What’s the thoughts on the added karando. I like the look of it in the vinnie Jones adverts but with the AP does it represent good value compared to the specs, anyone seen it it person.

APs seem pricey? BMW X1 seems cheap in comparison.

TommyFor a budget car the APs are extortionate, I’d say “why buy a ssangyong when have a”, then name a hundred better cars
February 5, 2020 at 10:20 am #105257I quite like them, not budget feeling inside at all, certainly a long leap forward from their last model. Not sure about the 1.6 diesel, needs more poke I think, pity they dropped the old 2.2.
The AP is high, it should be the Ultimate model rather than the 2wd Pioneer.
7 year warranty too, not that we need it.

February 5, 2020 at 10:32 am #105261Not too bad if you like SUVs with lots of twiddly styling bits. VAG’s one are better to look at IMHO. But it is dreadfully underpowered – max 160bhp for a thing weighing nearly two tonnes, well, says it all really!
February 5, 2020 at 5:22 pm #105369I don’t know if it’s just the photos but that hatch door doesn’t half look small aperture wise.
February 5, 2020 at 8:04 pm #105398I can’t see many people ordering one of these.

JohnHow many of you commenting have actually seen one in the flesh or driven one? I have a vested interest in them as I sell them but all I would say is TRY one before forming an opinion please.
February 19, 2020 at 10:18 am #107059No need to see one John, I’ve seen the AP for auto version @£2,799 so for myself its a none starter and won’t even bother to put it on my short list in the first place. ?

Absolutely agree but perhaps the comments here are mainly cost related rather than quality related. To buy a 2.2D SE is less than £17,000. For Motability, with the AP cost plus the lease cost, the total for three years comes to nearly £12,000 for the Ventura. The car itself looks amazing in the adverts but surely Ssangyong must realise that to open the floodgates, it needs to entice us with lower AP’s to kick start the revolution. When you consider the Tiguan starts at an AP of £649!
? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
February 19, 2020 at 11:08 am #107063the issue i have is theres only one auto with a huge ap.
many on motability need an automatic vehicle easy to get in and out of and a reasonable ap.
it just doesnt work on many levels.
same thing with dacia.
next time round i will be seriously considering mg. they have electric, auto and reasonable ap. £382 for the exclusive on wpms.

Georgie£1,900 AP for a £20k SUV? Jeez!
February 19, 2020 at 5:19 pm #107089£2,800 for the higher spec if on PIP! ?

February 19, 2020 at 7:31 pm #107103Buy one that’s a year old and you would only be paying the same as the entire 3 year lease plus AP, doesn’t make any financial sense to get one on the scheme.
February 19, 2020 at 8:54 pm #107111I wouldn’t even consider it with those AP’s.

February 20, 2020 at 10:03 am #107145Ssangyong are Korean, not Chinese. Used to be Dong-A Motor (stop sniggering at the back).
Owned by Mahindra Group, so we might get to see some rebadged cars from India like the XUV.
