Dropped off this morning at 9am, explained the 12v battery is not fit for purpose etc. etc. and they said it would be looked at as part of the recall, just read up on it online and it’s not even mentioned!.

More good news, I’d already advised them I needed another Enyaq or at least a Karoq due to being 6′ 5″+ with mobility problems, they gave me a Skoda Kamiq !!!!

Was either that or come back another day/week but with no promise as to what would be available 🙁

Just managed to get into it, which surprised me!, worked out how to start it, then sat for 15m while it de-iced, drove off, touched the brakes as I approached the exit of the car park and almost ended up through the windscreen!!!

Brakes are vicious! a very light touch at low speed (1st gear) and the thing nose dives! compared to the spongy Enyaq it’s about 1000% more “grabby”!! OK at speed but quite “sharp” shall we say at low speed!.

Hopefully getting mine back tomorrow they say, we’ll see 🙂

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Ours was in for the same service/software update last week.

Due to a faulty A/C sensor it was in for 4 days. The update wouldn’t get past the A/C fault, so they had to wait for a new one.

I also explained about the 12V battery & keyless entry. The service guy made a note but offered no response, even though it had been in before for the same fault pre winter last year.

The following morning due to the cold snap the keyless entry failed again, however the last two mornings its worked. Although the pre heating wouldn’t activate as the car wouldn’t wake up after the cold night. So it seems the 12V issue is never going to be sorted, even though they must no about it. Every winter its the same.

Apart from these issues the car us great and would deffo be looking for the same, with the current offerings.

I have same issues- the garage couldn’t update the software in one day and Motability refused to provide me with an adapted vehicle – it is now outsourced to RCA or something like this.

So they returned the car without the upgrade.  But I didn’t know it has to be serviced after two years.  Have no intention to send the car to the garage without a courtesy one.

          Sent from a mobile device.

I shocked how you even got in a Kamiq, let alone drove it😂

              Me too!!!   🙂

Bit of a struggle but full of painkillers so that took the edge off 🙂  Glad to be back home though 🙂

They’d like me to top it up with petrol before bringing it back, has 1/4 tank, showed 110 range, drove about 9 miles and now showing 85! So not just EV’s with Guess-O-Meters  😀

I’ll do the decent thing and stick £5’s worth in it before taking it back, that should cover the 18 miles use! :p

Well, just had the phone call!

Quelle surprise! (as our French friends would say!) it’s buggered! (so not a surprise really!).

Can’t get the software to take, I looked at it on the App earlier and it said it had 5.4 in it, but, they can’t get it to work, tried it 3 times then gave up.  Will have to ring Skoda tech support on Monday and hopefully sort it.

So a weekend at home then, don’t fancy driving the Kamiq at all if I can avoid it!.

                  Hi,

My Audi Q4 has now fallen fowl of the dreaded 12v battery issues. Was due in for 2 year service today, but gave up earlier in the week. Had to be recovered as Audi Assist could not get it started and I think every warning light possible went off, before it gave up completely.  Even parking brake would not go on, nor lock.  Luckily it was at home, on a flat surface.

Been I two days now, reporting fault, but still need to do further tests apparently, but hoping they can fix and return at some point next week.

                  Thanks

why are they updating the software if they know its not working? Bonkers!

                      Update.

They sent an enquiry to the factory after they bricked in on Friday.
Skoda sent them a “hot fix to the computer” which they applied yesterday and once again today which has …… bricked it yet again 🙁

So, another enquiry sent to the factory this morning followed by “sit back and wait as we have no idea how to fix it” 🙁

                          @kezo Brilliant! hadn’t thought of that 🙂

Problem is what next? can’t very well say the Enyaq is crap and then order another one of those 🙂

There’s no Elroq, their new 7 seater Peaq isn’t here yet and will be very expensive!  So that leaves Omoda or Jaecoo E5’s, Suzuki E-Vitara (all with a smaller range) or Ford Explorer (expensive) or possibly the refreshed Toyota BZX4 if the door shape is different and I can actually get into it!.

No doubt I’ll just have to wait and start looking in Sept/October  🙂

Who was it on here, that had an early termination on a Born, then termminated the 2nd Born, so I don’t think it matters, plus the Enyak is the new model, so not exactly like for like.

                            Something worth considering!

have the acknowledged and 12v battery fault or has this been overlooked because of this terribly common issue where version 5 bricks the car?

Service receptioon told me part of the 5.4.3 “upgrade” is to help with the 12v issues.

From what I’ve seen online the new 5.6. hasn’t improved things or addressed many of the other issues owners have asked for.

