We’ve had two Volvo V60s, of the shape before the current one. Very capable cars, solid as a rock, with the most comfortable seats we’ve had in any car. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

I can second the seats in Volvos. They truly are first class.

You can’t beat Toyota for hybrids or reliability however, the V60 is more spacious

The Corolla is the fav car of choice of private hire taxi drivers where i live, you can only get the 122bhp car on the scheme currently……taxi drivers dont like unreliable cars that tells you summat.

Have you ruled out going full EV…..if you havent go and have a look at the Skoda Enyak Estate.

The electric Enyaq is officially an estate, the boot is cavernous. We regularly travel long distances around the UK and comfortably get a travel mobility scooter, 2 suitcases and lots of other items in the boot without needing to fold the seats down.

                    A quick look up (Whatcar)

Volvo V60 (non PHEV) has 519 litres of boot space with the rear seats up

Corolla Touring 1.8-litre model has 596 litres with the seats up, while the 2.0-litre model cuts it to 581 litres.

                    Thats suprised me!

                    Economy if important (Parkers)

The V60 B4 mild hybrid is economical, easily returning 40mpg on a run against a claimed WLTP economy figure of between 40.9–44.8mpg. In town effiency suffers, but we struggled to get less than 30mpg during our testing.

The Corolla Touring 1.8 hybrid model is known for its effiency, the 1.8-litre hybrid engine capable of achieving over 60 mpg in real-world conditions.

I was in Liverpool before Xmas and used Uber a few times, mostly Toyota Hybrid Estates.  I asked a coupe of the drivers what sort of mpg they were getting, both said mid to high 50’s round town doing shortish runs.  None of the drivers were, shall we say, “driving for best economy” 🙂

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
