Hi
Picked up my Seat Taracco yesterday / 2.0 diesel xcellence model.
First impressions are good – load space with rear seats down is good (huge actually)
Driving Position is high – may be worth trying this if you think you will struggle getting in and out.
The tech upfront in cabin is good as well – my Pixel 3 phone has android auto which works faultlessly with the system in taracco – it’s so convenient to have text messages read to you by the car whilst driving and being able to text back with your voice is just brilliant !
The inbuilt sat nav is good – particularly like the option to have it in front of you whilst driving on the digital dashboard – it’s displayed in between the revs and the speedometer – you can choose what you want in the digital dash – sat nav only / phone / car info /radio etc etc – lots of options.
Electric windows – folding wing mirrors on locking / keyless entry and start (as long as you have the keys in your pocket you can open door and start car without them.
Chilled glove box / tables for the back seat passengers like on an airplane in front of you – these can be straight like a normal table to eat off etc – or angled to hold a tablet etc ! Nice touch.
LOADS of leg room behind drivers seat – this was a huge problem in my last car – and lots of head room as well !
Only had it a day – gone around 20 miles and it’s showing 28mpg – so maybe not the best car for fuel – full tank cost £60 to fill up at Costco as the dealer only put £10 in it.
Mines black – been told already it looks like a drug dealers car as the tint on the rear windows is quite deep – not really the impression I wanted to give to people.
Advance Payment was £2200 with £250 off at Pentagon – so just under £2000.
Amy questions ask away.

Well done whiteswan and thank you for being willing to share with others. Ever since its arrival on the scheme I’ve thought it would be a great allrounder and suit many scheme members, your continued real life experience will be much appreciated by many forum users and lurkers alike I’m sure. Enjoy.
August 17, 2019 at 10:28 pm #85664Richardcould you tell me what transmission you have and how it’s performing please
Rich
I currently have a Ford Focus st3 in tangerine scream with every available extra
August 17, 2019 at 11:32 pm #85668TheSUVGuyIt’s on my list for my next car, what made you choose this over the 5008/all space
enjoy and happy driving!
August 18, 2019 at 9:51 am #85686Hi
Its a Automatic DSG 2.0 LITRE – I believe there are 2 power levels available (sorry not too technical) – mine is the lower one.
5008 Just didn’t like the look of it……….The Tiguan All Space wasn’t as well specced and also the wait time was 5 months when I enquired – this was built and delivered in 7 weeks.
I did consider the Kodiaq – but the decided to go with something Brand New !

August 18, 2019 at 10:00 am #85687No questions but glad you’re happy with it. It’s always a relief when your decision is vindicated, sure plenty of us have had at least one occasion when you get it and soon think oh damn, I’m stuck with this for three years.
August 18, 2019 at 10:05 am #85688SaintsManDelivery times should be pretty good since there’s virtually no options to choose from.
Enjoy you new car.
August 18, 2019 at 3:05 pm #85713Shame about the mpg hope it improves if not a Rav 4 hybrid be better for me electric mode up to 40 mph short trips etc
August 18, 2019 at 7:23 pm #85733ShaineThe mpg will improve, 20 miles is not enough to provide an accurate figure plus diesels take a good few miles to loosen up. This should do an easy 40mpg given time.
August 18, 2019 at 8:41 pm #85748Despite the very low 28mpg is very poor, you should at least be getting mid to high 30mpg, the VW 150 bhp is a very efficient fuel engine particularly combined with the 7 speed DSG transmission.
Virtually straight out the dealers showroom with less than 300 mile our Ford Kuga 150 bhp diesel powershift towing a 1450 kg caravan was returning similar figures to your 28 mpg and 40+ solo, the VW engine is more fuel efficient than the Ford/Peugeot/Citroen.
August 18, 2019 at 10:24 pm #85751Philjb28 is low even if you cane it everywhere.
Give it a long run and you’ll see high 40’s after a few thousand miles you’ll regularly see 50 plus mpg.
August 19, 2019 at 12:03 am #85756I’ve had a dozen or so Peugeot/Citroen diesels over the years and every one returned way better mpg than the vag diesel.

mpg will improve bud, vag group (vw, seat, skoda and audi) cars have a tendancy to put out avg mpg figures, once you have done a few 1000 miles the car will be in the 40s+ so dont panic, I get avg of 14 doing 1 mile to local shop, but on motorway 48-50 and its not even really broken in (diesels are normally optimal mpg after 5000 miles), so dont panic it will improve..
August 19, 2019 at 7:55 pm #85825Hi – not too worried about the mpg – a full tank usually lasts 2-3 weeks as we don’t go far to be honest.
It’s more about comfort and load space – which this has plenty of.
LOVING the android auto – it once again today read out a text message to me whilst driving and allowed me to reply with my voice as well !! Never had to get my phone once.
Annoying you can open tailgate from fob but not close it – I specifically asked the question at ordering – I asked the dealer to mark it down on the order form before handover – they are supposed to be calling me this week.

