Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Anyone know how much Skoda dealerships charge for Diamonbrite nan Ceramic coating?
Is it any good?

August 25, 2024 at 4:41 pm #287453diamondbrite is rubbish because they aren’t the professionals in being able to care and protect the car. Ceramic coating privately is around 600 if you want it doing properly but Motability prohibit ceramic coating. Dealers will say that they ceramic coat but it’s the diamondbrite stuff which is rubbish for what it is sold as. check out honest John reviews.
2024 Skoda Enyaq estate- 85x Sportline plus in Race Blue. Extras: Supernova 21 inch wheels, Maxx Pack, Transport Pack, Heat Pump and Pano Sunroof.
Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24August 25, 2024 at 4:48 pm #287454I had the coating stuff dunno if it was that but it was £250 for motability customers reduced from £500, including scotch guarding the interior.
Aside from the coating you get a huge box of car detailing products from Autoglym which if bought separetly was very expensive but like I said I only really went for it for the interior treatment

Why would Motability prohibit a product that would protect its investment? Surely a Ceramic protected car would be a good thing for them?

August 25, 2024 at 5:30 pm #287457People on the forum have asked them in the past and they have said no. Interestingly, I have a motorhome and every time I remet insurance, they specifically as if it has been ceramic coated as it’s prohibited. I think it’s a completely bonkers approach. Like you say- if it protects the car then surely that’s good. I believe if you get bodywork done it can get tricky with ceramic coating.

Going to sound really negative but I can neither afford or want to spend £250/£500 on a paint protection product for a car I dont even own!
August 25, 2024 at 5:45 pm #287461So don’t buy it, I didn’t do it for the paint I got it for the scotch guard interior coating for my benefit as we have dogs and teenagers.
You get a new car payment I used a portion of that plus you pay on collection so there’s plenty of time to save up. Equally no ones making you have it I certainly don’t care who does what and I’m not advocating either way. The question was asked so I answered it.
The reduction in AP also contributed and I got a grant for the AP so my contribution was that. Had I funded it myself I probably wouldn’t have bothered

August 26, 2024 at 7:23 pm #287486So sorry- should have been clearer. You need to have the skoda app and have the car registered to it so be able to see its status etc
I’ve downloaded the app but it asks me for a VIN number to register a car to it.
August 26, 2024 at 7:26 pm #287487The app trick will only be good to see if your dealer has been telling you porkies after delivery- you can’t access it until you get your VIN or car. It would be awesome is Skoda allowed it early because then nobody would be bothering the dealer as they could see when their car was built!

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24August 27, 2024 at 2:19 pm #287517If you go to the infotainment screen tap Car top right then flip to second screen there’s an offers button.
There’s an Ovo offer for 3 months free light boost which gets you a 10% discount per kwh charging at lots of networks. It’s only worth £6 (plus whatever you save on charging) but every little bit helps.
There’s also a few other reasonable offers like fog food and readly

A deal has been agreed. £500 off the cost of the extras plus a FREE Autoglym Lifeshine Ceramic treatment inside & out as compensation for the error & upset. Bearing in mind they reduced the AP by £600 when it dropped. So all in all, a happy bunny!
Plus I’m not forking out the £2K now for the advance pack now!
Collection next Wednesday all being well!
Happy Days!

August 27, 2024 at 10:07 pm #287536That diamond pack is a huge box of autoglym stuff plus what they put on the car inside and out. Dunno what it is but it makes dog hair just blow straight out of the car.
You’re going to love the car it’s awesome plus you’re two grand better off too. Really pleased you’re sorted.
August 28, 2024 at 9:29 pm #287581Great news. Enjoy the car.

Well, this arrived this morning. Shame I don’t have a car to put it on. Getting all-new excuses from the dealer now. They are claiming they cannot register the car because its a MY25 model and they need some kind of code from the DVLA as the car isn’t officially on the system yet. On top of that the rep I dealt with is on holiday and when I called the guy who is going to cover for the handover he seemed utterly disinterested and basically told me I was wrong with what I’d been told on the phone a couple days earlier.Car is sitting 7 miles from my house after nearly 9 months of delays and the old car is going to need more fuel and adblue if this goes on much longer. More expense I don’t need.

August 29, 2024 at 1:15 pm #287618Get on to the ceo at motability they’ll kick the dealers bum. After collection make sure you leave a suitable review everywhere for said dealer lol.
If it were me I’d contact the dealer principle and make your displeasure known
August 29, 2024 at 6:46 pm #287627Got an email from my dealer today to say my car is in the UK. Hopefully pick it up next weekend.
August 29, 2024 at 8:09 pm #287631@Elliot great news, when did you order? It gives everyone else an idea how long they’ll wait.
August 30, 2024 at 8:13 am #287635Great news for you, we’ve all waited patiently long enough!
Mine should be ready for collection on Wednesday, feeling quite excited now!

August 30, 2024 at 9:22 am #2876377000 trouble free miles and now seem to have brewed up a problem, twice now I’ve went to brake and the pedal was hard and the blue braking line wasn’t going up, first time I put it down to a possible mis stepping but now it’s happened again I feel there could be a problem

First week in January
August 30, 2024 at 10:43 am #287639Collecting mine tomorrow 31st August.
Original order was 22 December – 85x with no extras in Black. 24 plate as the paperwork says it was registered on wednesday.
VIN won’t register on the MySkoda app for some reason – hopefully down to the fact that I don’t have the car yet.
