agreement, That’s contract law.

Myself, i never add extras, i find a car that has what i need as standard, up to a certain AP I can afford.

Just into my 4th car now on the scheme not had any issues because i understand the terms and that i don’t own the car.. IMO, what wanting to take the badges off  has to do with ones mobility issue, i don’t know but understanding the terms of the agreement is the most important part.. It not about yours or my personal views or what one would like to do it. It’s not my or your car, it’s what the owners allow and they don’t allow it.

Guess it depends on  what actual car it is and the date they told you it would be ready for exchange in the 1st place.

I ordered mein in mid jan for mid april pickup, The car was at the dealers before lockdown and i picked it up a 2 weeks ago this monday. Maybe worth calling and speaking to Mb. Unless you not in england most dealers have been open since the 1st  of june and most cars have been able to be handed over from the 9th of june.

The 182bhp honda civic i just got is fast enough imo all from a 1.5l and vw get 150 bhp from a 1.5l and 190bhp from a 2.0l tsi the rav 4 is 219 BHP

I was telling a friend yesterday as he was time trialing cars on gran turismo it’s not all about bhp it’s also about the power to weight ratio as higher bhp cars couldn’t beat some laps lower bhp cars had set.

He has ocd and was doing them in order of  low to high bhp you see. So that plays apart as well and it’s also to do with the insurance costs and keeping them in check.

I cannot afford more than £25 a amonth toward the ap or it’s just not justifiable for me or my missus. if some can then thats ok for them that nothing to do with me, but for me it’s a waste of my money.

The PIP rates are not set by the DWP so complaining there would be futile. The government sets the rates so you could complain to your MP but that would just get you a “I sympathise with you, isn’t it terrible” blah, blah, blah letter and Joe public think you should be grateful for what you got because he/she works hard to pay for your car. Sorry but that’s how I see things.

Indeed but what is national insurance for then, clearly it’s not insurance against I’ll health and a lack of mobility etc. It’s their fault if they didn’t cover the citizens for loss after taking a cut for it..

I’d also say i’d exchange my condition for not having the condition anyday or second if i could and i have had problems since i was 9 years old and run over by a car on a green man crossing the road before anyone suggests it was my fault and i hope they don’t happen to end up with a condition, One day, Like mein and many others in society that have issues that are debilitating.

My point was though whoever sets it it’s not keeping up with real inflation. it’s set by a different index.

For me I can handle a fluctuation of maybe a couple £100 or so. Things change pound goes down something somewhere causes something else to get more expensive etc, etc. But when prices are changing by the thousands over a three month period it does seem to be outside the normal realm of economics.

Thats when you have to select other options over that car that you set your sights on getting.. or pay the extra or try and arrange a deal with dealer, so you can get that specific car.

The car i just picked up i test drove back in sep 2019 and I could not order till jan (as i was sick of doing winter test drives) it went up £600 in the two quarters from £999 to £1599, which i just could not afford the ap on, it’s was above my top end for an ap.

If the dealer had not given me the £200, off the ap, i would of had to walk and not order the car and get something else. I do agrree some changes are crazy but thats the actual value of them in 3 years thats getting less and less right now. So the ap is more and more..

Naw i’d change it as if you get pip or dla you paying the same amount for a 3 year old cars as you would be a new car, Unless there’s nothing for you affordable or the ap is to high and you cannot get help with a grant.

but i personally would’nt  go with the cla. just on the ap alone i cannot justify it..

There’s nothing to say Ap prices won’t be higher in 2 years time.. or it will be on the scheme.

CLA premium which was 2949 and now its 3,600 is crazy

I bet it has no adaptive cruise as standard it’s part of a driving pack at another 1k+

I Just paid £1399 for the honda civic sport, Pretty awesome to drive. I do like the cla but the ap is just to high for me even to consider it.

if i did spend such a high ap on a leased car, i would extend my deal and maybe consider buying it after 3 years.

as mitch says you could extend and as soon as you see a good dealer discount deal and pounce on it.

Often something has to give to get what you need and for me the last 2 cars have been lower 1st 2 on scheme was higher but as i have long legs some higher ones are just as bad for me to get into as well.

so it is one thing worth seeing if you can compromise on.. Plus the missus would go mad as we could all go on a holiday with the difference, So that i have to consider as well..

