I was in a very similar situation. We got our choices down to Ioniq 5 Ultimate and the Mustang. Test drove the Mustang we realised it was the only car for us. It’s a great car to drive. Nice to look at and the tech packs ia an extra £500. Yes, it’s pricey but you only live once

I need to sit in a Mustang Select version, only managed to sit in the higher spec version (which was nice)

Mick the Ioniq 6 ultimate is on the scheme £3649 Any reason you want AWD? Peugeot e308 Renault Megane/Scenic Kia EV6

My current car is AWD and it has been a great help in getting me up the steep hills where i live when the white stuff is on the ground.

          <p style=”text-align: left;”>Ioniq 6 comes in 2 trims, Premium and Ultimate.</p>

What i meant to say was it only comes with the 228ps motor, wish the 6  AWD was on the scheme same as the 5.

Premium, £549 AP and I think I’m getting about the same back from the Pug as it’s going back early. Only done 46 miles so far but I’m massively impressed that the range on the dash matches the exact miles I’ve driven today. Peugeot was really poor at keeping range, even in eco mode. Off to Anglesey with the lad tomorrow and York on Thursday for the train museum, couple of nice long trips to bed it in and try to get used to the screens!

Straight into enjoying the car thats what its all about.

I do like the I5 myself, did you go in with an open mind on colour or were you colour specific ? was it a large dealership that helped you out ?

Definitely worth talking to multiple garages. I’ve just done a mid contract change, school run is 72 miles daily (car is from my sons DLA) our Peugeot e208 was struggling with its range, so I asked to change to a car with ~300 miles. First Hyundai dealership ‘had a look’ on the computer and said it would be a new build for an Ioniq 5, November or December delivery. Went to another Hyundai garage a few days later, they found three in stock, I’ve just picked it up today, it’s taken less than four weeks to get the car and that includes their Mota guy having a weeks holiday!

                Good news.

What model I5 did you go for “premium” “ultimate” ?

Motability will not purchase a pre registered car as it makes no commercial sense to them. It would simply cost them more than a brand new car plus with an extra owner on the log book.

I get all that, but they need to put “us” first rather than themselves, they should have a way of  “us” having direct contact with a small team dedicated to checking the merits of each individuals request for a Pre Reg car.

This car i was interested in was 10k below retail cost.

Its at the Green Paper stage, just think tank propaganda by the Tories.

By the 30th May it will be chucked in the dustbin when the current Parliament dissolves.

I’m confident that it wont happen.

If they are already on their way crossing as per the HC then yes i do give them time to cross.

I get annoyed if they look and are still on the pavement and see you indicating to turn and then still walk into the road that does annoy me.

Also teenagers in groups think they own the tarmac just lark about and saunter across and generally dont give a monkeys.

@Solymar its partly to do with the issue’s that are rearing their heads, delivery times and software problems.

thanks for that info i can use that as a yardstick. I cancelled this morning at 11am and nothing has changed on my online account.

I will give Motability a call in the morning.

looks like you have waited going on for 6 months, that could be the benchmark for people like me going forward 6 months or more waiting.

Others in this thread  considering Ioniq 5 i am too now,but i would want the facelifted version with the rear wiper, and that would involve a long wait.

Ohme delivered me the charger and cable today, without sending any notification that it was on its way,i was out and the delivery man left it with  a neighbour…..i did’nt want my neighbours to know i am getting an EV.

Still i could change my mind yet about the Enyak EV yet as its a long way off being built.

Seems strange that Motability are not pushing the grant application if it reduces their contribution ? I don’t trust anyone these days.
