BionicRusty. At a drop of a hat is the answer to your question. Had my mind set on ordering another SE L but gradually this year, Skoda started removing bits that were standard equipment and making them options. The straw that broke the camels back was when the removed the top of the range Columbus infotainment system and made it a £1200 option.  So, along with the other bits taken it just didn’t seem value for money at £3295.

So I’m swapping it for it’s cousin, the Tarraco. I originally ordered the Excellence Lux, but then had a boy racer moment and changed it for the FR in Merlot red, also getting £300 off the AP which helps!!

Martinod I’m in Manchester so Tier 3 as of today, I’m sure we will be pushed up the ladder from tomorrow. another reason for getting out there to order whilst I can. Markymark, i remember you getting yours and being envious at the time. I followed your post ever since. I’ve felt it helped cement my opinion, that my next car would be the Kodiaq. Brydo I’m hoping the ap goes down but little chance in reality. I am also slightly concerned regarding MPG as you are with the xC40. Maybe Markymark can elaborate on his fuel consumption although I thin he had the 1.4 ?

Yes, Joe, I’ve got the 1.4 TSi  6-speed DSG.  On long journey’s I get a steady 44/45 MPG, and on short jaunts It averages 34/36. I don’t think this is bad considering its a breeze block on wheels. You should be getting more once its run in a bit due to smaller tyres and the extra 7th gear.  Gonna miss the old girl when it’s change over time.

Enjoy the bear when you get it.

Coming to the end of my 3 year lease with the Kodiaq SE L, Joe.  So I can tell you, you are going to absolutely love it. I seriously don’t think I’ll ever drive a more comfortable riding car, unless I win the lottery.  Think I’ll have a tear in my eye when she goes in March.

It could be the low residual values of these cars, or Motability being able to say they have added more hybrids to the scheme. It’s a ridiculous price and you would need to be a Jeep fan boi to pay that. now if Land Rover came on the scheme……

I would also like to see Land Rover on the scheme. The Evoque and Discovery Sport would be very welcome additions. I know that Land Rovers have shocking reliability records, but at least being a lease car we wouldn’t have the worry of the cost of the breakdowns ?

Trouble is Glos Guy, you’d spend more time in a courtesy car than you would the Landy!!

I’m in the same boat as you Solent60, I can order from the 12th of December.  Originally I was going to extend the lease on the Kodiaq, then all the talk of no deal Brexit, Covid got me a bit edgy. Was going to order another Kodiaq SE L, but now Skoda have dropped some standard equipment which doesn’t make for good value in my opinion.  So I’ve test driven a few SUV’s before lockdown and like the Tarraco Excellence Lux. So back to your OP, do I order Q4, or wait for Q1.  As Big Dave says, what if they remove your choice, you’re buggared, and will have to start all over again.

So I’ve spoke to the Seat dealer and he said he’s happy to re-order if the price is lower in Q1, so unless anything changes between now and the 12th of December, I’ll be ordering the Tarraco.

I keep hoping that Big Dave will find a Seat offer out there somewhere!!

Good luck with your decision, Solent60.

Hi Glos Guy, good to see you back.

I recently test drove the new Tiquan R-Line, want the Elegance but they didn’t have one available.  I did post a short review with some pictures.  The boot floor is very deep and I could see many people having trouble getting anything out let alone a wheelchair. If you want a level floor it’ll cost you £215 and comes with a spare wheel which then takes up all that space. Really poor design if you ask me.  I was amazed at how much kit the R-Line had lost and would certainly chose the Elegance every time.

The 1.5TSi engine had more than enough pull in my opinion and the ride was very comfortable, but I should imagine you’ll be looking towards the 2.0TSi as I remember your 5 series beamer.  But definitely petrol if you’re only doing limited mileage now.

                  Good luck in your search.

                    1. Chris-Chester. I’m sure the Rline has keyless entry/start as standard?

IM collecting my Rline a week Thursday. I thought on ‘Standard kit’ it says Keyless entry and go.

The R-Line I drove had keyless entry and go, definitely standard equipment.

Nice one Tim. Yes, the Elegance is definitely the one to go for. Lovely car, hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Stuart I think I will go today to have a look as, apart from what I’ve learned today, I know very little about the Tiguan. The leather seat additional cost is a bit of a concern and I imagine the r-line will have sport seats with high sides which will be a problem.

Brydo, kessy, heated folding mirrors, automatic LED lights and wipers are standard on the Kodiaq SE L, and leather is a £350 options. Well worth a look.

Hi all, very interesting comments about Terraco/Tiguan needing a Diesel engine, I’ve just been commenting on another thread about the Sharan/Alhambra which are bigger ,heavier vehicles. Some feedback is saying the 1.4 petrol engine can pull these vehicles, although mpg isn’t good. Surely the 1.5 petrol engine can pull the Terraco/Tiguan, or does anyone disagree? I am very interested in this point as I am changing in the new year and as my diesel Alhambra clogs up and gives poor mpg around town, I am considering going petrol. However I still need a large vehicle , which traditionally has meant diesel, then along came DPFs!! Diesels like being warmed up and doing the miles. Any thoughts appreciated. Regards, wonky

To be totally honest with you, Wonky, It baffles me when I hear people say the 1.4TSi is powerless in a big SUV.  I’ve had my Kodiaq SE L 1.4TSi coming up to two years now.  In that time I’ve never experienced any power loss, gutless performance, or any trouble overtaking. Even when I’ve been loaded with 22 75lt bags of compost, it just zips along.  I came back to petrol as I only do about 6,500 a year and I was worried about loss of toque, but I can say, only from my Kodiaq experience, that I need not have worried.  I would have no qualms about recommending this petrol engine.

hi andy just had test drive in the terraco lux model very nice but was told i cannot have this model can only have the one below but that does not have electric seats do you have electric seats in the one you will order. bill

The Lux model is available, but only with a manual gearbox. 2lt diesel, or 1.5 petrol models.  Think you might want to give him a ring back.

Am I missing something. Brexit still has a way to go. This coming two weeks will be decisive with regards to leaving with a deal or not. Over the next two days we will see moves from opposition parties to stop a hard brexit, let’s see what happens as we are still in a democracy………………… Or are we?

Democracy!!!!  Nearly 3 years ago the country voted to leave the EU, but here we are still stuck in the undemocratic, unelected, corrupt clutches of this bent system.

                                    Democracy my Bottom!!

Smoo, I’ve just ask on the Kodiaq forum if their key fobs open and close the boot on the new models and all confirm they do, as does mine.  So you wouldn’t have to leave the VAG group. Plus its got a bigger boot than both the Tiquan Allspace and the Seat Tarraco.

I have to agree with Phil. It can’t be a VAG safety measure as I can open and close the boot on my Kodiaq with the door button, and the key fob.
