Lovely car now have some fun, there is nothing like a brand new car.

True especailly when it drives so good and brings out that big kid in you.. My last few cars have been more about logic in mind than with the heart and this time i thought, i’d go for it before we cannot get any ice car’s anymore and i cannot get in one so low. This was the only car i test drove as well..

Selfish i know but i got my reasons, My son loved cars and he never got to drive, so this ones for him.

Carwow usually do their own 0-60 test and they’re often a little bit quicker than the official times. I’ve just watched a YouTube video of the civic 1.5 cvt and it managed 0-60 in 7.2 seconds which is a second quicker than the official time. That’s actually a pretty big difference

Indeed sometimes it’s down to the conditions as well and in which mode you have it in etc..

The cvt was the one thing that concerned me about getting the car but actually it’s not an issue at all..

Alli can say say is it prob could not handle more power to it if you was looking to modify it. which i’m not.

          <p style=”text-align: left;”>Beautiful car Rox. ??
I absolutely love the rear end. ♥️ <p style=”text-align: left;”>8.2 seconds with today’s weighty cars due to all of the tech is pretty good and plenty quick enough. And we all know the VTech’s have a great power band. Lovely.

My missus even like’s this car and that says it all. she thinks the type R is ridiculus. I’d luve one but on in manual and i cannot do that no more..

It’s pretty well loaded with tech as standard although the higher spec sports model is no longer available in the uk, but that was abit slower due to the extra weight.. and when was on the scheme alot higher ap for not that much more really..

before you hand it back put the old speakers back in he he. plus No cutting holes in the back shelf like back in the day..

a sub woofer is different that you will need an amp for it deffo and it’s own power source.. or it will drain the channel outputs to much as will to big and powerful speakers if the actual channel output is low.. most new cars are pretty good sound output wise imo..

If you was changing the head unit that would be a different matter as most these days are fitted or part of the infotainment system and you’d have to buy a different panel to fit it..

If you damage any trim though thats down to you and maybe you’ll be liable for any issues with that if door card need removing etc..

Nice car Rox, we’ve got an Integra in the family so are familiar with older Honda’s. And your correct, no need to run in engines any more, floor them from day one…..unless it’s a Lamborghini, as seen in the news recently.

Yeah saw that, a grey one, more money than brains. Integra’s are pretty rare..

My first love was a honda allbeit a rust heap of a car and have driven a few honda’s in my many years of driving but never owned or leased one myself again till now.. My personal fav was the civic coupe one they did in mid 90’s with the 2.3 vtec.. That Car was awesome to drive.

Driving this car is similar to driving that only is better with all the modern electronics unless it’s a lambo. you see alot of them crashed.. Feels glued to the road..

It must be a heavy car as a 0-60 time of 8.2s doesn’t seem right for a car with 182 BHP.

Curb Weight 1341 (kg) so is heavier than my golf was, that was about 1250kg but it seems a longer and wider car..

Is a vtec as well so thats gonna make the 0/62 mph slower imo, but higher up the rev range is where it gives it to you.. Vw only get 150 bhp from there 1.5 tsi and i was in a golf 1.6 tdi before getting the honda.

The golf had great torque but only 110 bhp the dsg maybe helps but the cvt ain’t as bad as i thought it would be far from it.. so smooth..

Some say it can do it faster than 8.2 secs and the top speed is limited due to the cvt but all in all I’m very impressed with it, overall as a car. all i wanna do is drive it more and more..

Congrats, Rox. Very nice looking car. Your snaps make it look much better than all of Honda’s super sexy advert stuff. You pix show it for real and damn good looking! Shouldn’t you take it a little bit easy until run-in? I am with my Mini; 3 months old, 400 on clock, am searching for any excuse to get mileage up to 1000 so I can see what 2litres does in a machine weighing just a tad over a tonne.

Thx yeah the advert has The red car

Is a blue sportsline vid about in the blue but was a dull wet day they shot it on… red is the standard colour it comes in though so at least honda honest..

It says nothing in the manual about waiting any mount of miles but it does say wait until engine has warmed up before driving spritely hehe… Oil temperature not the water temp.

7000rpm where the red starts as well… I was no where near there more like 5500.. Takes me back to my 205 gti days that used to say in the manual do not race until engine is warm..

I think most modern new cars the engines don’t need running in as such, in a way they did many years ago or after an engine rebuild.. Once they fullywarmed up they good to go, unless stated otherwise. Maybe you won’t get the best fuel ecomony till after so many miles maybe upto 5k on a diesel.

