Trying to order car on behalf of my dad as I am his carer after a stroke.

Realised I had misplaced my photocard license. Tried to order new one online but its unable to match me? I’ve tried ringing and same issue.

I’ve now got to write to them to try and get it sorted.

Has anyone else had this issue?

All my details are correct so I’ve no idea why they can’t find me.

Are you 100% sure you put your details in exactly? I’ve recently renewed mine and it kept not recognising my details until I put the name exactly as on my old licence, including middle name.

Yeah I’ve used my middle name as it appeared on my license. Its a mystery.

 

I’ve sent them a recorded letter today but can take up to a month for a response.

I keep a photo of my licence on my phone, just in case. It’s surprising how many times it’s come in handy in everyday life without losing the original.

Being over 70 I have to renew my license every 3 years and can say without doubt that the DVLA web portal is the worst I’ve ever used.

Used it last year and had to input my details 3 or 4 times before they got excepted with times out and so say incorrect input on top of there second rate computer servers. The first few tries were during busy times of the day (mid morning) so I tried and was successful mid afternoon.
