Dropped off this morning at 9am, explained the 12v battery is not fit for purpose etc. etc. and they said it would be looked at as part of the recall, just read up on it online and it’s not even mentioned!.

More good news, I’d already advised them I needed another Enyaq or at least a Karoq due to being 6′ 5″+ with mobility problems, they gave me a Skoda Kamiq !!!!

Was either that or come back another day/week but with no promise as to what would be available 🙁

Just managed to get into it, which surprised me!, worked out how to start it, then sat for 15m while it de-iced, drove off, touched the brakes as I approached the exit of the car park and almost ended up through the windscreen!!!

Brakes are vicious! a very light touch at low speed (1st gear) and the thing nose dives! compared to the spongy Enyaq it’s about 1000% more “grabby”!! OK at speed but quite “sharp” shall we say at low speed!.

Hopefully getting mine back tomorrow they say, we’ll see 🙂

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Ours was in for the same service/software update last week.

Due to a faulty A/C sensor it was in for 4 days. The update wouldn’t get past the A/C fault, so they had to wait for a new one.

I also explained about the 12V battery & keyless entry. The service guy made a note but offered no response, even though it had been in before for the same fault pre winter last year.

The following morning due to the cold snap the keyless entry failed again, however the last two mornings its worked. Although the pre heating wouldn’t activate as the car wouldn’t wake up after the cold night. So it seems the 12V issue is never going to be sorted, even though they must no about it. Every winter its the same.

Apart from these issues the car us great and would deffo be looking for the same, with the current offerings.

I have same issues- the garage couldn’t update the software in one day and Motability refused to provide me with an adapted vehicle – it is now outsourced to RCA or something like this.

So they returned the car without the upgrade.  But I didn’t know it has to be serviced after two years.  Have no intention to send the car to the garage without a courtesy one.

          Sent from a mobile device.

I shocked how you even got in a Kamiq, let alone drove it😂

              Me too!!!   🙂

Bit of a struggle but full of painkillers so that took the edge off 🙂  Glad to be back home though 🙂

They’d like me to top it up with petrol before bringing it back, has 1/4 tank, showed 110 range, drove about 9 miles and now showing 85! So not just EV’s with Guess-O-Meters  😀

I’ll do the decent thing and stick £5’s worth in it before taking it back, that should cover the 18 miles use! :p

Well, just had the phone call!

Quelle surprise! (as our French friends would say!) it’s buggered! (so not a surprise really!).

Can’t get the software to take, I looked at it on the App earlier and it said it had 5.4 in it, but, they can’t get it to work, tried it 3 times then gave up.  Will have to ring Skoda tech support on Monday and hopefully sort it.

So a weekend at home then, don’t fancy driving the Kamiq at all if I can avoid it!.

                  Hi,

My Audi Q4 has now fallen fowl of the dreaded 12v battery issues. Was due in for 2 year service today, but gave up earlier in the week. Had to be recovered as Audi Assist could not get it started and I think every warning light possible went off, before it gave up completely.  Even parking brake would not go on, nor lock.  Luckily it was at home, on a flat surface.

Been I two days now, reporting fault, but still need to do further tests apparently, but hoping they can fix and return at some point next week.

                  Thanks