Brakes now they a different matter and i did not push it to much as yet till they bed in.. As stopping is the most important thing after all. May hit the dales this weekend.

Nicey nice! In my favourite shade of blue, too. No problem with the back end in this case, as it balances the front end. Happy Trails!

I’m gonna hit some nice country roads soon so i can hear it roar instead of purr..

Thats the bad side, often you got to go and look at the specs of each model and compare the trim levels of each car you intrested in and sometimes build them to see what extras you can add if you so wish or have to do that.. depends on the maker and there site.

I need adaptive cruise control and an automatic for the slow speed follow and often it comes as part of a pack at way to much money imo.. for me everything has to be as standard up to an AP I can justify.

I’m not intending to buy the car at the end of 3 years and those extra packs cost more on top.

Sometimes it’s not easy but worth looking at because you have to keep the car in most cases for 3 years

Nothing like window shopping and ordering your new car, then you have the 90 days count down and finally when you get your mitts on the keys, happy hunting.

Indeed normally i’d agree but It’s been 0ver 155 days for me now and still not had the keys was arranged for monday just gone but is an issue with registering hondas ordered on the scheme and it don’t seem like anytime soon it will change either, Expecting some info from motability next week on the situtation.

So i might be starting my search allover again..

Motability put it in their May 2020 Edition drive section of the LifeStyle Magazine that the id4 is Coming soon. As yet im still trying to establish how long Soon is as they said coming soon for the Kona Electric and that was Q3 2018.

Yes but the views expressed in LifeStyle Magazine do not necessarily represent the views of motability and therefore MB or MBO cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of the info therein… nor any consequences airising from it.

Thx, yeah it seems that way. Small problems can become not so easy ones to fix or solve right now because of covid, especally when most staff are still working from home, which i had heard includes dvla as as well. So who knows when this will be fixed..

and how easy it was for honda’s operations to come to a halt because of a cyber attack.. They think it was because someone was working from home that it happened.. so i heard in a article but no new info since it was big news last week.. Has effected everything even the parts ordering system been down. but they all up and running it’s just the access to dvla thats not up due to i guess the risk to dvla.. so no cars can be registered using the electronic method..

Imagine if it was dvla now they more and more connected to the net the more risk there is of an attack / or flaw in the network and they hold alot of sensitive data on ppl criminals can use or leverage like with the nhs attack before.. so i can deffo see why and understand it but the cars empty, ready and cleaned only 30 miles left in the tank and I reset the info system data on sunday night ready for the handover, so back to being in limbo again.. Maybe it’s time to cancel and wait for a nice deal to come along who knows..

Things have changed abit because of covid and now MB do suggest you contact the dealer and arrange an appointment. but is no excuse for poor treatment..

Do I need to make an appointment at my dealership to place an application?

Yes, some dealerships will still be closed and social distancing arrangements mean that all dealerships are having to plan more carefully. You will need to make an appointment so that they can dedicate enough time to help you find the right car and let you know how COVID-19 is affecting their services.

So they maybe busy but i test drove the car i ordered in jan 2020 back in sept 2019 and made a provisional order, I have never paid any ap upfront only on day of collection..

I have heard of deposits being made to reserve a build slot or for addons / extras requested which are not part of the AP and is down to the dealer i guess… but on just the ap they trying it and I’ve never been asked hoping to pickup my 4th car soon but now hackers have stop it for now and after covid 2..

I was told last minute once I got showed the car and signed papers that I won’t be allowed to get the car as I’m under 25. Iv been told I could appeal and see if it works. Does anyone know if the appealing works. Thanks

The tarraco in excellence lux i bet comes with Adaptive cruise control as standard not at a grand for a pack..

it’s the trim i’d choose in any seat right now, although the new leon when it comes out will have acc on the fr trim..

So no i wouldn’t be getting any BMW right now solely as i need acc in any car now it’s great…

As for seat / bmw / mercedes / audi / mini/ there are no dealer local to me and thats a problem for service etc, I don’t mind travelling to order and pick it up but for every issue or problem it becomes a headache..

So just not viable which is a shame plus all of them makes i listed have no acc as standard..

My son would not of been able to drive my car as a named driver on the scheme as it’s for over 25s only.

My step mum had MS for many years, sadly she’s passed away last year as well.

Her and my dad never got a car on the scheme, because the terms did not suit them. he worked away from home alot driving a hgv and although no one else drove in their household then or could drive it when he was away.. He was not allowed to use it for his own use, so decided to buy privately with the allowance..

