I can’t help but look at the prices to get a feel of which way they are heading. I am pretty sure I have seen some price changes, the MG4 seems to have dropped £200 or am I imagining that? Anyone else noticed a mid quarter price change?
Hydro-locking your car is a stupid thing to do.
@MickC are you going to make the leap of faith?!
I am tempted.
I did view the new Ford Explorer while it was on its nationwide tour at my local Ford dealer,i found getting into it far more difficult than my current 2021 Kuga, the raised floor made it more difficult, what would have made entry much easier is if Ford had put that innovative flip up steering wheel out of the new Transit into the Explorer.
I did’nt like the “akimbo” effect the higher floor had on my legs/knees.
Allowing for inflation from 1972 when the £10 Xmas bonus was brought in in todays money it would be £113.18
Working fine for me on my PC using Firefox browser.
My best friend got theirs today…£500.
Dont and wont pay for subscriptions to anything, all they are interested in is the cash in your pocket.
Even Youtube has been spoiled they have started with a premium channel that costs muney otherwise you have bleedin adverts.
Ive been in very close contact with one of the Cheeky Girls……Monica she let me hold her hand.
It’s gone like this. Maybe a familiar tale for some. Volvo XC40 lease up end of October. Start searching for replacement in July. Motability car search found wanting! Thought I’d extend. Read excellent @MFillingham thread on here and worked out costs of running electric. Realised that as a lease with ‘free’ home charger is was a winner. Tested Renault Megane, loved it, ordered it, had charger fitted. Due for lease end day 30th October. New quarter prices came out. Did what I thought I’d never do and cancelled Renault after testing Hyundai Ioniq 5. No stock issues, loads of colour choice (I liked them all bar black, which was still lovely but not great for muddy rural living). Had another test, took wife, got the thumbs up, went back to order. No cars, no stock anywhere, 9 months wait. You’d have thought they’d check that before me having their demo car for many hours! 🤬 Decided on drive home I really wanted this car, the V2L important for me as power cuts are common here and this can run the house essentials for a few days. Looked around. Found one (yes, just one! Now that I want one they’ve turned in to hen’s teeth) 150 miles away. Went to dealer, no negotiation as they knew I wanted it, signed up. At the dock, looks good for start of November. But….Black 🙄. No news by 5th, called, mid November now. No news 15th, called, December now. Bit annoyed, more at the lack of communication rather than the lack of car. Thought maybe they’d sold it and were palming me off seeing as stock so tight. Last week saw post on another thread from @David saying Bristol St Motors offering £750 off. Called, told not sure if I could have this deal (my branch is in Scotland therefore named differently), waited for call back in anticipation of having to advise them to locate their least favourable orafice and post my order there. But, no, not only can I have offer but car has arrived ‘early’.
Still got the wrapping on. Maybe Santa came early? Looks great, 320hp AWD, bit scared by that power. Like a born again biker getting a Fireblade. Off for my 300 round trip to collect on Wednesday, and then a 1200 mile trip next week to see my folks before Xmas. In an electric car! I’ve got a bit of a squeaky bum TBH. So, thanks to this forum, to MFillingham for generic electric car info, thanks to @kezo for charger info, and thanks to David for saving me £750, I’ll be stepping into the future, or maybe the Twilight Zone 😁. Now, I wonder if Amazon sell a Knight Rider red flashing light for the front? 🤔
Great story made me smile.
Hi, it’s the built in heater. It is a bit like a fan heater, so produces heat instantly hence it is quicker to defrost than on an ICE car.
Cheers for that info.
I think this is going to be my next choice of car.
Škoda Enyaq iV Sportline Plus 286PS Automatic
85 Sportline Plus 82kWh 210kW 4×4 AutoI have a few major concerns that I imagine will have to be raised as a complaint. In the meantime, can the combined wisdom of the forum members advise me on the procedure when you want the car looked after by another main dealer (not the supplying dealer). In this event, do you lose any access to courtesy cars. I will be taking it to a dealer over 60 miles away (supplying dealer is 25 miles away). I assume if the car packs up on my driveway and requires collecting, it would prove a problem if I change dealer? Basically, what are the disadvantages of changing dealer, or should I stick with an incompetent franchise and keep some benefits however small they will be.
You can take the car to which ever dealer you prefer, phone their service dept tell them the problem book a time and date and mention you are a Motability customer and you want a courtesy car.
If your car breaks down then its the RAC you contact.
@Gee dont worry you are well ahead of my other half who cannot set the time on a clock/radio.

If it was genuine, why were you the only one to get it, as has been said, I would be careful as to where this came from, maybe even give Motability a call in the morning and ask them and make them aware of it, as it certainly sounds like a scam and if only they had also mentioned the second world war being a factor, we could have known for sure.
Read the FIRST paragraph again there is a clue in there.
Yea Mick, I have read the first paragraph again and I am obviously missing the clue that you have noticed, so would you like to share your observation with me please. If they are sending him a letter because he is about to change his car, then why did the rest of us who are about to change our car not get the same letter.
My car is know up in April, but I have already ordered a car. But my original question was if/why was he the only one getting the letter, which I now know that there are others getting the badly written letter from Motability with way outdated excuses.
Its not a letter it is an Email
@Des is not the “only one” to recieve the email @solent60 received it a fortnite ago ….see #249336There is also a help page on the Motability website https://news.motability.co.uk/motoring/vehicle-supply-issues-and-delayed-orders-your-questions-answered/?_ga=2.24718456.370151781.1700646019-1395140458.1700646019
Maybe you’ve been excluded the badly written email because you have already ordered.

John what is the date when your lease ends ? Do Motability have your correct email ?
My lease ends 3rd May 2024 and i had the email on the 7th Nov 2023.
Here is a partial screenshot.

@Gee have you got manual or auto ?
I have lost count of the number of times i have had to press the OK button………thats a gripe.
Wish Ford had put the front seats out of the Focus rather than those out of a Transit….minor gripe.
Looks as though the Mustang Mach-E is no longer available on MB.
That confirms what i was told yesterday while having the Explorer Tour,i asked about the Mach E he said there were just 2 left in Ford stock.
Also Kuga Black Edition and Graphite are both finished.
Sat in the Mach E too while i was there and it was like being cupped in a giants hand… so comfy.
Most EV’s have their floorpans higher to accomondate the battery pack in the floor. This often give the imptression the seats are too low and your knees are hitting yu in the chin, with a lack of thigh support especially in the rear. How much this affects you depends on how tall you are. As others have said EV’s seem to be moving to stalk type gear selectors, to free up centre console space for a more airy vibe.
6 foot tall me……knees hitting you in the chin is very close to what i got in drivers seat (like adopt crash position in aeroplane when its going down) i need thigh support moreso in the right leg,the left leg can stretch out and foot can rest on large foot rest.
Is it the height from the floor or the lack of drop once inside of the car ? Gear selector on the stalk is on a few other BEVs as well, apparently so that the centre console and dash look a little clearer..
Yep its that lack of a drop on the inside…..made me feel uncomfortable.
The selector “rotary dial” in my Kuga is very slick , wish the same was in the Explorer.
I opened this expecting to see talk about this.
I had a cough for around 6 weeks this time last year,it came on around 1 to 2 weeks after i had my Flu and Covid jabs.I just took Benny Lynn at night to ease the weeeeeeeezin.
Had my flu and covid jabs this year near the end of Oct…..no cough
