Cheapest near me is £1.45 for petrol and £ 1.65 for diesel.
I’ve just checked mine and I paid £85 for a 2year extension which I believe is a motability deal.

The Nissan Ariya I had previously was a bit funny with Regen, if the battery was full you didn’t get any regeneration at all and the brakes felt soft but you soon got used to it.

Third that for Kwik Fit doing the MOT.
It was far easier then going to the dealership, mind you Motability have made it easier by not having a service done at the end of your lease.
Cheers guys never thought about a cover. Now the wife can’t make her mind up about which colour she wants 😩
January 18, 2026 at 2:37 pm in reply to: if the DWP end your mobility element but the 3 year lease hasn’t ended….. #332460You should get some GCB if not all, as long as the car is returned in good condition.
I think there are, on some cars, phantom drain issues. That, plus they do fit very small and crappy 12v batteries as the cranking amps/big power not needed. I don’t understand why they don’t just fit a lithium battery – well, I do understand, it’ll probably be 50p more expensive! Kia /Hyundai had problems early 2021 with their charging regime for the 12v, it basically didn’t allow for it to be charged often enough and, when on charge, it was for a short period only, so loads went flat. They updated the software and included a lot more 12v charging sessions which solved the issue (unless you had a component causing 12v drain – see phantom drain above). I’ve had a Kia Soul since mid 2021 then an Ioniq 5 since Jan 2025. Neither has had any issues with the 12v. But I do spend a fair bit of time in Utility mode – and that defaults to charging the 12v when on, so I may be helping the battery cope with any suboptimal conditions. No ICCU issues for me so far – 11,500 miles…touch wood…avoid black cats etc…
That’s good to hear about the ICCU mate. All I seem to read about the Ioniq 5 at the moment is ICCU problems.
Glad it’s gone well for you joss.
January 17, 2026 at 4:10 pm in reply to: YouTube Bangernomics Video £300 a month in your pocket or new car #332410Let’s be honest, most folks would prefer a brand new car sitting outside their house.
I think the problem with mine is it was one of the first into the country, so a lot the faults wasn’t ironed out.
You could be right Kezo. If you look at most of the different manufacturers forums/facebook their seems to be a general consensus of 12 volt battery problems.
January 17, 2026 at 11:52 am in reply to: YouTube Bangernomics Video £300 a month in your pocket or new car #332390If I could I would still drive my Defender 90 all the time but unfortunately it’s not to be, saying that I still manage a couple of thousand miles a year.
Surely there must be an underlying fault somewhere that’s causing the 12v battery to fall over? Trouble is nobody in the chain is interested in diagnosis these days, it’s all just replace the failed bit and move along. Somebody is going to buy that car and will still be suffering the same issues.
I really don’t know mate, for the first 12 months it was in and out of the dealers Nissan Telford (bloody useless) then I changed dealers to the one in Shrewsbury and they seemed to get to grips with it with one little niggle which was sorted really well and quickly and it’s been fine until yesterday.
what are you changing to fastbike1000
I’m picking up a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N line S mitch. I just hope Hyundai have sorted the ICCU issues because I really don’t want another lemon😂.
I had a bit of fun this morning with my 4X4, helped a couple of neighbours get up the hill. Good tyres do make a difference, mind you I did think I might have to put the snow chains on.
Good to know you are still happy with it. My dealer phoned me this morning, apparently mines at the dealer and going through the workshop ready for me on the 20th.
Im so glad i no longer have to queue at a petrol station for fuel. Driving an EV is so relaxing not listening for some strange rattle from the engine bay…wondering if my DPF is going to get stuffed.
Maybe I’m just lucky, but in almost 45 years of driving ICE cars I’ve never queued for more than a few minutes (usually not at all) and it’s always taken way less time than recharging an EV! I’ve also never had strange rattles or dpf issues, but I’m only going on my experience having driven well over half a million miles
I’ve definitely remember queuing for fuel the main one was around the 2000 petrol crisis which lasted quite a few weeks and before that the late 1970’s 3 day week.
As to strange rattles, yep definitely, mind you I drive old Landrovers 😂
I’ve had a EV for the last 3 years and I’ve ordered a new one but I wouldn’t have a EV unless I could charge at home. You really need to go into EV ownership with your eyes open, it might be OK in the summer months but what about when its cold with ice or snow like today and as Glos Guy says what happens if the charger is being used.
You could download a load of charging APPs to your phone and check where all your chargers are, you never know you might find one really close to you.
Good luck with the gym, I did it 9 months ago and its made a big difference. Check with your doc you might be able to get signed up to something called exercise on referral, a big saving on gym membership.
A few weeks ago I ordered my new car and I was up-front with the dealer concerning a AP decrease in Q1. Basically I told him I would cancel and re-order if the AP went down, which he was OK with. If he hadn’t been I would gone to another dealer.
I have read somewhere that the Hyundai Santa Fe is coming off next quarter.
I wonder if this as gone out the window since the budget.
Only if they are called coupe’s. 😉
Is this still a thing? i was in Cars2 wakefield looking at the ioniq 5. i asked the motability specialist about it and he said that Motability dont like it . i told him that it was JCT600 VW that told me about it as they did it for a previous golf order i had and it took them a few minutes as the next Quart AP favoured me. needless to say i walked away didn’t like his attitude
I’ve already told my Hyundai dealer that if the AP went down I would cancel and re-order and he said he didn’t have a problem with that.
Just a thought, for those able to order now, why not do so. When q1,2026 arrives simply cancel and reorder. You are allowed to within the system.
Totally agree, it was in my mind as soon as my lease window opened. Technically I could wait until January 20th but I think I’ve ordered a good car anyway.