When her daughter passed her test they then got a car on the scheme and it stayed at home and she drove her mum out and about as you do when my dad was at work.. He still had his car for getting to and from work, which sat at his work for weeks sometimes while he was on the road..

Sometimes the scheme is not for everyone due to the terms not being compatible, with people’s lives… Some People misuse the scheme so all have to suffer and is something they is strict on if they findout..

So maybe there better options for you and your situtation.. outside the scheme.

I’d be intrested in the 2.0l now it’s available over the 1.8 but the AP is alot higher £1745 TOYOTA C-HR HATCHBACK 2.0 HYBRID DYNAMIC 5DR CVT sure the ap’s have gone up since i looked.. was a while ago

The hybrid system is different like on the corrolla 2.0l, Although with that the big problem is the battery is in the boot and i assume it is on this as well as the capacity is 358 not 378lt.

but you get do more hybrid range and power But it also has much high co2 and hydro carbons than the 1.8l

Is it worth double the ap I’m not sure but does have over 60 more bhp and 8.2 secs 0-62 (mph) over 11 secs for the 1.8 and only around 4 or 5 less mpg

As for the cvt all autos have a flaw of some sort imo the cvt is some what flawed in how it’s designed to work, it don’t do steps which is what normal cars do when you change gear and we kind of used to, so you feel and hear it changing up a cvt don’t do that. it has only one gear like a go cart.. The gears can be simulated to act like steps but it’s a gimmic and not really handy to most in day to day driving..

To me it only matters what car I choose on the scheme, not what others choose.. but we all gotta live with that choice for 3 years (in most cases) So has to be practical imo and tick all the boxes that one needs.. For each of us that’s different.

Well I’ve been driving since 17 and I’m now 24 without any claims or points and I’m still limited to what I can drive Well I’ll be 25 in march 2021 so I’ll just have to wait a little while longer now Needing an automatic car also affects your choice as you are fit to get a car in manual that under 120hp and group 16 but then you go automatic and it could be 148hp and group 18 I need automatic as I drive with hand controls

It’s always been this way many years ago i dreamed of hitting 25, then i foundout when you 25 you not over 25 till you 26 all so i could afford to get insured or could even get insurance on certain cars, I was living in Camden town, london back then, i Had a 1.6l honda accord that got given to me by a customer. It had less than 100 bhp and it was over a grand a year upfront with no installments.. 30 years ago now.

Somethings in life you just need to wait for and in the same vain be grateful for. Something is always better than nothing when cars are involved.

                                                      Latest info from https://news.motability.co.uk/scheme-news/updates-from-the-motability-scheme-regarding-covid-19-coronavirus/

I am an existing customer when can I place an application for my next car?

If you are in the final three months of your lease or have had your lease extended due to COVID-19, you can now place an order.

The latest pricing has now been updated. Remember that pricing on the Scheme is updated every three months and the current pricing is valid for orders placed up until 30 June 2020. Pricing will be updated as normal on 1 July.

Please bear in mind that some dealers remain closed and all dealers are likely to be busier than usual. Your dealer will have social distancing measures in place, so you must contact your dealer to make an appointment and find out in advance how COVID-19 is affecting their services.

Please note we usually require 12 months remaining on your allowance when you place an application, however due to the current situation we are accepting applications from existing customers who have at least six months remaining.

Has COVID-19 affected car delivery times?

The length of time it takes for your car to be delivered could vary considerably due to the disruption experienced by car manufacturers during this time. It is worth checking with the dealership if the car you are interested in is in stock or whether it will need to be ordered from the manufacturer, which may well mean a delay. There may well be a comparable car from a different manufacturer, so it is worth considering this before you place your order.

I am an existing customer, but do not want to place an order for my next car at the moment, what are my options?

If you are not quite ready to choose a new vehicle you do not need to do anything further at this stage. If we do not hear from you and you do not place an application for a new vehicle, we will automatically extend your lease for six months. You will also automatically receive a Certificate of Motor Insurance or a temporary cover note from RSA Motability (RSAM) covering this six-month period.

If you have already had your lease extended during lockdown, please contact us so we can apply a further lease extension for you.

Alternatively, in certain circumstances you may decide that you’d like to extend your lease for longer, such as another one or two years. This might be the case if you have specific adaptations or if you have driven less than 15,000 miles at the end of your three-year lease. If either of these apply, please contact our Customer Services team on 0300 456 4566.
