Motability keeps surprising

My Skoda Enyaq went to the garage (again). This time for some software update. Sadly the dealer couldn’t complete it in one day and advised I shall book at least for two-three days.

I called Motability as usual to book a car with adaptation from Proximo and whilst waiting online, their recorded message kept playing they do not offer any replacement vehicle if the car in the garage for less than TWO days and they recommend to ask friends and family for a help.

Once answered, I was told that since July this year Motability sourced the courtesy vehicles to RAC and I should call them. RAC, including their shift manager, insisted that up to THREE days they do not issue vehicles. Then the manager went even further – because the vehicle goes into the garage for a type of a recall (software updates or upgrades they treat as a recall) I won’t be eligible even if the car would go for 30 days.

I couldn’t care less – I am OK with the old software, but it shows they are getting worse by the day. In my mind at least.

Is Mobility going downhill judging by some of the postings on this site, to be honest I personally never had a problem or asked for a courtesy vehicle.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

You could always ask the dealership for a courtesy vehicle,it wont be adapted but if you could manage a standard vehicle give it a go…you might have to give the dealership a week or so to find a workshop slot coupled with courtesy vehicle availablity.

It doesn’t work that way anymore: the dealer now needs to raise a ticket directly with RAC. And RAC refused. The dealer is more than happy to give me one of their vehicles. But what will I do without left foot accelerator? I won’t take my chances with it on M3.

Oh, that famous MG HS. Blue one? 🙂

If you can share any case reference or something I can use in my discussions with Motability would be truly appreciated.

Do you mean your Ford dealer has vehicle with adaptations in hand? You’re lucky indeed then.

Can you help me understand your point,  please? Despite I have clearly explained I require left foot accelerator,  you keep suggesting I shall brake the law and drive what the garage has just because I can?
