I’ve managed to get the app installed and set on face recognition. At face value it looks pretty self explanatory, although you would need more than a minute to go through it, but I was wondering if any one had noticed or came across any problems I should be aware of.
The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.

Thanks both. It does indeed sound like an issue with the interface between iOS and the car, although admittedly Amazon Music isn’t great. I only have it as it’s free with Amazon Prime 😂 . I just looked to see if I could connect the phone to the USB socket, but it’s a different type of USB socket to the type that charges the phone.
I admit that I’ve not tried to hard to understand the world of digital music, so it’s all a bit bewildering to me, hence my yearning for an in-car CD player. I’m sure that there are millions of older drivers in the same boat. Nowadays it’s digital or nothing, which would be fine if it was dead easy and worked every time 🙄

I forgot Apple were beyind the curve with slower USB lightning cables and needed a kick up the ass from the EU, but it may just pay off and save the headache if you spend a couple of quid annd get a USB C lightning cable or whatever they are 🙂

If you still have an iPhone with lighting connector, it may be time to upgrade to a decent Android boat anyway. 😉 😛
Not that this fixes all issues, but in this case i do believe it would fix that particular one. So far, i don’t think i’ve had an issue with any car and Android Auto, including the cars i’ve test driven (i always connect to see how “my” music sounds).
Of course not viable if your entire ecosystem is built on Apple (mac etc), but if not, may be worth looking into. Decent phones can be had relatively cheap (Pixels, Oneplus’ etc).

Try a new cable, that fits first. Failing that, get your daughter to download some albums on a USB stick – problem aborted 😂

Yeah in that case, probably not a great solution. Technically the easiest option is a USB stick with music, run it through the media output. Potentially cheaper than buying a new car with CD player, too. 😛

Yeah, agree. If push comes to shove, push some music onto a good ol fashioned stick (i don’t even have USB sticks anymore, just SSD thumbdrives lol), and put a lid on it.

Thats good.
The other option that should work with Amazon music through Car Play, rather than through Hyundai’s version is a USB C to Lightning cable, as shown from Apple, but cheaper on Amazon.

August 11, 2025 at 6:48 am #311088Thanks @kezo I’ve ordered a USB-C to Lightening cable and will see if a wired connection resolves the issue.
August 11, 2025 at 10:59 am #311093Also the latest software update means the buttons for the passenger seat heating and ventilation often dissappear from the climate screen.
Have you been in to see about this issue @Rhodgie? Mines is in next Monday some folk saying on another forum it needs a new control unit.
August 11, 2025 at 11:05 am #311014You can pre-condition PHEVs too. Wouldn’t wanna miss getting into a cozy car in winter.
Not this one – It relies on the old fasioned way! No PTC heater, rather it starts the engine at high tickover – coolant runs past a bypass valve HEX in the exhaust which heats quickly and provides heat and engine shut off after 5-10m, Repeat.
How do you pre-cool it then?
Open the windows or again the old fashioned way of starting and select AC and come back 5 min later! If I think on, Ill show you the app, with most remote options in light grey/ non operable, even arse coolers aren’t availabe remotely.
Oof. 🙁

That’s how mine looks. Got so used to it, would not want to be without it.
Brydo, you drop to “plus” after 6 months, which then is going to last for 3 years. Which, imho, is good enough – Pro really doesn’t offer anything of value, while costing more than 3 times more than plus.
edit: for clarity, i’ve sent this post 3 days or so ago, had a critical error when sending, appeared double now. Not quite sure what’s going on with me browser.

August 11, 2025 at 11:52 am #311102@KamKam no not been near the garage to go in but it’s well known about on the owners forum and one of the guys there has been in touch with Hyundai to make them aware of it.
Very unlikely it’ll require a new control unit as opposed to a software update as it only occurred after the latest update 🤞
August 11, 2025 at 12:44 pm #311103Yeah don’t fancy that. I’ll let you know what the dealership says when it goes in.

The thread has widened to include other models in the range 🙂

Can you confirm, yours has autamatically switched to “Plus” or like mine reverted to “Lite”?
October 3, 2025 at 10:47 am #314896@kezo I had the same email. I’ve just checked and mine has also reverted to Lite. The email is contradictory. On the one hand it says we will revert to Plus automatically, but later it suggests we need to select a new subscription but won’t be charged. I’ve just tried to do the latter but it says I have no linked vehicle, even though I’m accessing the Bluelink store from the account for my vehicle. Typical Hyundai Bluelink cr@p. What do we lose with light? Not sure I can be a#sed to contact them, given they couldn’t even understand the fact that EV range was often displaying in km when the settings were set for miles.

The main thing for me is live traffic!
I have emailed them and attached the email as a PDF, though I don’t expect it to be sorted today, which is a shame as visiting family later. Perhaps email them, on the assumption the more that do, the quicker it will be sorted.
October 3, 2025 at 2:44 pm #314948@kezo I’ve also emailed them, but I know from past experience that they are about as useful as a chocolate fire guard. Live traffic and Live speed cameras are important to me. The other Plus features I can live without. Let me know if you hear anything and I’ll do the same. If it wasn’t for the ruddy hoist, and the fact that there’s not a single car on the scheme at present that even remotely appeals to me, I’d be pretty close to seeking an early termination. I’m missing having a car that I enjoy driving.

Live traffic is what I’d miss mostly, as use Snooper for speed camera’s, but do like how Hyundai shows the average speed, when travelling on motorways, however I’m dead agains’t paying for a service, for what I believe should be standard on a car under 3 years old. More annoying, is none of this was mentioned at the time of ordering or taking delivery. Will let you know, but no no reply as of yet.
October 6, 2025 at 8:05 pm #315056I haven’t heard back from Hyundai yet (I’m not holding my breath) and the app is still showing that it’s running Bluelink Lite. However, I did a 350 mile round trip journey today and the live traffic was working fine on the Sat Nav, so I’m wondering if I actually do have Bluelink Plus 🤔

Live traffic isn’t working for me, as I checked when doing the monthly family visit and the app specifically says Lite. Not hear of them either.