One size doesn’t fit all as many have said and imo the economics of it, is the biggest problem.

if Mb ordered all the car’s on the 1st of jan for the 1st of april delivery with each car maker it could work..

but then you’d have to wait till that time came around again to get onto the scheme. So each car is bought individually for that reason I guess.

Personally i’ve had 4 cars on the scheme now and each one i have added no extras at all and i have got what was important to me and on some cars certain things where added xtras so was not an option for me. like having adaptive cruise control.. overall i have been very happy with cars i have got on the scheme.

This time I went again with the ones options i wanted did come as standard, which also ticked my other options like being an automatic, having comfortable seats and is big enough for the family etc etc and day to day living.

I had to pay an Ap which was alot for me to pay but i accept that and plan for it. I could of got the same model car that was cheaper and would of been ok but i decided to go with the more expensive option as i wanted more power as well over the cheaper option, on my last 3 cars i have gone with the cheaper slower  more mpg options and now i want a change… for my own reasons and for my son who not here anymore.

The more that is on a car the more it costs. Take for instance all the tech, it also needs code written to operate it and because of eu competition laws i read vw are having trouble with the flagship id car project as they cannot co-op with bmw etc in creating a shared operating system.

There is the hidden cost of r&d to consider as well. The vw / audi cars get the tech first and thus cost more than the 2nd gen tech goes on the seat and skoda.

Plus with a fleet you know what you want 10 of those 5 of those and 40 of them please. were Mb don’t actually know how many or when they will be ordered by us the leaser. I do believe there is something for everyone on the scheme to get them mobile, but maybe only a few choices if you require certain things above and beyond because of you condition, then you apply for a grant. if you want more toys then No. as just as something makes life easier is don’t mean it’s necssesary like a rear camera thats why on a van you have wing mirrors.. rear parking sensors yes a camera no.. Got one on the current car and it ain’t that good to tell you the truth. not a deal breaker for me. For some it might not be car but a van type or a wav is what they need over a car or suv mpv etc..and then you limited even more. so I dunno what the right term is but a car of the level that one could be acustomed to or aspire to be acustomed to is not always possible on the scheme and nor should it be imo.

                                                  If things change
Lots of our customers experience changes in their condition, both improvements and deterioration, which can mean that your mobility requirements change during the course of your lease. You have agreed to lease your Motability Scheme car for the full length of the agreement, however, we understand that sometimes things change and, if that’s the case, we will try to support you as much as possible.
                                                  Reasons for ending your agreement
If there is a valid reason for cancelling your agreement, for example, if your mobility needs have changed and the car is no longer suitable, please call our Customer Services team on 0300 456 4566 . If you do cancel, there will be an administration fee to cover our costs. Once you have returned your vehicle any Advance Payment you have paid may be refunded to you on a pro-rata basis. You may also be eligible for a pro-rata Good Condition Bonus payment. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your needs. If however, we cancel your agreement because you have failed to comply with the terms and conditions of your agreement , no refunds will be made to you, and you will be charged an administration fee.

Please be aware that your eligibility for the Motability Scheme may be affected if you cancel your agreement more than three times in any seven year period. Our priority is to make sure you make the right choice first time; all our dealers have trained Motability Scheme specialists on hand to discuss customers’ needs and preferences, and are there to help you select the right vehicle.

If your allowance ends during your lease
If your allowance ends during your lease, you will no longer be eligible for the Motability scheme and we will support you through the process of handing your car back. You may be eligible for a £1000 stopped allowance support payment if your return the car in a good condition to your dealer within our given timescales. Depending on your individual situation you will have up to eight weeks from your allowance payments ending to return the car. If you receive a stopped allowance support payment, you will not be eligible for a pro-rata Good Condition Bonus, but any Advance Payment you have paid will be returned to you on a pro-rata basis.

If your allowance ends following a DLA-PIP reassessment there is a transition support package available, including a financial element.

If your allowance ends we will write to you giving you all the information you need, including details of any support payments you are entitled to. Please call us on 0345 155 6011 to discuss this.

All we can do is order what you can at the time you can and hopefully it’ll be sooner than you think it will be and you’ll be in it.

In your case it’s not been the best of situations or experience, having to wait until the 1st and is a shame you was messed about with the tig that was not available and lost out on the one that was ordered.

Truth is though the £600 would of been off Q3 prices as the order would not be placed until the 1st of july, considering the risesi don’t think jct would of footed the differnece.

Sometimes life throws curved balls and we just gotta make the best of it.. well done smart choice imo look forward to see the pics
