You should always try more than one comparison site.
The prices are different for the same companies and the same cover as some of the sites make deals with specific insurers.
I saved £70 on my bike insurance and £120 on my second car for the same policies showing on confused and compared the market. Even checking the small print
Production model changeover is usually done around week 39 when the factory closes, the current 85 series Enyaqs were announced around April 2023 (if I recall correctly) then started arriving into the UK late November-early December 2023.
The press release confirming factory changeover to the 85 didn’t come out until September 23 and factory production commenced in November. New cars arrived in the UK in January. I got one of the first.
There was uproar from customers as the changes didn’t occur during the shut down as they had in the past.
I ordered an 80 and got an 85 as it was purely down to when your build week was and not when you ordered.
Order books for the facelift open January 9th in “some” EU markets according to the press release . Germany where taking orders for the 85 a month before the factory changed over.
With what is a minor facelift who knows as Skoda are not the best at communicating and their dealers are useless
Enyaq 85x
5500 miles done since beginning of January.
In the cold 240-250 miles at 100%
Now warmer 290 ish miles
Got my card this morning
One major issue straight away is I currently use chargers which are free from MER.
The motability card app lists these as either 78pkw or 58pkw plus an overstay charge.
Question is does that mean if I trigger a charge with the motability card am I going to be charged these prices.
Think I’ll stick to the MER app
Hi Could somone please tell me the real range (ish) of the 85x ? I have read (phedra) saying 85x owners are having range issues Could somone enlighten me on how bad this is. As I regularly to a 240mile round trip 4 adults and baggage. Thank you
I’ve got the 85x and a full charge to 100% give a trip reading of 255 miles.
That’s mixed driving and the occasional heavy acceleration from traffic lights, you’ll know why if you get one.
So I only came across this forum a few days ago after being totally obsessed at looking at every review and site that talks about the Enyaq 80 Sportline plus while I wait very impatiently for mine. ??♀️ From doing that I discovered that whilst most people loved the Enyaq, that there had been issues with it, mainly with the infotainment system, so when I saw there was a new and upgraded model 85 coming out which irons out man if these issues, I am ashamed to say that I couldn’t help feeling a tad annoyed and wishing I could have the newer model. I noticed on here that a number of people were being upgraded from the 80/80x to the 85/85x so I obviously had to call the dealer today and wanted to update you what I was told. I ordered an 80 Sportline plus on 12th October and my car is now in the UK awaiting delivery to the dealer. The dealer took a look on his system and could see that whilst the order still stated the 80, that the manufacturer details is saying an 85 Sportline plus has been built!! He did say he didn’t want to confirm it officially to me until he could see it in person, but that he was fairly confident that it was an 85!! I am so chuffed and cannot wait for the handover! ? Just to add that my motability account is still showing the 80, so assume this will change in the coming days or on collection. I hope this helps some others who are keen to know what they might be getting, but it does look like any 80’s ordered before 31st October but built after November will have the upgrade!!!
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I will confirm exactly what I get hopefully next week, fingers crossed!! ?</p>
Some of us ordered before you and already have 85,s so it’s pretty sure thing it’s an 85.
Don’t worry about what the motability order says as mine didn’t change until I asked them to all the way up to days before delivery.
It only got changed as I asked the dealer to resubmit for an AP change.
We ordered an 80 and according to the dealer, the car at the exit port awaiting transport to us is an 85 Edition. The AP for the base 80, when we ordered, was more than the 85 Edition is now and there is no base 85 model.
This is starting to get stupidly repetitive.
Skoda have built 85 non edition base models to meet orders for 80 base models and have also built non X sportlines. They have already appeared on Skoda stock.
The fact you can’t go and order an 85 base isn’t relevant.
That will be a rare care in the UK then won’t it . I have seen on other thread’s that the 80 sport line was been delivered as the 85x sport line. I am interested to see what yiu will be getting. From what I have seen on other forums every 80 sportline that is now been delivered is a 85x . Sounds like they are making 1 just for you in right hand drive.
