I have a spastic left leg, ankle and foot which causes a lot of pain and foot rests make it worse.

In the Kona I was able to remove it in a few minutes, the scenic I can’t as it is built in to the carpet. Try removing it or it would be easy enough to adapt, widen. Cut and shape some black uPVC sill board and tech-7 to the side of the footrest.

Easy done and it would not effect you when handing back. They will probably not notice and if they do it would be easy to remove as long as you don’t go mad with the glue.

Same thing I believe. Just states what award you have and for how long.

Excellent advice JoJo. Two things to add. I always get someone who knows the claimant to write a few pages on how they know the claimant and how they see how their  disability effects them. Not a story, but just to the point. Any extra evidence is good evidence.

One other thing. I always pay to have the ‘Benefits and work guides you can trust’ website. It costs about £20 for the year. It’s always updated and covers a lot of the legal definitions and court rulings of those that have been through the tribunals. They have a lot of case studies that will define some of the jargon or questions that are designed to throw you. When I done the CAB training they used it. Good enough for them, good enough for me.

If decision is made and your waiting on the letter for the outcome, phone them up and they will tell you. That been the case for mine and any other forms I’ve done for people.

Last one was a strange one. A guy asked me to do his form if he phoned up to get it. He phoned and ended up doing an assessment over the phone there and then. He panicked but did it as he was ‘petrified’.

Call ended and he got his award through by text within two weeks. Living standard rate, mobility enhanced. His was for mental health and anxiety issues. He’s also employed although out sick a lot and I believe that helps with claims especially the epilepsy ones I’ve done.

Happened in my old Kona and was discussed on here by a few members. If I remember the general consensus was that the batteries being supplied with new cars were of low quality and those of us who had a replacement battery (better quality) from RAC never had the problem again. I know I didn’t.

A few things on my mind but bearing in mind no one knows how this will be done. But going on the last article I read which thought that maybe every mot a reading would be took.

Well I’ve clocked 13000 miles in my first year of this car and probably about 3000 where done in the republic of Ireland. So that would be £30 a year. I can afford it but I’m not paying it.

I can remember how easy it was to stop the clock on cars. A 2 minute job, then digital Speedos creeped in and I heard that guys where now doing that and it was easy and that was 30 odd years ago. And now l, well if they can steal our cars without keys now, they can turn back our clocks for a modest fee. So how are  they going to police this? black boxes for all phev and ev drivers? Hope that everyone’s honest like paying our taxes? This isn’t going to work IMHO.

Quote from compare the market was £750 annually. Last quote was with MSE I think. I did say no to all the extras, break down cover, no claims protection etc on this quote. And I did say that DVLA know about medical conditions but have not restricted licence. In hindsight maybe I should have just to compare the two. But surely an automatic wouldn’t justify that price hike.

Regards to the car insurance. I’ve own drive way and for a city I’m in a not really high risk area. I also live in a big cul-de-sac of about 120 houses and I’m right at the back. Driving for 31 years with no claims or even bumps. I’m 50 years of age lol. I only recently found out my license was restricted to auto as when I got it back after driving assessment it still had all categories, but then in small print on the back says auto only or something like that. I’ve no plans to come of the scheme but just thought I’ve have a gander to see incase I did. Maybe I did put in a wrong bit of info.

And TBF it was just a comparison site to get a rough idea, but was not expecting that price.

Travel insurance I definitely was not expecting as my conditions are not under investigation and are being managed. My insurance several years ago to Beijing was only around £180 for two weeks. All my European trips including 10 days in Tenerife during the summer average between £80 to £120 so I was not expecting that price as all policies have had the same information provided. And that’s what make me think I’m just being ripped off. Actually I don’t think I mentioned the second aneurysm and only mentioned the coiled one on this quote. That will probably put another zero on it lol.

My Kona didn’t have a heat pump and I didn’t miss it tbh.

My scenic etech has it and I’d miss it.

The scenic etech does more miles but has a bigger battery so don’t know the effect of the heat pump on the range. What it does do is give nearly instant heat, within about 40 seconds I’m feeling heat when in the car, so much so that I’ve not been preconditioning as often as I did in the Kona.

That said I would not pay for it.

Ps the Kona seemed to take an age to heat up so I’m presuming it’s the heat pump in the scenic doing it.

Aye nearly all dealers will contact you. I’m still getting Hyundai service messages even though it’s gone a year.

Best to book as early as you can if you need a courtesy car especially an automatic which I do.

It is a bit strange. Google suggests that quite a few people had the email but never owned Renaults. Maybe owned one of the brands under their umbrella?

Also think the 3rd party was a financial part of the company are something like that. Why would a financial part of the company have my details if I’m not the customer?

Finally absolutely nothing about it online from Renault themselves. Maybe they rushed the email out and are now locked in talks with the legal eagles to get them to make it a soft landing for them lol

If I had to renew today and EV was out id order this and I’m basing it mostly on the fact that the old model I had as a hire car impressed me so much, especially the comfortable seats. I can only imagine it has got better.

Oh and in my personal taste I think this and the e3008 are the best looking cars on the road now.

When you were in the showroom did you see the mg cyberster? I’m not really a car man, but that was stunning in the red colour.

                                Enjoy the wagon!

Yeah never thought about the fact that it was a third party. Mind probably buried in the T&C’s that they will/can do it.

The funniest call was this morning. I don’t answer numbers I don’t recognise unless I’m expecting a call. So a voice message was left in what sounded like am Asian Chinese accent with the worst broken English I’ve heard telling me I need to do x y z as my insurance with my GP had run out.

The last two forms I filled in for people both got 10 year awards. 1. Epilepsy 1. Diabetes.

Brian damage and heart transplant at some stage = 3 year award. It doesn’t make sense tbh. But it’s one thing I never fret about as I know that I’ve a lot of medical evidence to back me up. So I’ll should be doing my forms again around the same time I’ll be picking my next car.

That’s my award through and no changes. Same amount same time frame. How they expect someone to improve after a brain haemorrhage, 5 TIAs and two vasospasm strokes in the next three years is amazing.

Must tell my neurology team that the DFC are thinking I’ll improve in three years lol.

Also just done the switch over to universal credit this morning which was straightforward enough. Except for id verification which was sorted over the phone.

But as Kezo says we have all had confirmation that they were received and that’s the main thing.