My 85x was in for it’s 2yr service 2 weeks ago.

Went in on a Friday with them confident it was coming back the same day. Rang late on Friday claiming issues and I told them they could keep it until Saturday but I need my car back then. Then they claimed it was stuck and needed it until Monday then finally got it back Tuesday.

It’s funny how tracking the car on the app showed no activity on the car from Friday until Monday.

The update wouldn’t work on the Monday as it flagged a sensor error as I could watch the details in the app.

Now I’ve been left with a car that suddenly has charge flap issues and keeps going through periods of frantically repeatedly ringing Skoda breakdown.

Skoda and their dealers are just crap

My App shows no activity today either.  There’s a few users on the FB Elroq & Enyaq group that had issues updating and afterwards with the 5.4.3 update.  I watched Matthias Speicher’s YouTube videos on the update and it’s a massive list of things in the car that are updated, not just the core operating system.

Unfortunately Matthias has closed “Electrified Speicher” in its current form,

After Tuesday mornings call from the dealer I’ve not heard anything further.

So I just rang them, they sent the email to the factory first thing Tuesday morning but haven’t had any reply. They say they have to wait 3 working days before following it up (with another email to the factory).

Not impressed, I’ve already toild them the Kamiq loaner isn’t suitable but they’re not interested, nothing they can do about any of it 🙁

you have options I guess- hire car from motability or them agreeing taxi if suitable. I am almost 6ft and the kamiq was fine for me as a courtesy car. My dealer only provide those or fabia. They don’t provide electric which is their probative I guess ut they are missing a trick in my opinion. I must call my dealer to book mine in for its service and suggest they have a courtesy available. I will ask them to look at the battery also but I am resigned to live with it as it is with 12 months left. Ive considered handing back early but it would be a triple  loss of the AP, GC payment and the extras I paid for. Still undecided if I will attempt to buy it after it is sold by motability (if I can find it) but my employers salary sacrifice scheme I think looks like a viable option for me at this stage on my life which is more flexible than motability. Tyres for example- no limits on the number which relieves anxiety. Mileage is tailorable and whatever vehicle I go for, no deposit. Keeping an eye on this duty tax too and if the UKG make another U turn as I may go hybrid next if I dont buy the Enyaq.

                                                  Sorted!
Just been and picked it up.  Apparently they left it running last night and the update went through.

So far seems OK apart from a few noticeable differences.

                                                  1. As soon as I drove off it came up saying there were 6 Apps that needed to be updated!, thought they would have been done at the dealers.

                                                  2. The ACC has now been set to come on with lane assist activated, think I managed to switch it back off but will see when I go out again.

                                                  3.  The tones for using the screen and exiting the car have changed, and not for the better in my opinion, I’ll have to see if I can change them back.

                                                  4. Apart from my rear drivers tyre the other 3 are at 3mm, I’ve only done 11,900 miles on them!, Bridgestones of course 🙁  The other is at 5mm.  Luckily there’s no excessive inner/outer wear.
Motability of course won’t replace them until 2mm despite their partner the RAC saying it should be done at 3mm.

                                                  5. Forgot to mention, Kessy not working!, luckily it was just turned off in the menu settings!, just checked and it works with both keys!.

I may give a it a run out over the weekend, not sure as several people have reported various faults coming up after the software “upgrade” so I may just potter about for a week to see if anything shows up!.  Then again I may not as there’s not a dry night to charge it for the next 10 days or so according to the BBC!.

And 1 major difference, it’s had a wash!!!

So I’ve just returned from the dealership, I had to get the spare key re coded.

I mentioned the keyless entry issue whilst sat waiting. The technician informed the service guy that, Skoda deem any dirt on the handle can effect the keyless entry. LOL my car wasn’t showroom clean but deffo presentable. Upshot is lets see how you get on.

                                                      That’s quite poor tyre wear.

I got 36k miles out of my first set of Hankook and that was down to 2mm

11,000 on mine and kiwi fit had t replace them all as they were low. in their words [after I said I was astonished].”we see wear like this all the time in electric cars”. I am awaiting my warning email from motability that ive used up half of my tyre quota…

Yesterday I had the 12v warning on the dash flash up saying visit the workshop but it then went off. I checked dthe app for the cars health and it said it wa s”all good”… Wish I had taken a photo as the dealership for sure will say they cant replicate the fault. Meanwhile, I am still having issues with kessy etc. My strategy to try and keep the 12v battery topped up by scheduling auto climate twice a day has now worked unfortunately..

                                                        Oh well!
