All good – the flap opens fine – I did manage a whole 6 minutes before I had to go check once I thought about it lol

Well unfortunately I got hit with one of the “common” glitches the other day – car refused to go into gear because of a 12v battery issue and filler cap wouldn’t open.  Called the Skoda Assist (not RAC) and the guy was there in 45 mins, told me he reset a couple trips and cleared some codes and got me going again – no issues since but I have a constant fear every time I go to put it into gear that it’ll happen again…

Come to think of it, I haven’t actually tried the filler cap since but I’m pretty sure the Skoda Assist/AA guy had it open… Of course now I won’t be able to stop thinking about it until I check.  Sitting at 72% charge right now so if there is an issue, should have the best part of a week to figure it out…

In a review someone (can’t recall who but it was a reputable reviewer) put the Enyaq, ID4 and Audi Q4 head to head and came to the conclusion that unless the only things you cared about were the badge or screen properly integrated in the dash (in the Audi), the Enyaq was a no-brainer and definitely the best overall

the acceleration is a bit keen, eco mode may slow it down a little. I’ll try it tomorrow.

You can always get a nice smooth pull away if you start by pulling the cruise control towards yourself twice. Let the car get you started instead of trying to be delicate with the go pedal…

It’s absolutely a personal choice, you can send it back on fumes as long as it gets there.

Personally I won’t return a car with the fuel light on, but that’s about my limit. Think the Tiguan I just returned had about 80 miles on the range, light comes on between 50 and 60 on that car.

Basically, yes with the badge I have but there’s a version which just sticks on, I just appear to have ordered the wrong one. Will speak to the bodyshop tomorrow/monday and see what are the chances of damage if I change it

Great, black badge doesn’t fit over the existing badge, it’s a replacement. 50/50 on if I should fit it or not now. Thought it was just a cover thing

My company does (standard) plates and we need two things, proof of the registration and entitlement to get the plates and proof of ID for the person ordering the plates.

You’ll need to get a copy of the log book from motability. The fines for cutting corners are scary even for a first time and are usually quickly followed by an audit of every plate made recently (and recently varies) so a single confirmed unlawfully made plate can easily put a company out of business (especially if they have done it before during that audit period)

Oh I know, found you months ago but there is no friend request option (completely up to you to set things up that way). There is a send message button but when I sent a message it didn’t appear to work. Not important anyway just was trying not to clutter up this thread (which failed lol)

@Phaedra – did you say something about wanting to compare the stereo to a standard setup or has that time long passed now.

If you do want a listen, let me know.

    Collecting mine tomorrow 31st August.

Original order was 22 December – 85x with no extras in Black. 24 plate as the paperwork says it was registered on wednesday.

VIN won’t register on the MySkoda app for some reason – hopefully down to the fact that I don’t have the car yet.

Well, this arrived this morning. Shame I don’t have a car to put it on. Getting all-new excuses from the dealer now. They are claiming they cannot register the car because its a MY25 model and they need some kind of code from the DVLA as the car isn’t officially on the system yet. On top of that the rep I dealt with is on holiday and when I called the guy who is going to cover for the handover he seemed utterly disinterested and basically told me I was wrong with what I’d been told on the phone a couple days earlier.

Car is sitting 7 miles from my house after nearly 9 months of delays and the old car is going to need more fuel and adblue if this goes on much longer. More expense I don’t need.

You never know, without that job to occupy you, you may end up using the car more for leisure purposes, but only you can make that call. Either way, all the best

Hopefully getting mine Wednesday, and looking forward to the fuel savings. Tiguan is going back with less than 33k on it after 4.7 years and seem to average high 30s on the mpg so expecting a similar saving (well hoping for). I have no intention of trying to eke out every last bit of economy, will just drive it as usual, worst case scenario will probably be a minimum of 60% saving which I can definitely live with

    OI!!!!

You got my car lol. I’m waiting on a black sportline myself, just didn’t like the way the black badges looked against the blue which was my initial colour choice.

Have to agree on that bonnet badge, I’ll definitely be looking for one myself. If I can’t find one I’ll create one. Has to be one advantage to co-owning an auto paint company lol

I should add that Ohme have been on the ball, my charger was fitted within 4wks of me ordering the car 👏

Take the wins where you can – our car is currently 3 months over the initial delivery estimate and no sign of a charger. Survey done and a “no issues there” from the guy, but no progress beyond that…

I ordered a standard 85x sportline back in December and while I did have a provisional build week in June by feb/March, I only got a confirmed build week of July in response to me asking for an update in late June so it may have been confirmed a while before that.

From order to expected collection is going to be around 8 months for me

I actually had a moment at the booth where I was lost as to who to vote for. I stood there thinking definitely not Tory, are Labour just another same-old same-old as I’ve been constantly annoyed by recent “Whatever they say, say the opposite” campaigns. I thought reform briefly, as I do think we need a REAL change in government but didn’t have the confidence in general experience, so I did the traditional Northern thing and went Labour, partially because they are A change but not sure if it’ll be enough of one, and partially because I did the sheep thing and went with “the one who’s going to win anyway” as ours is a pretty safe seat for Labour.

Didn’t even vote till nearly 9pm down to general apathy but the wife pointed out “If you don’t vote, don’t complain about the result”. Being a US citizen, my wife didn’t have to make any choice, not eligible to vote anyway! I almost envied her…

IF the kia does everything you need and does it well, I wouldn’t be changing unless your personal insurance is particularly high for some reason. Motability does offer good value but it isn’t even close to free. Even with a low AP the car is likely to cost you well over £12,000 over the three years. I know you say the money isn’t an issue but it’s a good chunk of change to consider.

If you think you’d benefit from something different, eg larger, auto/manual etc. consider changing but even then, I would be very tempted to wait and see what October brings as we have just seen a horrendous spate of advance payment increases this quarter and hopefully that will change next quarter unless you can find something particularly suitable and cheap.

If you go new, you may have to look for something in stock or with a short lead time. First time customers have to have a full 12 months left on an award to start a lease and I’m not sure if they would be OK with you starting a lease with less than the year remaining. The fact that the award will almost definitely be renewed after SPA may not matter to motability.

If you don’t NEED to change, I personally wouldn’t. If suitable for your needs, the current car is new enough to expect decent reliability.

I haven’t heard much in the way of negatives when it comes to the smart#1 which is incredibly similar to the ex30, same underpinnings etc. Wonder if it was volvos part of the setup which has caused the issues.

Yeah I have contacted my supplying dealer twice now, January and April and had the AP reduced both times. I don’t think I’ll call for another adjustment this month!

Week 31 build apparently but its changed so often I have no real expectations at this point. Already gone back to full tanks of diesel in the Tiguan as I’ll easily get through it before the car gets here.

I probably overuse it to be honest, it works down to 20 in the tiguan and I regularly use it around the doors as well as on longer trips