Not at all . There are quite a few people getting converted to models you can’t order.
A lot of ordered cars flash up on the Skoda stock list before they get delivered to owners.
There has already been a few 85 non X sportline plus on there and also 85 non edition models which don’t exist.
A leaked Skoda document from months ago showed orders will be converted to an 85 equivalent regardless of the vehicle not being available in our market.
I opted for the Enyaq due to looks
I prefer the fact it still looks like a normal car. I know my grille is fake but at least I have one. I hate the EV,s that look too much like an EV.
When choosing I dismissed the ID range of VW as they just look dull. No style at all . That’s from a VW fan handing back a VW. The Q4 too pricey and under specced.
The reductions in Enyaq AP helped a lot.
I considered other EV,s but was put off by either AP price or designed I didn’t like .
The dash cam I was looking at for the Enyaq just plugs into the rain sensor power supply by a piggyback connector. So, in theory it can be un-plugged! And the way it fits, it causes no damage, just replaces a piece of trim which can be replaced later. I would imagine Motability are concerned about damage to interior trims more than anything, or poorly Carried out DIY installs causing electrical damage which, is fair on their part.
That’s still classed as ‘hard wired’. Hard wiring of a cam normally means using a piggyback off another circuit which is basically what you would be doing.
It’s not just vehicle trim damage they worry about , it’s breaching the vehicle warranty by making an unauthorised modification to standard specification.
In your case if your car ever developed rain sensor problems you can imagine what they are going to blame.
I’m sure there are plenty who have done it without issue as people have stated but that’s just out of luck they haven’t had an issue for a manufacturer to blame the hard wiring on.
Now in an EV where everything is electrical and sometimes glitchy (which I’ve already experienced on my new 85x) adding an electrical item into the loop is asking for trouble.
I ordered an ‘Arctic Silver’ (light green metallic) on my 85x on the 27th December, that was no problem. The only colour not available is the Velvet red. JoJoe, those aren’t Skoda colours I think.
They are Skoda colours and the exact same set up as the wall I looked at. Pretty sure that is royal green which I wanted just below the lighter blue.
Royal green is a Skoda colour but not for the Enyaq.
The colour samples at a dealer are not available on all models. The Enyaq colours are listed in the brochure and on the configurator .
Hi @Dragonfly I am convinced that i didn’t get all the questions wrong despite the instructors saying that i was the only person in attendance with zero correct answers. Particularly in relation to the max permissible speed on a UK dual carriageway. My answer was ’50mph’ which according to them was wrong. I replied at the time ‘we’ll have to agree to disagree then’ which i must admit didn’t go down well with the instructors.
The national speed limit for a car on a single carriageway with no central reserve is
60mph
The limit on a dual carriageway with a fixed central reserve is
70mph
Another way a lot of people get confused is they think ‘Dual’ means 2 lanes (or more) in each direction .
One lane in each direction separated by a fixed central reserve is still a ‘dual’ carriageway.
The ‘dual’ means two separated paved surfaces .
The surface can be one lane wide for each .
I’m looking for one also.
Like the look of the Road Angel Halo Pro.
Just looking at options for plugging one in since your not allowed to have them hard wired.
I was told different the other day. I was told that the royal green was not free. I think I may enquire about it.
“Royal Green” the only green offered is Hyper Green which is only on the VRS which isn’t on the scheme.
I’ve ordered 3 cars this year.
The first was built and got to the port in the UK and was ready to be sent to the dealer for delivery to me , after a 12 week wait from initial order . I cancelled as an AP drop made a higher spec car come within my budget.
You don’t really need to consult with Motability about changing unless you’ve gone over the 5 year limit already. If not then just cancel and reorder with Volvo
I had my previous car 5 1/2 years. As long as you order within the 5 years they just extend until order is delivered.
