Hint from one of our local Vauxhall dealers that the base astra gs estate is going from 799 to 1799 but might be a line to shift a stock car quickly

Another addition to the evidence that dealers do know in advance. My local Vauxhall dealer has an astra estate in stock with the advert claiming it’ll be a grand more on Monday. It is petrol however and it seems the EVs get reduced more than the ICE cars.
Obviously could just be a “get a sale” line but who knows

My tiguan has adaptive cruise so I don’t expect the enyaq to feel a lot different in that regard. As for distance to the car in front, as you get more used to it and learn to trust it more you may move it closer like I did as the longest distance tends to encourage people to nip in front of you.
Mine is set right in the middle now but whenever I’m using it, my foot still stays in position over the brake, even after 4+ years.
Drives me nuts on the rare occasion my son drives the car as he always moves it to the closest setting.

I checked with the dealer today and my 30/12 order is now in Grimsby he’s hoping he’ll have a date soon, finally no more hire car, can’t wait
Glad someone is having better luck than us. We ordered our 85x Sportline (black, no options) before that, 22nd December. A couple days before that we were told 12-14 weeks which would have been March. When we actually ordered we were told May, then given a build week of 25 eta of July/August.
We have just had an update (after asking for one) and it’s now build week 31 so delivery August/September.
I’m normally very patient but the costs are starting to add up. I’ve estimated running our diesel tiguan costs roughly £70 a month more than the Enyaq will with home charging so those 6 months of delays is literally over £400 out of my pocket.

I can’t imagine you have anything to worry about. You are absolutely allowed passengers, and as you were in the car doing something you wanted to do, that’s to your benefit as it was something you wanted. The car isn’t just there for you to do your shopping and nothing else, it’s for all of your transport needs. Someone else also benefitting WHILE you do shouldn’t matter, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to take kids to school or a whole host of other things.
The issues usually arise when named drivers are using a car in a way which doesn’t benefit the customer directly, not how the main user uses it, other than things like business or delivery/hire which are separately covered by specific exclusions.
Of course, this is all just MY opinion and shouldn’t be taken as absolute fact.

Does anyone know exactly what you “lose” when the included subscription to the online services expire (after 1 or 2 years according to various sources) – it’s difficult to narrow it down as the skoda website is vague at best and most online posts relate to other models or other VAG vehicles which MAY be the same and may not be.
With the current build times, along with the time to the end of the lease you can order something new, I think it’s pretty safe to assume we’ll all be well into year 4 of a lease before changing, so this could add up in a hurry.
I know on the current VW Tiquan I have, I “lost” the ability to check mileage, journey history and door/window lock/open status, but those things I can (and do) live without, but if it also kills functions like pre-heat in the winter, pre-cool in the summer, those are features I don’t NEED but were definitely something which made me swing towards the enyaq/ev option.

I believe the blackened sockets issue is pretty much resolved now as most granny chargers are limited well below the 13A the socket should be able to handle. Not 100% sure but I think they’re limited to 10 or 11 amps. It does reduce charge speed as a result however

Nah, not put off by that – I suppose its the dual benefit of a clean licence now along with the fact that insurance isn’t my problem lol
I use the adaptive CC on my tiguan all the time anyway, but I believe the Skoda system has the controls on the opposite side of the steering wheel – not something I think will be a problem

While I appreciate that forums and reviews/feedback tend to favour the negatives as many people tend to complain a lot more loundly than they applaud, I am starting to have serious second thoughts about the 85x I currently have on order.
My temper control isn’t what it used to be and I don’t know how well I would handle regular issues/faults – I can seriously see myself turning up at the dealer, handing back the keys and getting a taxi home followed by completely ignoring all contact if I end up with anywhere near the amount of problems I keep reading about.
Thinking about cancelling, and finding the little bit extra to get an Ioniq 5 Ultimate. Probably doesn’t help that my car has been delayed again and again. I expected to be in it a few weeks ago and am now looking at August, so every time I stick another £90 in the tank I’m getting more and more annoyed, especially as I figure the same distance driving would cost about £15-20 in the Enyaq so its “another £70 down the drain” which keeps going through my head

I wouldn’t worry about indicators seeming brighter than headlamps to the driver because of sign reflection. Got to remember that headlamps are focused to illuminate a specific area while indicators are supposed to be seen from any angle/direction

Really shouldn’t be an issue – my Skoda dealer has reduced my Enyaq twice now with me simply emailing and asking but as others have already said over and over there are plenty of negative experiences out there unfortunately

Last update I got was build week 25 which is mid-end of June with an estimated 4-6 weeks from then to collection. We ordered between Christmas and New Year if I remember correctly, but the motability site appears to be asleep at the moment
Just to clarify, got into my account and discovered my initial order was 22nd December, so a week earlier than my guesstimate in that post. As I’m hoping for end of July early August now, that make it 7 to 7 1/2 months, give or take order to expected delivery

Ordered on Oct 13th 80x sportline . It was converted to 85x sportline plus with a build date week49. It arrived in UK 8th jan and at dealers 2 days ago. Picking it up next wed and I can’t wait.
It took three months to get from the UK port to your dealers? Wow.
That post was Jan 16th, wasn’t 3 months 🙂

I was also told “around 4-6 weeks” after build date for collection.

