Had an update yesterday and it’s cleared up the infotainment screen which is good, bar that I ain’t noticed much else.
Bandit I sat in an R5 yesterday, cracking wee car. It’s got a biggish R5 logo on the bonnet that lights up which I liked. Also had the adopter for V2L which I’ve been trying to get my hands on. Before I plugged it in I searched all the menus for V2L stuff and nowt came up. When I plugged it in the driver’s cluster just looked as if it was ready for a charge, this was to set the limit on how much juice you want to use. I might go down to my dealership and see if he has one to plug into mine just to see what happens.
If Peugeot are doing an update at some stage id imagine Renault will do the same.
I live in hope of V2L lol
Yip. Mind I live in hope that it can be done as an update as Peugeot intended on doing. And I don’t get this one pedal driving. I can drive mine and the old Kona with one pedal.
I’m not. I did read it and while I agree with some things I’m neither here nor there on others.
When I first became disabled I refused to believe it and tried to work so it was around year before I claimed benefits and in that time I had blown my savings just paying bills etc, so when I had to order my first car I had to go 0 ap as it’s all I had. Over the years I’ve learnt that I had to save to get better cars. My next car was £700ap and next £3k. I made a lot of sacrifices to do it, but done it and enjoyed my cars.
I do believe that others are not willing to sacrifice and save much to pay high ap’s. I also know that others just can’t as I was one of them. But I never begrudged they guy on here ordering a high ap Merc while all’s I could get is a 0ap Astra. That’s life.
I know little about markets etc but everything is up and even when wholesale prices come down our prices don’t. It’s just a fing scam. So a 30-50k car with everything thrown in at say 2k – 4k is value in my eyes. Yes I would like lower ap’s but it ain’t happening. All this reserve money I’ve no idea but I would like to see autos subsided to manual prices and those that need WAVs get more. And how many cars are being returned for little or no problems, again I believe some peoples heads are being turned by other cars not long after they’ve picked up their own. I’ve done it, mind it was only an ordered car that didn’t even have a build date.
Could more be done, yes. That goes for everyone. Mobility, the customers and DWP. Will it happen, probably not.
My biggest gripe now is that mobility used to be easy and pleasant to deal with. From my own experience and reading others experience on here that’s not the case anymore.
For us the lease holder it’s by far the best, unless you’ve a spare 10-20k lying in the bank which I don’t. My last check was £180 but Tuesday ain’t far away lol.
Ps I hope this hasn’t come across rude or belittling in any way.
I’m on the lower end of a two wage (one benefits) household.
It felt natural because it’s just a car, an automatic car 🤷♂️ If you’re planning on doing long trips then have a practice at rapid charging when you’ve got time and not stressed, better that than the first time being when it’s dark and you’re desperate. Wait till winter comes and you get to use preheating 👌 You’ll soon wonder what all the scaremongering and doomsday posters were worried about 😂 Enjoy your new car when it comes and hopefully you saved a few quid on the AP 🤞 (or get back on the phone to the dealer 😉)
Two completely different types of car. Here’s just a few things that I was concerned about and a few things that caught me out because I didn’t know about them and it didn’t happen in my ice cars.
Wheel spin when trying to get out at junctions, the Kona was bad for it and took a bit of getting used to, the scenic isn’t bad. The EV wobble, 1st time it happened I shit them. Thinking there’s something wrong with the car as I thought it was losing power, I didn’t know that eco restricts power. Same when I thought the heating was broken, again just eco mode. I still haven’t thrown any of the EVs around country roads like I would have my ice cars as I’m not to sure about weight and or how it’s distributed in and ev.
Two cars but completely different setups which is why some people worry about swapping one for the other.
Manic I don’t know about the ioniq but I had the Kona and think Hyundai probably have the best EVs on the road. Enjoy.
My last car a Kona didn’t have one and my current car scenic e-tech does and I see absolutely no difference at all. Both have the same range bearing in mind I’d expect a bigger more modern battery in the scenic to be better. Nope I’m still getting about 220 miles range.
Just this last month I seem to be having a problem that others have mentioned in that the scenic does not heat well. The Kona was a steady 21 degrees and nice and so was the scenic. But just recently it blows out cold air up to 23 degrees and I need to set it at 24+ sometimes I have to put it on at full pelt just to warm the car and the burning smell is not nice at that temp.
Funny a doctor just told me last week in hospital that I’m always hypothermic as my body temperature is always around 33.2 to 33.7 lol.
I have had both the e3008 and scenic e-tech and the scenic superior in every way, well except looks. Scenic has big wide doors and tons of leg and head room. The e3008 is definitely not the car you want if it’s room you’re looking for as the cockpit style of it really restricts space.
