Never see it before on any other forum. How does the ‘£4.50 a tank’ work for the millions of people who can’t charge from home?
Personally I’d never pay that amount of AP for a car I will be handing back 3 years later.
New Renault pricing Clio starting from £0 AP Captur starting fro £0 AP Arkana starting from £1495 AP Zoe starting from £0 AP Megane E-Tech starting from £995 AP Austral starting from £2995 AP
What trim of the Megane starts at £995 out of interest ?
Kezo it’s the megane e tech techno a blooming bargain
That does look like a real bargain! Nice to see the scheme settling down a bit with these AP’s.
The ID range now seems reasonable, once the new car payment of £750 is taken off. Hate the lack of proper buttons and knobs in the interior though. Style over function.
Now that we’ve extended for two years the plan is to try out a few EV’s just to see what they are like, tbh something like a Kona would do us for 90% of the time (if we can get a home charger fitted) but I’m certainly glad I have a 450 + mile range ICE for my upcoming trip to Ireland as planning where to charge constantly won’t be a consideration.
I sometimes wish this forum had a ‘like’ button for some of your posts Glos Guy. It’s quite possible our next car will be Ev (we will be extending the diesel Tiguan for another two years) but some of the holier than thou posts from Ev owners makes me want to go out and buy a V8 Jag.
If anything I only see choices for people that want diesel cars getting worse and worse on the scheme. The future is nothing but electric on the scheme imo.
I think when you look at that outlay, it has to be a 5 year lease.
But that then takes the £20k outlay up to around £27k ?
Yes, and that just sounds mad to me. I think the most I’ve ever paid upfront is the under 2k my Tiguan Allspace cost. Times have certainly changed.
20k for a car you’re just going to hand back after 3 years, no thank you.
I used to hit nearly 30k miles in a 3 year lease, now I’ve retired, and with the lockdowns my nearly 3 year old Tiguan has under 10k miles on it. Motability must be laughing their **** off and coining it in.Us in the UK are going to be the only ones made to drive around in EV’s aren’t we lol.
Are you 100% sure you put your details in exactly? I’ve recently renewed mine and it kept not recognising my details until I put the name exactly as on my old licence, including middle name.

We can order in June, but will probably extend the car, as nothing comes close to it on the scheme for what we paid in AP (Tiguan Allspace AWD 2l diesel)
Due to the pandemic and giving up work the car hasn’t even hit 15k miles yet.
Never extended before, but nothing on the scheme excites me too much, so the plan is to hold on for another couple of years then get something smaller as I’ll be hitting 60 then.Depending on what other manufacturers do the kamiq could be this quarters bargain.
My main worry is Motability is going to start basically forcing people into EV’s if they want a car on the scheme as we get closer to the 2030 cut off date.
£3999 AP and 30mpg, ouch.
I like the look of it, but why on earth doesn’t the passenger seat have the same amount of adjustment as the drivers seat!
As someone who has been on the scheme for 25 years now I’m getting more and more disillusioned with it. Stupidly high AP’s with less car choice every quarter and now cutting the GCB might be the last straw for me.
Current plan is to extend our current Allspace to 5 years then maybe call it a day and try and buy something reliable for a few grand unless things change a lot over the next couple of years.I did it yesterday, worked fine for me.
It’s not the car it’s the tyres.
Not done many miles in our Tiguan Allspace Match 150 diesel 4wd yet but so far it’s a 10 from me. Absolutely love it, probably the best car we’ve had on the scheme, and maybe our last diesel.
Could i contact motability and ask them if i could repair it myself via a garage? There is a door from same model on ebay from a breaking tiguan which would fit
It’s their car, they will want it done properly under their insurance.
Congrats. Loving ours, quite a change from the Alhambra.
September 10, 2020 at 8:07 am in reply to: Is it normal for dealerships to ask you to pay for your options the day u order? #123557Depends how much they are, some dealers want a deposit on extras as a sign of commitment as some Mota customers have been known to order a car with lots of extras and then cancel last minute. So long as you get it in writing that it is a returnable deposit and no towards the AP it’s up to you if you want to pay for them up front. I added a £200 option pack to my last order and left the £200 deposit with a receipt showing what it was for and it was refundable.
Pretty much this. We paid a refundable deposit of £285, which was the price of the options on our new car.
