As we all know now, from July the annual mileage will be halved to 10,000 miles per annum and the excess will be heavily charged – 25p per mile.
Will the forum agree, that despite adding VAT to the advanced payment, the AP will be lower due to this significant mileage redaction?

Those things could be easily mitigated with clear and concise messages from Motability to the wider public.
Sadly when you are a monopoly and the managers pull nice salary without working as hard as they would in a

With all the changes MB are struggling to remain competitive and using the changes they’ve made to counteract the Gov changes.
If your extremely lucky prices may stay the same.
A mass exodus from the scheme because of the changes could adversely affect prices.
I’m sick of it. Frankly I shall be relieved when we no longer carry the stigma of being scheme customers, although I shall remain defensive of the scheme when I hear people spouting utter garbage about it.
@glos-guy Don’t think it ends when you get the new Beemer. The problem is that if and whenever you park the new Beemer in a disabled parking bay, or use a blue badge, many of those uneducated people will still assume it is a Motability vehicle! Therefore you and your vehicle will still be tarred by the same brush so to speak. I have been asked a few times if my Grenadier is, to quote one oik recently at Waitrose in Harrogate, ‘a Moby car’! As I don’t ever speak with spotty oiks (at Waitrose or otherwise) I simply blanked him, but no doubt he thinks Grenadiers are available ‘for free’ on the scheme! No doubt, when I get the new X6 as well, the same will occur. I wonder what they would make of the T7.270? A case of guilty by association (by virtue of using a disabled bay or blue badge) in many of the public’s eyes!

I shall either respond to them with “You should know that it’s not, as Neanderthal types like you convinced our lame Chancellor that BMWs were far too good for Motability customers”, or “Yep, it’s a ‘free’ £110k car paid for by hard working tax payers whilst I sit on my ar#e”. However, I shall only deliver those lines as I pull away – at speed 🤣
In response to the OP’s original question; I don’t think AP’s will change dramatically in Q3 either way. The whole point of making the lease terms better for Motability is to trim costs so that there doesn’t need to be any massive increases in AP’s. They’ll be forecasting 5 to 10 years in advance and have ample reserves to ride out the changes while things settle down.
On the VAT debate, they’ve known for some time that they would have to shoulder the VAT on the vast majority of orders this quarter. I’m sure they’ll claw it all back over time, big business is very much a long term game.