I would not put anybody of it due to problems I had with the e3008 as I just got a rubbish car. But range is poor compared to scenic e-tech. Boot is bigger mind. Similar ap for different spec. But the e3008 has very little spec anyway.
Get yourself a scenic e-tech and float over said lumps and bumps.
Kezo I recently learned about airbag suspensions as a bus I was on had one blow out. Some bang when they blow out lol
My scenic e-tech with heat pump has the same range as the now 4yo kona I had before it. Bigger more modern battery with heat pump and still around 220 miles.
February 13, 2025 at 3:31 pm in reply to: how old a car do you reckon i would have to buy to junk all the bings and bongs? #297655I have the scenic e-tech and yes the perso (personalisation) button will turn them all off at a touch and Google voice control will do most other commands and the car will basically drive itself and the seats are are really comfy. And I absolutely love the car and love driving it.
Sounds like my old Kona. Three trips 1, Since last start and could be manually reset anytime. 2, Total distance and cannot be reset. 3, Since last charge and could only be reset by charging the car.
I miss the last one as I sometimes forget to reset the trip to see what a full charge gets me in the scenic e-tech.
Renault scenic e-tech is like a cavern inside. I’m going to update my review tonight as I’ve now 3414 miles and have had it a bit over 2 months.
When’s a few months, two? If so you should be fine. Phone them up close to renewal date line date and ask for an extension. Explain that you are having trouble getting the forms filled in. This will buy you a minimum 2 week extension*. So you should get to the trip before any decision is made on your claim. If you do not get motability award again I think you are allowed two weeks before car is handed back. Even say 1 week and the 2 week extension and by the time they do the actual assessment you should be back from the holiday.
* Don’t leave form to last minute, do it asap and sit on it a bit just to buy you a bit of time.
Similar thing happened to me in the scenic e-tech. I had accidentally shifted it in to neutral. Remember on the scenic the drive selector is where the wiper stalk is.
Is it possible that the electric controls are activating launch control. I do believe older q4s had it and I’m led to believe that most EVs still have it but they made it hard to do/work out and that they don’t advertise it now due to idiots crashing.
I downloaded the kelec app yesterday to see what it was like as most people on the FB page seem to prefer and right enough my Renault app has stopped working. I might just use the kelec one as it has a better setup/interface
Yes Mike you can manually precondition through the app. I always use this as I’m always leaving at a slightly different times. I just tap it about 15 minutes before I leave. Only once has it not worked and that was yesterday funnily enough as another app update happened over night.
TBF to Renault they are always trying to fix the app as it doesn’t work well for a lot of folk. The thing in common is smart chargers? Particularly ohme? but that seems the same for the enyaq guys as well. My app has always worked and my charger is just a plug and play type. If I need to I just use the car or app for scheduling.
I’m in the iconic and absolutely love it. Range in the cold weather is around 3 mpkwh. That gets me about 250 miles. Most comfortable car I’ve ever been in.
Just one difference in the video for scenic. Once you press electric in car settings press programmes and it will be all there.
Could you not go into the app and up date personal details. Change name and CC details to random names & numbers then just delete the app.

43 out of 50 correct and failed 🤔
December 19, 2024 at 6:10 pm in reply to: Hyundai Cars Getting Google Maps Data Integration! | Kia is First #295149I have in my scenic e-tech and it’s brilliant. Hey Google make a fart noise 😂. Nah seriously though I had a big drive today and it warned me of two mobile speed cameras. One was there the other not as I presume it had moved on. Just noticed today that it shows you when there are traffic lights ahead.
Sorry to hear about your father Kezo.
V2L will be the death of me. I decided to have a look through the online manual through the app and it says the car has V2L. Unlike Peugeot it goes on to explain it all in detail including where the adapter is stored in the tool kit. It has the picture/graphics of the scenic with all the explanations on how and when to use it and set it up via the infotainment screen.
Oh I’m excited so goes out and there’s no adaptor and searched the settings on the infotainment screen and there’s no mention of it. They are messing with my head.
This stinks as it’s a similar case to mine only a few weeks ago. The pin is a number not a name or letters so how did it work. How are they getting access to our pins when motability seem so eager for us to keep it secure and private until we are happy.
How long will it be before someone says they do not want the car they are there to collect because it’s wrong colour or trim etc but dealer has already inputted our pin without us knowing.
Ioniq you might need it and you, me, us need to know what we can expect because someday you may get that dreaded phone call and need to get somewhere asap. In my case it’s only a 40 mile trip, but if that family member was further away then I need to know what I can get in miles.
I have a magic number of 220. That’s how much miles I would need if I get referred to a certain cardiac hospital which will probably happen. So that’s a minimum for me. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve tested the 3 EVs I’ve had from 100% to 1%.
Ice is the same but it does take about 6 minutes to fill an ice car whereas an EV you might need a minimum of 30 minutes to get a quick boost.
