      Just a heads up,

I had my 2024my Enyaq software update to the version 5.4. Originally tgey booked it in for obe day, then rang me to extend that before the day to two days.

Provided us with a courtesy car for those two days.

Wife picked up the car and said it was binging and binging, but thought it was the car had been set back to standard.

      No such luck.

First issue was that the my skoda app was in private mode, easily sorted.

Next my 360 deg cameras are missing from the screen, so no cameras,

Also, no sat nav, and can’t connect to skoda shop to confirm Sat nav, cones up with “can’t connect to shop, login again” ( you do that through the app, so logged out and in, no difference)

Then temp is everything you go into tte car its set to low, even if you change it

Then the dreaded “traction battery issue”showing on tge screen

      Acc not working

      No heads up display

At least it charges correctly lol.

So, contacted the dealer, they have been having issues with the software update on many cars, so car has to go back in.

Unfortunately, with so many having issues, tgey are three weeks ahead in booking and no cars available

But he then said “oh yours is a mobility car, I will get them to arrange a car”

tonight,  I will get them to get you a car”

Tonight, a call from RAC Motability, to arrange a car from Europe car who will drop a car off at the dealership for me to collect when I take the Enyaq in for fixing

      Was surprised to be honest

But, just be aware, the update is not going very well and its so big it has to be done at the deakership

Indeed, the Facebook group has multiple posts about this, Elroq’s affected as well.  Some have been without cars for almost 2 months.  Dealers have no clue how to fix it and Skoda have so far been no help whatsoever.

I had thought of getting m5 85X updated to 4.1 so it would then get further updates over the air but have put that on hold until this mess is sorted out!.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Can’t they revert back to the last known workable software version, untill v5.4 is stable?

The good thing about bad software updates is that they can easily be fixed by another software update.

It will not take them long to sort it out.

The problem with over the air updates is really security. It has to be robust enough and resistant to hacking in todays World.

But, the problems are only temporary and will be fixed quickly.

It is correct if you’re a software company,  but Skoda are not,  therefore from my experience with many organisations of that type, software department normally is treated as surplus to the requirements and as a result,  when issue like this arises,  it takes lots of time to fix it- people have to be moved from other important fixes, etc.

That is quite a ridiculous statement.

Like every vehicle manufacturer they are heavily dependant on software controlled automation in building cars. Skoda will have a large team of software development development engineers integrated into the company. You may have worked in a couple of small scale enterprises with minimal IT i infrastructure.

What you are saying is Skoda only makes cars and no good at anything else?  that is the basis of your argument?

I did work in hardware and software development across many sectors.

The problem is that if the 5.4 update bricks the car (which it has done to quite a few)  it won’t accept another update overwrite.  Some cars are left with no OS.  Skoda, so far, have not been able to offer a fix.

One other thing to watch out for with the update is charging using Octopus IOG, a lot of users are reporting, with both Enyaq and Elroq, that after the first charge session the car then refuses to wake for the following sessions leaving users with a low charge.  Again Skoda say they are aware but no solution yet.

To be clear this 5.4 version software update is for “pre facelift” cars is that correct ?

My facelift 2025 Enyak is running 5.4 perfectly.

Prague-based IT holding Etnetera Group to accelerate Skoda’s digitalization strategy  in areas such as web portals, mobile applications, and vehicle software. The venture is between Skoda and an external entity.
