EV’s – an apology.

When I first joined this forum, some might remember that I was pretty scathing of the EV phenomenon. I even seem to remember saying something along the lines of ‘over my dead body’ at one point. And as a 67 year old, that’s not far off!

Well, I need to apologise for my ignorance because three weeks into ownership of a Mini Countryman EV, I am a convert. Everything I had assumed would be a problem is anything but because once you get over the initial nervousness, it’s all so easy.

Which leads me onto what is possibly the biggest plus (after the saving on fuel) for me. It’s that my fabulous Mini has put fun back into driving. Not simply because it’s a fabulous car, which it is, but because it actively involves me in every journey. And as a lifelong fan of driving (and riding) I hadn’t realised how much I actually missed that.

      I’m in love.

      My Mini Countryman.

Current car: Mini Countryman EV in very shiny black!

Previous car: MG HS Exclusive in nice shiny black.

Barely any maintenance required on them either. I’m not a car person and know very little about the mechanic side of things. But all you need to maintain really is Brakes, tyres and washer fluid. Not to mention the very cheap run cost if you have a home charger.

I could never go back to an ICE now.

Good looking car, but there’s nothing very small about a mini these days is there?

The Mini Countryman in nice shiny black looks good 🙂

Whether you should be apologising is nother matter😂

              @dougieB

Its how many people feel after getting used to an EV

It does put the fun back into motoring.  My mileage has increased by 25% just because its good to drive a car that is unbelievably good.

It feels like your first car, keen to go out for a drive.

Once you get over the charging process away from home, its easy.

Am glad you are enjoying the car, it does make a positive difference.

No need to apologise for anything….we all surprise ourselves when we try something new.

I couldn’t imagine going back to an ICE since going EV.