I sat in one, never drove it, good general impressions but didn’t like the seat – felt like it was too wide and smooth, slipped around on it – may be too firm?, I’m not a small guy at over 100 kilos so don’t think that was the issue – I passed and am now waiting for an Enyaq myself

I really wanted to order one of these but the local Skoda garage attitude was horrendous, didn’t want to know and when I asked for more details and to talk to someone about motability I just got palmed off with I don’t deal with motability. This was Pulman Skoda just off the A19 Cramlington. To be fair the only garage I’ve been made to feel welcome at so far was volvo and they’ve now removed the car I wanted and trippled their aps…
You could try to get hold of Alex at pulman Durham, been nothing but helpful for us. I believe Phaedra has had some poor aftersales experience from the dealer, but I think he’d also give Alex a thumbs up.

"Man is born in freedom, but he soon becomes a slave, in cages of convention, from the cradle, to the grave."
Got a bit of good news today along with a bit of bad. Our order has been resubmitted and now has an AP to pay of £849 (85x sportline, no extras, 750 new car payment going direct to dealer) which was the good, but the bad is a build week of 25 which is towards the end of June with a 4-6 week delivery and processing time so may well be July or August now for the car which was originally expected late April, early May.
If the AP drops for a third time in Q3 I think the motability guy looking after us will get a little sick of the repeated requests for AP reductions lol.

Well, looks like I may be staying put with the enyaq, I am tempted by the e3008, but the scenic and ioniq6 which were possibles are still too much in comparison with the new lower AP on the enyaq. If the dealer won’t drop the AP on the enyaq I’ll walk away but he’s done it in the past for me and a couple times for phaedra so I don’t think that’ll be an issue.
My only other thoughts were the Smart#1 and Volvo EX30 as I have been thinking I use the wheelchair so rarely now it doesn’t need a permanent slot in the boot (and I’m almost always alone in the car) but the Volvo is too expensive and my wife really doesn’t like the Smart (although she HAS said it’s up to me – we all know what that really means!!!)

I installed a new outside light for the front of the house and now I’m sitting puffing and panting as it was (if I’m honest) beyond me. Next (after the breathing settles) is a new ceiling light in my sons bedroom and a new ceiling light in the bathroom.
1 out of 3 down, who knows how long for the other 2…. My stubborn only gets me so far….
On a side note, if I ever find out who decided it was a good idea to coat the lower half of the exterior walls with razor sharp flint fragments in some kind of stucco wall coating, I may well break my 20+ year record of not knocking anyone on their backsides….
"Man is born in freedom, but he soon becomes a slave, in cages of convention, from the cradle, to the grave."
If that e3008 gt is dropping 2 grand I can see a call coming to skoda cancelling my enyaq – why is nothing ever simple – I was just starting to look at the Renault Scenic, now I see a possible reduction on the enyaq (based on the reduction mentioned here on the coupe) – arggghhhhh lol

I think we might be in for some scary AP increases on anything electric – been plenty of recent articles floating around talking about the horrible depreciation EVs seem to be suffering after 2-3 years – this lost value has to come from somewhere for a company running mainly 3 year leases.
Saw one recently comparing a 2 year old golf to a 2 year old id3 – the golf value was down 20% in 2 years, the id3 was down by 50%.

@Colin Mine was ordered on the 10th of October and I collected it this week on Tuesday. I hope that helps? Once I was advised that it had left the factory, I was slightly quicker than I was expecting.
Does kinda help a little – I ordered just before Christmas so about 9 weeks after you, probably puts me about 8 weeks from getting the car – thankyou (well if I’m correct assuming it was a sportline 85x)
"Man is born in freedom, but he soon becomes a slave, in cages of convention, from the cradle, to the grave."
Any chance those of you who just collected/are just about to could post some order dates? I have a May delivery estimate but unsure if thats 5 weeks away or closer to 10 and still putting away the pennies to cover the AP – 5 weeks will be tight, 9 will be a breeze lol
"Man is born in freedom, but he soon becomes a slave, in cages of convention, from the cradle, to the grave."
I went enyaq, prefer the look of the car and the bigger boot – Audi was just too much AP for comfort and the id4 AP drop didn’t quite make up for what I considered the compromise from the Enyaq but thats 90% personal preference and 10% practicality so please don’t take this as a “you chose the wrong one” comment – everyone has different opinions when it comes to looks.
