@Olpk was that Pulman Durham? I picked mine up Jan 24 with a 100% charge, no charge for it.

      It was Pulman Sunderland.

The whole experience of using them in the nearly 2.5 years I’ve had the car has been terrible. It makes coping with the issues Enyaqs suffer from just a pain.

I’m ending early and changing brands as the dealer and the car have been a pain.

just had a read of this https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news/motability-new-statement-over-60-minute-drive-limit-concerns-as-new-black-box-rules-come-in/ar-AA2114vv?ocid=winp2fptaskbar&cvid=b917b4d7c4004c51a030eea2b7b8899b&ei=12 Cars will be equipped with telematics technology that monitors driving behaviour, including speed and braking patterns, generating a weekly assessment of green, amber or red. Motability says that safe motorists (those maintaining green status) could receive up to £160 annually in rewards to spend – though drivers accumulating four red assessments within a 12-month period risk being removed from the Motability scheme. Lets say your on the motorway and the police and ambulance comes up be hide you and you have to put your foot down to get out of the way i wonder if you was to get a red mark for that :-0

You shouldn’t be exceeding the speed limit even in those circumstances.

You can be prosecuted for speeding for doing this the same way as you can’t pass through a red light to make space for an emergency vehicle.

I cannot get a home charger as I don’t have off road parking so I’ve been reading on here that you shouldn’t get an ev without home charger. I only do around 4k miles per year and I live around 600 yards from multiple charge points so would it be feasible to go for an ev when time to order next vehicle. The reason I’m thinking ev is because currently have a petrol sportage and I’m sick and tired of the multiple ppf issues because I do short trips.

No reason why you couldn’t run with a granny charger plugging in to a 3 pin socket if you’ve got a driveway as you’re doing such little mileage. Plug in every night and keep it topped up.

The only real benefit from a home charger is the faster charging but doesn’t sound like you do enough miles to warrant one.

Was this thought of on April 1st?

With all the changes MB are struggling to remain competitive and using the changes they’ve made to counteract the Gov changes.

If your extremely lucky prices may stay the same.

A mass exodus from the scheme because of the changes could adversely affect prices.

Your “first” visit to a dealer must be before April 13th to avoid new to scheme requirements. Applications placed by a dealer on or after April 13 have new to scheme Drive Smart requirements (as well as under 30 year old requirements). (Formally those at the Eligibility stage on OLA – so any application that is filled out and posted for Motability to consider) But most customers incorrectly call this ‘order placement stage’

              Hope you’re right.

I’ve just agreed an early termination so Ive got an appointment in the morning to order the new car.

I’ve been on the scheme over a decade so the clause regarding early termination making you a “new customer” is a bit ridiculous.

You never know they might put the GTS as it don’t make sense how they gave a price to it and lowered the price in GT model! I’m hoping they sort things out with KIA and put it back

That’s my hopes, why would the car appear in the system with a price if it wasn’t being considered.

The suggested vehicles above either don’t have the space or range I need.

                  So the April date.

Is that for orders placed after that date or cars delivered after that date?

Unfortunately Enyaq is not an option.

I’m 2.5 years into an Enyaq 85x and I’m changing early as I’m finding it difficult to get in and out due to degeneration of my spine.

I need a more upright SUV style car with a better door aperture. The Enyaq is too car like rather than SUV.

I wish I’d been given the option to pay for a charge.

Pulman Skoda handed over my car with 15% in winter. I had 4 miles left when I got home.

They weren’t remotely concerned and said I could charge somewhere on my way home.

Unfortunately, because Toms daughter was newly qualified (3mths) and with just 6 penalty points within 2 years of passing her test her licence would be automatic revoked for the stated period.

                          That isn’t the same thing.

Gaining 6 points as a new driver revokes your license and purely means you start from scratch and have to retake your driving tests as soon as you like

That is not a driving ban. A driving ban is given for an offence and as a new driver if the offence includes sufficient points to also revoke your license then you have to complete the ban then retake your tests.

A revoked license due to points is not a ban.

My 85x was in for it’s 2yr service 2 weeks ago.

Went in on a Friday with them confident it was coming back the same day. Rang late on Friday claiming issues and I told them they could keep it until Saturday but I need my car back then. Then they claimed it was stuck and needed it until Monday then finally got it back Tuesday.

It’s funny how tracking the car on the app showed no activity on the car from Friday until Monday.

The update wouldn’t work on the Monday as it flagged a sensor error as I could watch the details in the app.

Now I’ve been left with a car that suddenly has charge flap issues and keeps going through periods of frantically repeatedly ringing Skoda breakdown.

Skoda and their dealers are just crap

The first was built and arrived at the docks in UK but not at the dealer. I cancelled as a higher spec model came onto the scheme.