August 19, 2019 at 8:39 pm #85830philjbDave have you read the other posts on the same problem.
The dealers say it’s a safety feature? As there is no reversing camera??
But if they told you in good faith it has the feature they should honour it.
If not you can buy a obd2 dongle and change the code to activate it.
August 20, 2019 at 1:58 am #85840There’s an entire thread on the boot closing elsewhere. I tried to link it, but it got deleted. Salient info.
“Seven seat model does not permit the boot lid to be closed using driver’s door button or fob. My dealer allegedly has the service department looking for a workaround but I think that might be tell the fool anything to keep me at bay. Suspect it will be solved by using an odb11 software fix, which may be an on/off option on the VW Tiguan AllSpace.”
“Seat are apparently researching (asking the factory) whether this can be enabled on the existing seven seat car but are not anticipating a quick response. I suspect it will be a software tweak by a knowledgeable amateur (not me) or a genius in a dealer’s service department before any joy is obtained from Seat themselves!”August 20, 2019 at 9:09 am #85846Dave have you read the other posts on the same problem. Hi – mine DOES have a reversing camera though…….yes I saw the other thread and also posted in it.
I will look into the OBD2 but think it’s up to the dealer to sort out as that was the main feature my C Class Estate did not have – it was top of the list when I ordered it.
August 20, 2019 at 9:16 am #85847By the way – if anybody can talk me through doing the remote boot open/close using the OBD 11 I will give it a go as a last resort if dealer doesn’t fix it.
I looked at their website and it appears a new version is coming out – but it’s been delayed for an unspecified period of time – I may get the old one as the main point about the new version is it ios compatible but that doesn’t bother me.

August 20, 2019 at 1:36 pm #85866MarkymateWhiteswan, have you tried the button on the drivers door, which opens the boot. If you hold the button for a couple of seconds longer, the door should close. That’s how it works on my Kodiaq, so I assume it would be the same for the Tarracco.
August 20, 2019 at 7:57 pm #85886philjbOk that’s odd then Dave my tiguan has the camera and remote opening and closing tailgate with the feature of waving a foot under the rear bumper.
The reason seat and Vw gave in the USA was it is a safety feature on 7 seat cars? Then another dealer said it’s because there is no reverse camera? Sounds like a cop out to me.
But I agree they shouldn’t sell cars without knowing all features after all that’s their job.
I did make sure the dealer went through all features on mine. I think I’d have walked away if they left the closing feature off of ours.
No dealer would have talked me into entering a PIN number.
August 21, 2019 at 6:48 pm #85936Hi
Yes I think holding the button on the door works – but I haven’t tried it yet.
Will report back.

Hi – I told the salesman when I collected it that if he couldn’t modify it to remote close with the key as promised that I will have to consider rejecting it – he agreed with this and said that he would mark it down on the handover sheet – which he did.
He has agreed to come back to me with a solution soon -otherwise I assume as he said that I can just return the car.

August 22, 2019 at 12:13 am #85966JackRegarding the obd11. Check out Carista. It’s a Bluetooth dongle (for lack of a better term) that you can buy on amazon for £15. It’s supposed to be very user friendly. Just plug it into the port and connect it via Bluetooth on your phone. You download the Carista app and use it to turn on or off all the fun little tricks like road sign recognition and needle sweep on startup etc. There’s a monthly subscription or something like that but it’s free to use for the first week and You won’t really need it for longer than a week to customise it however you want anyway. I’m sure there’s an option there to close the tailgate via the fob.
ps I ordered my Tarraco a couple of weeks back but my lease doesn’t finish until October so won’t be able to collect till then. (I already asked). Would love it if you kept updating this thread with your real world thoughts etc. Like how good does the park assist work?
August 22, 2019 at 12:25 am #85970philjbDave Keep us informed.
They can code it we know it’s easily done, but as to doing it?
I suspect they will have to order a new one and swap your car when it comes.

Hi
Hoping they re-code it – surely even ordering a new one it will be the same is it’s “disabled” for the UK ?
August 22, 2019 at 7:14 pm #86002AnonymousYou have same engine as I do in my VW allspace… 4 weeks in now getting about 37-42mpg and I’m rural, carrying a hoist, heavy scooter and always drive with heated seat on.! Took few weeks though to level out, I thought mine was low at first, but it’s getting better, guessing with same engine and basically same car, yours will be same in few weeks.
Can I just add the VW allspace also has the reversing camera, but no key fob boot close…. I was told the camera loses function when boot opens as it rises with it …
