As above, don’t pay or input your pin until you have personally checked the car out to make sure it is exactly what you ordered and not damaged in any way.

My Allspace was ordered in December, picked it up last Friday…

Too early to tell really, getting used to the adaptive cruise after only having normal cruise on the Alhambra, and trying to find my old favourite DAB radio channels is proving a challenge lol
Even though we went for standard halogen lights they seem much brighter than the old car.

Picked ours up, beautiful car to drive (and to look at IMO) bit less power than our Alhambra but the handling is much better.

No not this time, we haven’t done that for a few years now, not too fussed really.

Not much I think Matt, the heated seats, heated washer nozzles and mirrors. Was a bit of a bargain for £285, and after having heated seats in the last two cars, I think we would struggle without them.

Dealer sent me a video of the car. Pick up 10am tomorrow, Match 150 Allspace diesel 4 motion in blue silk metallic. Only extra we wanted was the winter pack for the heated seats.

The only motability car I’ve ever been concerned about power wise was our first, in 1997. A Ford Escort estate 1.6 with about 88bhp! We had just come from a Volvo turbo though.
The vast amount of my driving these days is on 50 mph roads, with quite a bit of traffic, so big amounts of power aren’t really needed or even usable.

Currently a 184 Alhambra, and yes it has a surprising turn of speed for such a big car. Next car on Friday will be a 148 Allspace.
                      Wonder if I’ll miss that 36 bhp…

Our 2018 plate 2.0 diesel Tiggy SEL Auto is due for change next April so should be ordering a replacement in Jan. The New facelift models will be out by then so hopefully the AP’s don’t go up too much. We had to pay around £1800 IIRC last time. Been really happy with our current car, no problems with it and is very comfortable and a real pleasure to drive. Shame though that it has only done about 11k miles in 2-1/2 years mainly due to Covid of late, as probably only done less than 1k in the last 7 months.

Could you talk to Motability about extending the lease?  We’ve got around 25k miles on our current Alhambra, probably about 7k less than we would usually have due to the lockdown. Think we paid around £1500 AP for our Match Allspace awd, and it’s over 3k now!
Our plan is this will probably be our last large car, and hopefully in 3-4 years EV will be more of an option for us.

My Allspace arrived in the country on Friday, and hopefully at the dealers in the next week or so. It’s been a long 8 months since ordering!

Getting ready for independance, so they will need this stuff in place. and the best of luck to them.
I love Scotland, maybe one day I will live up there rather than just visiting regularly.

I love his reviews, and the ID3 is definitely something we’ll be looking at in 3-5 years if it’s on the scheme.

I am in the same boat Andy, I would love a full EV, but like you I tow a 1500 kg caravan, at this moment in time we have compromised and tow with a Mitsubishi Outland PHEV.

I too would love an ev, but this time round have gone for a diesel Tiguan Allspace (if it ever turns up) hopefully in 3-5 years there’ll be more choice.
I have just googled for an ev that can tow a caravan, and there only  one suitable, the Tesla model x suv, and as I don’t see motability letting that on any time soon, unless they raise the cap to £82000 looks like I’ll have to wait a while longer.

We’ve been shielding since March, my wife hasn’t left the house, except for blood tests, apart from that I’ve only been out for a couple of visits to the local vet with an ill dog.
I have seen very little mask use on my travels, or social distancing, and most people seem to be carrying on as usual. In fact my social media is full of people in pubs and enjoying holidays.
They seem to have forgotten about the virus, and us, so we will continue to be extremely careful until a vaccine turns up.

It will be a while before an EV is suitable for me. Interesting thaat whenever someone posts saying that sort of thing the ev evangalists jump to the defense and point out how ridiculous we are for thinking that.
Of course, I could be out of the loop here, so if an ev afficionado could kindly point me to a suitable ev currently on the scheme with a 200-300 mile range that will tow my 1500kg caravan that would be great ta.

I’ve just lived with it over the last 3 years. Certainly a strange ommision on such a well specced car (the Lux model)

Damn I hope they sort that out over the next few years, I want an EV in the next 3-5 years  but that sounds like a complete mess.

Didn’t get the 500 off, couldn’t travel at the time. Happy enough with the price for what we’re getting, probably be our last big car.
Maybe a little run around next time for zero ap lol