I cancelled the second when the AP was suddenly halfed.

Only disappointing thing about the EV4 is that you can’t get the GT Line S, which means you miss out on a number of things (the heat pump availability for example) and there is no way to add some of the missing stuff (memory seats for example) onto the other versions. In a perfect world you could add memory seats, heatpump and the HUD to the Air trim. But that’s not how Kia do stuff :(. Plus, and I know it’s a bit ‘marmite’, I prefer the fastback version’s design haha.

I certainly wouldn’t be worried about buying an EV without a heat pump. I’ve had an Enyaq without one for 2 years this week and never needed one. Real world tests by motoring journalist showed the same set up in a VW with a heat pump barely improved range by 5% and you would need to do in excess of 85k miles to recoup the cost.

                                      Simply not worth it.

I find the changes and classifications quite curious.

They remove “coupe” and “convertible” cars as motability customers shouldn’t be driving non practicle sports cars.

But remove the coupe variants of the Skoda Enyaq.

An SUV which uses the coupe descriptive purely to describe the style of tailgate. Something SUV,s from all brands do.

Yet motability can’t even get that right.

So instead of doing their job properly by removing PIP from those who shouldn’t have it, they invent a way to penalise those in genuine receipt.

They clearly have no clue about cars suitable for a disabled persons needs.

I need an SUV as I’m tall with spinal arthritis and can’t bend to get in a car. So I’m automatically stuck with expensive cars so with VAT my ap will rise.

My mobility car is my only release from being stuck indoors so the mileage cap will restrict my life unless I pay extra mileage costs.

This is all discriminating against me.

Creating rules to penalise us instead of doing the job they should be doing is a discriminatory cop out.

Stupid thing they don’t realise if I get a fiesta or a BMW the benefit payment transferred to motability is the same . Any cars with cheaper payments I still get the rest of the benefit. So they won’t save anything there.

So the changes just penalise those who use their own money to pay the AP.

Those getting a grant will just need a bigger grant so no savings there.

On top of that the EV I thought it was my duty to buy is now going to be taxed 3 ways. Road tax, 5% vat on my electricity and now mileage tax two of which I need to find the money for.

They’ve picked easy targets because they know the stupid members of the public will support them as they think we all get free cars.

Skoda changed to a direct sales model last year.

This took away any control dealers have over discounts on cars or options as they lost their flexibility as Skoda controls pricing.

Under the old system a dealer would buy stock from Skoda then sell it to you for whatever they liked to make a profit.

Now the dealers are basically sales agents for Skoda.

So unless Skoda offers a deal then I think the days of dealer discounts may be gone.

                                                I always drive in B.

It’s vastly more economical than D on the journeys I do if you master the one foot driving style to make the most of the regen. I’m 40k miles in and tried D on different journeys but just not as good.

My wife prefers D without touching the paddles or doing one foot. She likes an easy life. But I get much better economy than her.

I lost interest in the paddles very quickly after getting the car as they just overcomplicate the driving.

I never use adaptive cruise as it isn’t economical enough. Cruise is only economical if your car maintains a constant pace. Normal cruise managed that and you just needed to overtake to keep your pace going. Adaptive cruise slowing the car down defeats the object and you just burn more energy speeding back up.

Don’t get stuck in the idea the dealership has to be the same brand as your car.

Contact motability when you have and issue and see if they offer an alternative based on your needs .

Same with general servicing. There is no rules that say you have to go to the same brand dealer to maintain your service history as long as standards are met. See if motability would let you go elsewhere.

The spec of the Sportline still includes HUD etc. You can view either the current brochure for spec or the Skoda website and it details it’s still included.

The 85 and 85x Sportline are just 2wd or 4wd versions of the same car which they used to have in the past but removed the option when the 24 model released so they are just going back to how it was .

The MAXX is the same spec car but your just getting the upgrade package of the MAXX pack at a discounted rate. It’s not a specific model of car . It’s quite common for this to happen on motability and several brands do it to give you more discounted options. On occasion some options get included free of charge.

Again if you download the brochure it details what the MAXX pack adds to the car if you buy that .

Driving a rear drive EV is not even remotely comparable to driving a rear drive ICE car.

Firstly the Ballance of the car is totally different as the weight is more evenly distributed through the vehicle. Then you have the driver aids to assist you.

Whilst you may get a bit of a kick out it would only be slight before the car reigns everything in if you leave all drivers aids on.

I’ve had the rear loosen on my enyaq and it rapidly fixes everything itself.

You don’t get the old issues of grip in snow either as that used to be down to lack of weight over the driven wheels. Old advice used to be to stick a bag of sand in your boot over winter to add weight. In an EV the weight of the battery pack does that for you.
