      Hi all.

just been awarded full pip/dls and now becomes the tough job of finding the correct car to get.

ive a list of certain requirements that I’d like in the car, not deal breakers, but certain things I feel would be a necessity. Is there any website (I’ve tried motaclarity) that allows you to search for certain aspects.

am based in Northern Ireland and ideally looking for a good spec suv that isn’t a ford eco sport

      thanks in advance

Not aware of a particular new car site where you can search for particular features based on spec, but Autotrader has the most searchable parameters I’ve come across. Tick the new/nearly new boxes to eliminate older models.

The Ford EcoSport was horrible, no more than a filler model made in India, but the new Puma is getting excellent reviews, so that may be a good starting point.

Seat Arona, VW T-Cross and T-Roc also good if that’s the sort of size you’re after, also Skoda Kamiq,

Thats the bad side, often you got to go and look at the specs of each model and compare the trim levels of each car you intrested in and sometimes build them to see what extras you can add if you so wish or have to do that.. depends on the maker and there site.

I need adaptive cruise control and an automatic for the slow speed follow and often it comes as part of a pack at way to much money imo.. for me everything has to be as standard up to an AP I can justify.

I’m not intending to buy the car at the end of 3 years and those extra packs cost more on top.

Sometimes it’s not easy but worth looking at because you have to keep the car in most cases for 3 years

            Appreciate the help

one of the things I’ll probably need is a raised seat position (hence suv) and automatic/electric boot

depends on the size you need, do you need to fit in a wheelchair/scooter etc.

the smaller suv’s nissan juke, seat arona, etc are at the low end of the ap scale 0 for me on wpms not sure about pip etc. but i dont think any have an automatic boot. that requirement could take you up into the premium brands unless its available as an extra.

i have the mini countryman and that doesnt have an auto boot.

the ateca and the tarraco can be specced with electric boot opening and both will carry a std wheelchair and the seats do have a lot of adjustment for height

all depends on how much ap you are willing to go to

the bmw x1 also has electric tailgate but i find it a little lower in the seating though

RIDC & Auto dimensions websites for sizes and dimensions.

Virtually any car will take manual folding wheelchair in boot without folding back seat. Karma ultra lightweight wheelchair to lease for £100/3yrs from Motability is excellent and if ordered will be with car on pick up.

Don’t have the need for a wheelchair, as yet. But it’s the stretching to reach the boot to pull it down that leaves me at times in agony.

was looking at mg hs (been advised against this), Mitsubishi asx, grand land x, Skoda karoq and Nissan quashqui
