@MickC If I’m reading that correctly, they installed a tethered unit (Ohme Home Pro) with an 8m cable, how will having another 8m cable sent help? you can’t plug it into the charger? Only into the Ohme ePod (which doesn’t lock it in place during charging).

Let me just clarify what happened. Maybe six weeks ago i got a brown carboard box sent from Ohme,it had a sticker on the side that said 8m Cable, never opened it. Today Jack came to install the charger, showed him the carboard box he looked at it and said i dont think that will have an “un-tethered” unit inside it,but its no problem i have some in my van,all you will need to do is phone Ohme and tell them they sent the wrong unit with tethered cable, and ask them to send you an 8m cable which i did and they said they would get one dispatched asap. Anyway job is finished and Jack was going to his next installation, about an hour after he left he phoned me and asked if i would look in the cardboard box,as he had just got to his next install and the same box size was waiting for him,he said they had opened it and there was just an 8m cable and starage bag inside…so i opened mine while Jack was till on the phone, and low and behold there was an 8m cable and blue storage bag in the box….no charger. If Jack had not got the un tethered chargers on his van me and the next customer would not have been able to do the installation. Did others who chose the 8m cable and un tethered charger experience the same or did you get a box delivered with the charger and cable inside.

So Ohme will be sending you another 8m cable, even though one came in a box about 6 weeks ago?

I’ll be like a dog with two cocks……which do i use first.

What is this “well known facebook page” that I don’t know about?🤣

Not a ‘well known facebook page’ but via ‘well known facebook groups‘. Simply use the search term ‘Motability’ in ‘facebook groups’ and request to join any relevant groups – there are a few nowadays often where dealers post Motability discounts and offers. Some groups are quite strict on members re-posting offers onto other websites and immediately ban them from the group, hence my being a somewhat relectant to identify named groups.

I got banned off that group, for just reposting a price list on here when Q2 prices were annouced, would love to get unbanned.

I sat in the red one on the country wide tour at the end of last year,it has some nice features.

When it comes on Motability who’s betting the AP’s will make your eye’s water.

@Kezo you were right about the year of manufacture,it was built late May 2023,showed me an official document in a personalised video.

He said that all the current applicable TSB will be sorted,if there are any during the PDi.

He has ordered new mats (i bet the originals were nicked).

The charging cable is in the boot, and the V2L is on the rear seat.

I got £250 knocked off as i asked them to match an offer that is currently on Motaclarity.

Not going to pick car up yet,i am going to try and eek it out to the end of the month, when the new Q3 prices might be out early….wink wink.

@mickc, Motability would never allow a dealership to push old models, or old MY as it would cost them money when they sell it on. Like yourself, I phoned Hyundai and asked if they had stock Ultimates, they did at another garage, but the manager said he would have to make sure the MY was the latest as MB would not approve it. Yes the car is still wrapped in protective film. Its not even been used as a showroom car.

                          Cheers @Ioniq for that info.

Will the supplying dealer know the build date (exactly) of the car i am getting.

I’m just worried in case they try and pull  fast one,i looked online and found that the old 305ps AWD version was still in production in 2022,and the 325ps AWD began production in Dec 2021.

I think i need to know what the car’s KWh is,its either 72.6   or 77.4.

It’s black round the windows, that is the protective stickers you can see.

I feel much better now you have said that @Jim thanks for telling me.

In the morning do you think i should ask for the MY of the car and pics or a video of all aspects of the car ?

I have to travel 130 miles to see the car in the flesh.

Dealer sent me a video of the car they want to supply me,i think its an old model, what do you think ?

In this screenshot the side body trim around the door windows looks like chrome/shiney,this was available on the early Ultimate models ,and on the later models the window surrounds are black.

And the MY23 vintage I5 is that likely to have the ICCU fault waiting to happen ?

Just to add my experience today with this – I spoke to a local dealer asking if they had any Ultimate spec in stock. He looked on his system and said there were none in the country. He then said if I did a factory order it would definitely be the MY25 model with possibility of a car in October, but probably December.

I did what you did last Wednesday asked a Hyundai dealer (not local to me) if they could find me an Ultimate AWD,he came back within an hour and said there are two a black and a white one at another dealership, which did i prefer, told him my choice, and within minutes he had all my details and the order was logged onto my Motability online account.

