Hello car has gone in and failed the mot, they’ve sent me the list and price for work to be done asking for authorisation to go ahead
Do I just agree or should they be seeking authorisation from motability Thanks

October 1, 2025 at 1:01 pm #314619You are not allowed to authorise work yourself. Only Motability can do that. The dealer should know this!
October 1, 2025 at 1:04 pm #314620Thanks Gloss, I really can’t understand why they ask me, think I must ask motability..
October 1, 2025 at 1:07 pm #314622My Wife replied back stating it’s a motability car 🫨
October 1, 2025 at 1:13 pm #314624Wife, live chat motability atm
October 1, 2025 at 1:17 pm #314625I find it strange contacting me, I would’ve thought be like quick fit, when they phone there and then…
October 1, 2025 at 1:21 pm #314626@Gloss Guy motability has just confirmed your words also, Volvo should be contacting motability…
Tbh it’s this type of service from Volvo I’m moving away from, nothing but problems with anything to do with the staff, very unfortunate as I really love the products

October 1, 2025 at 4:11 pm #314640They are really going to town wit it, I’m suprised they ain’t told you to take it to QF for the tyres and wipers!
Oh and get QF MO?T it, which is where I take mine now.
October 1, 2025 at 4:21 pm #314641Kezo motability did contact me saying I could book it in at kwik fit, but I thought might as well make use of the collect/return service offered..
Tbh I was expecting strange behaviour today from Volvo, the one member of staff couldn’t even tie his laces up, and looked like he’d been on the p!ss for 3 days..
Im just going to sit back and leave them to it, might contact MG just to update and change collection date tomorrow, be interesting to see how it pans out..
October 1, 2025 at 4:29 pm #314642Did Volvo present a video, showing what they checked and failed?
October 1, 2025 at 4:33 pm #314644Yes, vid sent, along with how to pay/instalments asking for authorisation to go ahead..
October 1, 2025 at 4:39 pm #314647Should have gone KF, it would have been done and dusted, though I expect your car will be back later🤔
I’d give Motability a ring, ask for an update, as your due to collect your new car tomorrow and let them advise.
October 1, 2025 at 4:39 pm #314648Wheel alinement, inner front tyres, wiper blades oh and the puncture repair canister out of date..

October 1, 2025 at 4:42 pm #314651The guy who collected, left his car here..
October 1, 2025 at 5:01 pm #314652I can’t see any cord visable on that tyre and had a magnifing glass on it and a small slit in the tread of a tyre is generally not a cause for immediate failure during an MOT 🤔
MOT’s don’t specifically address the issue of outdated sealant, just as spare wheels are not covered in a test🤔
Makes me wonder, whether your wiper blades had cut’s slits or were worn!
Anyway, as suggested, I would get on the blower to Motability and query whats going on, as your picking up your new car tomorrow.
