All my journeys are short ones upto 3 miles at a time…..aircon always on low….windows always shut….and doing 3.2 miles kwh………..Skoda Enyak Sportline.
Wont be missed by me….never had a Chinese nor would i want a Chinese.
Wait untill the DWP unveil the “smart walk” app………….shush i should’nt be giving them idea’s.
The time will come when Motability is “means tested” just as the “grants” are now…….it will come when Labour are removed at the GE…………Farage is gunning for the Welfare budget.
It will hit probably the 25% who do the most mileage …..i’m guessing a little bit here but… high annual mileage is more likely linked to those in work travelling to their place of work.
April 23, 2026 at 9:33 am in reply to: Shake-up will help UK motorists without driveways to charge EVs #353970The pic in the newspaper article showing a person holding the cable and plug after it comes out of the gully……..where does that cable and plug go when not connected to a car ?..is it just left on the pavement ?
Ask a police man.
In the current climate that Tesla deal is very tempting. I think you’ll find that Motability approving courtesy cars is going to be very different going forward. Refused to give me one as the car wouldn’t be off the road for more than 5 days, but a taxi service would be available for essential travel only.
Thats strange because my neighbors car had broke down it was recovered to dealership withing a couple of hours Switch arrived at their home with a Jaecoo 7………..the car was fixed quickly and he was back driving it late the next day.

Do they own a “smart phone” now ?
They will effectively have 3 apps installed on their smart phone for future EV car use…a manufacturer App…an Ohme App if thats what gets installed…..and a utility company App.
The manufacturer App should be installed with the full help at the dealership, set the charge limit to 80%.
If an Ohme charger is installed just set the start time 12 midnite end time 05.00am (cheap rate)….with British Gas as my utility…and just charge the car as and when your cars battery drops to 60%.
Get them to watch YT videos.
I’m 72 in a month and i was just like them nervous as hell about all this “tech”.
Hi all, What is your opinion of the chr+ ? it seems to get good reviews and it seems well kitted out and a good looking vehicle with decent range. The AP doesn’t seem so bad either.

What are these “rewards” that you earn or is this just a carrot on a piece of string on a stick held infront of a donkey to make it walk….lol.
Switch wifi/bluetooth off in phone..does this hinder or help.
April 15, 2026 at 11:26 am in reply to: Switch Car Rental announces partnership with Motability Operations #353355@H.K_R my neighbour had an accident yesterday and within a few hours Switch rocked up to the home address with a Jaecoo Phev.
April 15, 2026 at 9:57 am in reply to: Switch Car Rental announces partnership with Motability Operations #353340How long do you get a “hire” car for ? is it for as long as needs be…say months while your car is being repaired or is there a limit…..and what happens when your hire car time is up.
I have just done this “Large” vehicle check on Motability…..i selected Large SUV and Nil advance payment
Answer….No cars found.
I had to go all the way upto £1500 Advance payment (which will have 20% VAT added in July) and the system came up with 1 vehicle the Jaecoo 7..you will need deep pockets to fuel that at current fuel prices.
Its a choice you are making and good luck to you,i like the idea of owning an vehicle at the end of the payment term.
There is one “rule” with HP….keep up the monthly payments or car gets repossessed you lose everything paid….seeing as your payments are based purely on you recieving PIP mobility…lets keep fingers crossed that nothing happens to those PIP payments….Timms is currently working on it and in two to three years a couple of very nastly PIP hating Parties will probably get elected at the next GE.
You can also unlock the car with the Skoda App on your phone…thats if its not in the locked car..lol.
For those who have’nt a clue how to change the battery or where the emergency key is.

An interesting fb post, posted across the usual Motability related fb groups by a Motability dealership sales manager who frequently has special offers on Motability scheme vehicles. This was posted today 31st March 26. Obviously details of this scheme are not known as yet, but it does suggest dealers may be starting to be pro-active in trying to ‘Hoover up’ disenfranchised or disillusioned former Motability scheme customers by designing some sort of scheme for such. Hopefully more dealerships will do likewwise for this potentially untapped market:
N.B I have no connection whatsoever to this dealership other than have posted up their frequent Motability Scheme offers in the usual thread.
@BigDave would you like to make the above into a thread all of its own,i like the idea and there could be more to add into this in the future,it would be a shame if this and future content got buried in this thread.April 2, 2026 at 9:19 am in reply to: Motability Compulsory Black Box – BBC N01 viewed News Article Today #350486As well as the black box, Motability has introduced recommendations that drivers take a break every hour and aim not to do more than six journeys a day. If that is exceeded, the driver will receive a red score, but it will not impact their lease.
The above has not been thought thru at all…its as if a “think tank” has thought it up.
EV drivers already have range anxiety…next will be “take a break” anxiety…and then “six journey” anxiety.
Good afternoon and welcome to today’s round-up from The Star, Sheffield team.
A Sheffield petrol station is shut today after running out of both petrol and diesel.
And with the fuel situation beginning to turn into a crisis, it’s not the only fuel court running dry near Drakehouse.
If you have evidence that you have been “duped” then contact Motability asap.