Badgered him by email today asking for an update…………this is what he said….. >

“Yes, I have sourced it and sent payment on Friday, I am waiting for confirmation they have received funds and then will arrange to send a transporter to collect it.

Soon as we get delivery sorted I will be in touch ASAP”

Anyone know if this is normal practice ?  ^^^^

                                            I have an update.

I tried my hardest to get a Mach E with the tech+ pack…but failed,i had an email this morning from a dealer saying he had located two one in space white and the other grabber blue…..neither are colours i could accept.

Another dealer said they had none with the Tech+ pack if i wanted a factory order it would be 9 months wait.

I phoned Ford customer services and spoke to them,as the Ford website which lets you check stock levels showed a Mach E in absolute black with tech+ was available,if i wanted i could put the car in my basket and bought it “online”, i asked customer services if they could tell me which dealer in the country had that car,he could’nt or would’nt divulge,so i gave up with the Mach E.

So last week i had sent an email to Allen Hyundai in Milton Keynes asking about the offer on the I5 Premium version which was available with a dealer discount do they have an I5 Ultimate,i got a short reply saying they did’nt have any offers for the I5 Ultimate 325 AWD.

After reading the happy ending to the Ioniq Saga thread,i thought i would give them another go in Milton Keynes but word my email differently….do you have an Ioniq 5 Ultimate 325 AWD in stock that i as a motability customer could have and pay the full £2899 AP.

Anyway they found one in the colour i wanted, and when i was asked for CRN number and DOB,i thought crikey its happening, with minutes my Mobility online account had been updated with Pin etc etc.

So i just wait now for the car to be moved to the MK dealership and i can arrange a visit to do the formalities,if it takes a few weeks i dont mind,i have got Charged EV fitting my Ohme box in the middle of the month,so fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

I did make compromises with myself as i said in a post earlier in this thread,i will have to live without a rear wiper on the rear window,i will have to live with the bright white/cream roof lining instead of black, and the strange centre minimalist centre console.

I will be stretching myself with the AP,but the Tech+ pack is only £500 more over and above the Select models £3495 AP its a great saving because retail Ford ask’s £3000 for the Tech+.

Just get the feeling that everyone gets i suppose do i jump in with both feet now or wait until Q3 hoping the AP will be diluted.

I need to sit in a Mustang Select version, only managed to sit in the higher spec version (which was nice)

The only difference inside is a different coloured stitching, the difference between the select and the premium is outside on the select you have Mat black trim and on the premium you have piano black and on the GT it’s body coloured and of course different wheels and battery sizes

An American old fella’s thoughts on the Mach E,his final summing up comment got me loling.

MickC I don’t know if you’d consider the outgoing Kuga PHEV but Ford are offering £2ooo off the AP. Have a look in @BigDave ‘s offers & casback thread, on the last page.

I saw that offer even before BigD put it on the forum,i check Allen Ford every day to see if they have a new offer.

But here is the problem its the seats in my current car are the same ones as those in the offer Kuga (old stock),and its those seats that i have become the problem they are very very firm and the seat bolster is really low and firm and my thigh is riding ontop of the bolster giving me an uncomfortable ride,i think back a couple of years and im sure i posted something along the lines that seats have come out of a Tranny.

Anyway its now surprise to me that Ford with the facelift to the Kuga have installed AGR designed seats which are much much better, some of the old stock which Ford have been moving on do come with the AGR seats which were a costed option £500 in the old model,so even if i found an old model Kuga Phev at Allen Ford Offers i would still have to pay the extra £500.

The new model Kuga Phev has an AP over £6k in its first showing in Q2,if i wait until Q3 it might drop,it would have to be a big drop to get my attention tho.

Take a breath, stand back from the search for a while and then start again. List your essential needs, then any needs you could compromise on and finally any features you would like but don’t need. Then go through all the options, all the cars listed. Compare spec to your list. Which ones are best fitting? Look at several YouTube reviews of them, try the same reviewer if you can but definitely several reviews per car. If you want to look at user feedback, remember you’ll see all the gripes and only a few positive posts, it’s human nature and, therefore you’ll see a worst case view. Then test drive them, ask about delivery times and make your decision. Then forget about it!!!! The worst thing to do is continue your research, there’s too many choices between good cars, the differences aren’t that big and you could really be happy with any of about a dozen EVs on the scheme.

Sound advice, ive got to compromise on some of the specs that my heart is insisting on.
