      Happy new year everyone.

Does anyone know (or have experience of) if Skoda charge for metallic paint.

I’m on 5th MB car and all of them allowed the upgrade free. Only charge for premium colours, and then only the difference between premium and metallic.

Ordering next car in 3 weeks and dealer who I’ve spoken to says the £680  additional cost is chargeable.

Is this a dealer, manufacturer or MB thing?

The only paint you will be charged for at Skoda is the exclusive Velvet Red,i have Velvet Red on my car its an option for the Sportline i was charged the cost difference …not the full price.

I believe that’s standard policy for ŠKODA and VW. ŠKODA make you pay the extra difference for the Velvet Red and Phoenix Orange where available. Same goes for the Kings Red and Oryx Mother of Pearl White. I had the argument to the guy at our local ŠKODA dealer that metallic paint is a non cost option on most ŠKODAs now, and Motability would still pay that for a colour if it wasn’t standard. He wouldn’t budge. I went elsewhere (Mon Motors Weston) and plumped for a Moon White Kamiq Monte Carlo Edition.

I saw post on FB forum for Enyaq and person said paid for metallic. It’s possible it was the red so called Skoda, Bury who I’m seeing next week and spoke to salesman but not motability guy who said metallic is £680.I think there’s been crossed wires, lack of knowledge after reading replies.

Hope so anyway, as really like the matte grey which is same price as metallic.
