I’ve seen my first hyundai Ioniq 5 on the road this evening. It was behind me for good few miles so I didn’t really get a good view except for the front which I’ve got to say is quite impressive looking.
Quite a few queues at forecourts yesterday and this morning in rural Shropshire. I couldn’t believe it.
I bet the folks with BEVs have big smiles on their faces, and I don’t blame them.?
Best car so far on the scheme is my present BMW X1 2.0d Xdrive. It’s eveything I need at the moment, powerful, comfortable, and enough space for us.
With the lack of choice at present, like the rest of the comments i can’t see what I can replace it with so we have been thinking about coming off the scheme. I’ve extended for 2 years I just hope it gets better.
Best car I’ve owned was a 2009 range rover.
It’ll never happen. Too many unavailable chips needed. Shortage is getting worse so the best thing we can do is dispense with chips altogether in cars. Taken together with 2030 deadline for no ICE motors, the chip-free, petrol-free, retro-fit system below is the way forward. No charging problems either. Just stick some coke in the boiler and away you go… toot… toot…

I love it. I wonder if I can convert my series 2a.
Fastbike, generally dealers are the last to know anything about motobility plans.
I thought it was the customer who was the last to know. ?
I had considered ordering another BMW X1, even contacted my dealer about a 20i xline but after talking to him and explaining my concerns he advised to wait until next year. He sort of, in a round about way, said the X1 hybrid would be on and later the new X1 so I extended my lease. I don’t think he thought BMW would be leaving the scheme.
September 18, 2021 at 9:23 am in reply to: Top 10 Best Family Electric Cars 2021, My favourites, Mach-E & Kia EV6 #164442A interesting read brydo. Although I’ve never driven a EV, my next car will be electric.
My favourite looks wise is the Kia ev6 then the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the skoda IMHO is bloody awful.
The model Y would be far better suited for motability customers.
September 15, 2021 at 9:19 am in reply to: Range-topping Citroen C5 Aircross Black Edition added to SUV line-up #164292I’m not a fan of French cars but It’s a lot of car for the money. I wonder if it will come onto the scheme.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>It’s amazing how much the film as left out Tharg.</p>
It’s not just spiders, theirs seems hell of a lot more slugs around, not just on the veg.
Just started re-reading Lord of the rings. I forgot how good the book is.
That’s great info for anyone who is firmly on the fence concerning EVs, like me. I just wish a EV comes on that suits my needs and I can afford.
As far as I know theirs four. MG motors, Volvo, LDV and Lotus (that was a surprise ?) that sell in the UK that are Chinese owned.
Isn’t Volvo owned by Geely?
Very nice indeed.
I’m definitely taking the booster, silly not too really. I’ve been having the flu jab for the last 15 years.
BMW x1 Xdrive 2.0 sport diesel. Just extended for another 2 years, I would have another x1 if the hybrid comes on if not I have to see what EVs come on.

I agree stuart, 226 bhp is enough for me.
Good post brydo.
August 18, 2021 at 9:21 am in reply to: A Turbulent journey with Clear a pathway – Ordering my VW ID.3 #162232I agree with you Tim. I don’t think it’s discrimination. It’s just bad.
What I do if I get crappy service from anyone not just cars is leave feed back on their website, it might not change the sellers attitude to disabled people but it might be helpful to those after you.
Hey brydo. I bet everybody has called their car names at some time.
Lovely car and I would quite happily have it on my drive but as Tim says it is a little lacking in the boot space (hope I’m not being bootest here) for my needs. Shame really.
Totally agree with joss. Challenge the decision.
Pets are a major help for the disabled.
I haven’t named any of my scheme cars and won’t, but both my Landrovers are named, the 63 series 2a is Ade from it’s number plate and the 98 Defender 90 is named Joe (Joe 90 which was one of my favourite tv programs when I was a kid)
Why. Every time I said to the missis I was going out in the landy she would ask which one.