The ride and handling on the standard 20″ wheels is really good .
You can whizz around but push too hard and you notice the weight.
Performance is very brisk, even overtaking on A roads on a 25% SOC is very quick.
Performance is instant when pulling away, no hesitation
You won’t be disappointed, I’ve had a lot of cars but this is my first EV and I can’t take the smile off my face.
85x is just amazing. I’m just finding any excuse for a drive.
Not quite right. Morability rules are that the price should not change once a contract has been agreed. If a dealer wants to reduce that price, they can, if they want to increase the price (in certain circumstances, change of model etc) they can, but not if the contract doesn’t change. https://www.motability.co.uk/how-it-works/payments/
Why should any Motability customer pay £400 more for the same car? This is just profiteering, all dealers should offer this refund as part of their standard Motability service ( as confirmed by other posts in this thread). Vote with your feet (if you’re happy to wait longer for the same car) and save £400.??
Because that’s the rules you order under. Dealers adjusting orders to your benefit is technically bending the rules.
If anyone kicks up a fuss about a practice that realistically shouldn’t be happening then all that MB will do is bring in rules to stop dealers doing it.
Yes you can cancel and reorder and best doing that rather than cause issues.
Has anyone bought & fitted one of these dashcams? They look straight forward to fit, just piggyback the rain sensor connection. The video on Youtube is in Spanish but I think it looks easy enough. They come in the two colours too to match the headlining.

Your not allowed to fit anything that is considered a modification to the car. That includes hard wiring a dash cam stuck to your windscreen never mind one built into the car.
You are only allowed to run a dash cam off an accessory socket.
Ordered an Enyaq in September , dealer confirmed Skoda accepted the order within a day or so.
Didn’t get a build week date until a couple of months later.
My order was accepted by the factory within a day or two of the order being placed but still took weeks to get a build date.
January 3, 2024 at 12:39 pm in reply to: New Q1 AP Drops in Price ASK the Dealer for the New Lower AP #253606I stand to be corrected but I think the salesman is taking the whole process too personally. I understand nobody wants to be told how to do there job, however needs must. If he doesn’t want to do it than thats upto him, just like I can reorder with another dealership. I was one of many that had there order cancelled when Skoda/Motability couldn’t agree about the upgrade from 80 to 85. The dealer cancelled my order the day before the 85 was added back onto the scheme, so he’s not my favourite person. I don’t know for sure but its likely he was aware of this fact.
I’ve just had mine updated today. To be fair the sales girl was unsure what to do as changing an order was new to her.
They only need to change the order on the motability system which is totally seperate to the dealers manufacturer order system .
My dealer cancelled the order and replaced with a new order and Motability system updated within 20mins. Has no affect on the car order .
January 2, 2024 at 6:13 pm in reply to: New Q1 AP Drops in Price ASK the Dealer for the New Lower AP #253469Motability won’t be bothered I’m technically on my fourth order since April.
1, ordered Enyaq 60 , cancelled after it arrived in UK.
2 ordered Enyaq 80 when AP dropped
3 cancelled 80 and ordered Sportline when that came on
4 changed order when AP dropped
5 just asked for a further change due to AP drop
If anyone was going to get in bother I think I would be.
In fact I’ve had one bit of hassle from them. Each time I change the order they try to get a new charge point fitted to my house. Took some convincing to tell them they’d already fitted one.
The last one I had to tell the charge company to stop ringing me.
You can take the £750 as a payment so will cover what you wish or use it via your dealer to pay the AP
The Enyaq Sportline plus coupe I ordered last week has dropped to £2599 AP from £2699 but I think I’ll leave my order as it is now and just ask the dealership to throw some goodies in as goodwill, mats, etc. It’s a lot of car for the AP and monthly motability lease, I think my order came out at over £56k. Happy Days! ?
The change in AP has no effect on the dealer, they get a set fee regardless so there is no incentive for them to throw things in . It’s best to just ask for the discount.
