EV’s will be cheap to run until the government have most people in them, then watch tax etc go through the roof. Where else will they get the money that they currently get from fuel sales.
I’m really hoping EV’s make a bit of a leap in the next few years. We have a diesel on order now, and it could well be our last ICE car if there is more of a choice next time.
And yes, I’d want 300 miles range, followed by a very short charging time.WELL IT TURNES OUT THE CALL WAS NOT FROM ESA BUT PIP HAS I GOT A LETTER YESTADAY MORNING SAY THAT THEY HAVE LOOKED AT MY PAYMENT AND DECIDEDTO GIVE IT ME FOR AN ON GOING PERIOD.TILL 2030 I STILL HAD A YEAR LEFT BEFORE IT RUN OUT AS ANYONE ELS HAD THIS?
Yes my wife had a pip letter out of the blue last week, her pip was due to be looked at next year too.
Like yours, extended to 2030 wth the words ‘ongoing’Congratulations, lovely car! We ordered an Allspace in December and it’s left the factory so could be anywhere!

We had a Grand Scenic a couple of cars back, was a great car. After that we had the Grand Picasso, and currently an Alhambra.
We never really needed a 7 seater, but the amount of room was great.
Next car is an Allspace so looks like we are following the herd lol.
Probably our last big car though.I was also wondering about this if it’d be safe to buy a Tiguan Allspace manufactured in Mexico, especially ones that were manufactured in March as they had a worker tested positive on 25/03 who eventually died after a week and also left his 5 family members in hospital with respiratory problems. The article also mentions that a number of employees have been asked to be quarantined and factory closed since 31/03.

Any virus will be long gone from the car by the time it arrives in this country. We ordered an Allspace in December, and am waiting for an update from the dealer about it. I’ll be quite happy if it takes a couple more months as I’m in no rush to go out.
Vulnerable people being told they can go out from tomorrow, with the R number still too high, 8000 new cases a week, and 400 people dying a day. We will most definitely be staying in.
Turned up yesterday.
May 27, 2020 at 11:47 am in reply to: Calls for car dealerships to reopen as closures costs Treasury £61 million a day #113910My dealer has been keeping me updated from home. I think my Allspace is sitting half built in a factory in Mexico currently.
As I’m currently on the government ‘shielding’ list I am in no hurry to pick it up when it arrives. I think that is going to be a discussion between me, the dealer and motability when the time comes if the government advice is the same. Both me and my wife are on the shielding list so haven’t been out of the house for weeks, and think it will be some months yet. The salesman at our VW dealership keeps sending updates about the Allspace we ordered in December but it all seems a bit pointless now.
Highly doubt we will risk picking it up in June/July even if the deaership is open…How is the government going to make back the tax revenue it currently gets from fuel…
I wouldn’t even consider it with those AP’s.

The current system will be unworkable.Depends what I’m planning to do whether I fill the tank or not, I usually run the Alhambra around half full unless ‘m planning on a long journey then it’s filled to the brim. I never run in the red.
When it goes back I’m hoping it will be running on fumes. He beings the forum down, it’s not as pleasant a place as it used to be unfortunately.
January 17, 2020 at 6:36 pm in reply to: UK’s favourite car colours: Grey retains 2019 top spot #103402Look around any car park, the majority of cars are very dull and boring. We have a grey Alhambra now, one of millions of other grey cars.
Next car is a boring blue Allspace, because the only bright colour is a hideous orange that cost quite a bit extra!
My wifes favourite car on the scheme was a ‘bora bora’ green Picasso, at least she could find it in a carpark! It’s just Elliot, he doesn’t have a car on the scheme, I doubt there will ever be a car good enough for him on the scheme, and seems to hate the scheme anyway so I would question his motives when they post.
Exactly Georgie…
I wonder what happened in 2016 to cause such a downturn…
If one has done it, others will follow.

January 3, 2020 at 10:28 am in reply to: Now metallic paint is extra on XC40 Tiguans looks favourite! #102127I currently have a 190 Alhambra, but have ordered a 150 Tiguan, during the test drive I couldn’t tell much, if any difference.

Winston don’t let yourself be driven away from the forum by someone who isn’t even on the scheme and seems to despise it.
