Someone was asking the other day about a poll of members on here who would consider leaving the scheme due to the changes. Just saw this on bakebook motability ni page.

Happened to me a few months ago. Go to mobility site and breakdown/recovery it will ask you to download an RAC app. That app will let them know your location for whatever is next.
In my case an EV that could not be towed and a tyre that could not be repaired so had to wait on flat bed recovery. As it was late and Kwik fitt was closed the driver told me to let him take it back to my house and in the morning get it picked up again and brought to kwikfit. Which happened but would probably be a red flag after the changes lol
Through no fault of your own you are one red flag away from losing your car. Your driving through your estate and a neighbours beloved dog runs out onto the road right in front of you. Instinct tells you to brake hard, but you have a spilt second longer and you have to make a decision, lose car, or run over your neighbours dog which is part of their family. Cue neighbourly feud.
Only one on hear I think, or only one to admit it lol
Ack Joe there’s no need to step away from anything. I’m the only one who filled it in and I couldn’t give a flying… Hopefully if it’s a con they’ll see my ‘you’re over your overdraft’ (again) and give me a few quid lol.
All my details are on-line as is most people’s and we can do nowt about it. Can’t remember the name of the website that lets you know if you’ve ever been hacked and what information is there. Everything was there including previous addresses.
Times like these we need to stick together as we get it from all angles.
Jus filled it in. Very straightforward.
Good review and it’s one of the few cars on the road I think looks good. I think I’m going to review my review lol.
@shann200 that’s a Hella of a lot of money. I don’t want to hijack this thread so why do your own and you will get some good advice on ways that can help.
Same problem for me during my service. It’s just over a twos hours drive there and back. During booking I made it clear I will need an auto. Drive down go through booking and get brought out to courtsey car, open door and it’s a manual. Tell the guy I can’t drive it, he asks is my license a manual only, to which I replied doesn’t matter I can’t use a drive it.
Looks at me as if I’ve two heads and says sure we’ll have it done in a few hours, sure you can wait. A few hours says I, what, a full service a door that rattles badly and you don’t know what is causing it, I don’t think so. So off I go home with my rattlin car. I didn’t even tell him that my license is reduced to auto.
I’m with Rene. You can’t fight it and TBF you’re part of it regardless, because if you don’t hand information over your excluded from so much. Here’s two examples. Last night in Asda as I was heading for the exit I noticed a big video screen above the door. It had a very clear image of me and a green box around my head. Today my other half couldn’t get out of Lidl without a receipt to scan at the barrier lol.
I’ve nothing to hide and prefer a simpler life. It’s when they want to insert a chip in me that I will… Actually they all ready have. Got my ICD box changed a few weeks ago and they give me a Samsung smart phone to record my heartbeat lol. Hmm I wonder what else it is recording from me.
Come to think about it a saw a documentary a while ago where a guy in England was getting done for rape and murder and he was f’d. Especially when just after the crime he claimed he just lost his phone and other evidence linked him. While on remand his phone turned up and give enough evidence of pictures and data location to prove he was not the scum bag.
24 hours in police custody I think. Same show the other night a guy murdered he flat mate and it was watts app messages and a recording of him at work that nailed him. That show was good, sad but good.
Last night’s show was good as well. But he was a hateful bassa, absolute scum bag. And he got away with it for 11 years, if it was todays tech he wouldn’t have got away for 11 days. So has very good uses.
Just don’t Google William and clothes pegs and your ads will be fine. lol
Any way slightly off topic while just slightly on it.

Ah folks it’s heartbreaking as it could be an absolute cracker, but sort the rattles out which can be done and doubt effects the latest models. And the software which can’t be hard to do with an update. Wind noise? Well next time ya see one have a look at the size of the mirrors, no need to be that big. Mind does seem to be a trait on modern cars.
I forgot about those stupid door handles as I don’t need to do it much. But having to poke your cold wet finger into that wee hole just to pop the handle. Useless and in no way a innovation. I prefer to put my finger… That’s enough lol
Oh and the sound system, well it’s excellent TBF. One of the best I’ve heard. Hmm maybe it’s the base that has loosened all those chocolate nuts n bolts.
Got imagine the new facelift model will have ironed those problems out, then your onto a great car, maybe not a driver’s car but definitely a crusing car. So soft speed bumps are a thing of the past.
Regards Victor M.
No longer on the scheme.
‘existing leases or not changing RIGHT NOW’.
I interpreted that as we are all getting that stupid phone thingy sooner or later whether we like it or not.
@Joejoe the key will open and the fob will start the scenic even if it’s done. It has to be placed somewhere specific, I think it’s just under the armrest.
Learnt this after a friend had a problem with starting her Mégane etech. Her dedicated key place was right in the centre console and a handy place to sit a phone, until you realise that the phones signal interferes with the car and fob, hence not starting lol. Tbf it looks like a phone charging plate.
I just changed mine in the scenic etech. Plenty of notice it needed changing as I took two weeks to do it. Very easy to do with just hands. Also has a key inside it, as have all fobs I’ve had. Does the enyaq not have one?
Myself, and a few members on here did a survey last year. Pretty sure there was either a thread, or it was discussed in a thread on here
Eltel I just put large estate into the search. They have the focus as a small estate. I thought they would have been around the same size tbh.
Anyone looking an estate is getting hit hard as the cheapest is an astra at £3749, or £4k for an auto.
I spent yesterday in hospital after having my ICD box changed and decided to use AI to see what dealers in NI will except benefits as proof of income and it stated most would in particular PIP. I’m not taking that as fact tbh, but the plan was to phone around a few today but the painkillers are wearing off so I’m just gonna sit and grumble lol.
But it would be great if dealers start something as long as they don’t rip folk off with high interest charges due to them being so limited with finance problems.
The 10k miles, that maybe the final push I need to tell them to stick it. Although in no rush as I’ve 19 months left on current car.
I do just over 13k a year so I presume I get the vat relief? So that would be around 1.9k and a total outlay of about £15,400 over the lease. Then I believe they will tax something or other so could be at least £16000, roughly £5300 a year.
Tyres ain’t a problem, euro cover ain’t a problem. Limited choice and new taxes, charges are.
And the thing that encourages me is that I have a family member who is a very good mechanic and we are very close lol. Oh and that 2018 Mercedes e220 estate AMG line I saw with the enormous boot is in the back of my mind. 125k miles full service history and priced at 11,500. Don’t like the badge mind, but fully kitted out. Or be sensible and have a look again at the Skoda superb and Hyundai i40 estates.
My maths are brutal from the brain injury so if someone sees a mistake, let me know lol
Logiejames. A member on here a year or so ago bought identical black logos online and cheap for their enyaq and I’m pretty sure said it was an easy job. It won’t effect GCB either. The grey and black would look very good.
I remember as I did have a black enyaq on order at one point and was planning on doing it myself. More as a ‘black out’ as it’s black logos, black car lol
Between the government, the press and motability themselves, they are doing their best to destroy the scheme.
I don’t even think I’ll see out my contract which has just under two years left.
Thank you folks.
Sorry it’s November 24. Having a bad day due to the s1ht show that is motability and kwikfit.
I have a spastic left leg, ankle and foot which causes a lot of pain and foot rests make it worse.
In the Kona I was able to remove it in a few minutes, the scenic I can’t as it is built in to the carpet. Try removing it or it would be easy enough to adapt, widen. Cut and shape some black uPVC sill board and tech-7 to the side of the footrest.
Easy done and it would not effect you when handing back. They will probably not notice and if they do it would be easy to remove as long as you don’t go mad with the glue.
They are a pain in the backside tbh. Would rather not have them.
