With problems, can I take my car to a different dealership or must I go to the one I got the from please?

New Renault Austral. This morning, I pulled out of a car park and drove a short distance to a roundabout to join a main ‘A’ road. Just before the roundabout and on the main road, I couldn’t accelerate at all. As I joined the ‘A’ road, I put the hazards on and drove like this for about half a mile until I was able to pull into a lay-by. No warning lights or any indication of a problem, the car just wouldn’t accelerate. Stopped and started the car a couple of times, still no warning lights so I drove off. Not a very nice situation to be in, driving on a main road with double white lines and heavy traffic building up behind.

@fiestaRed the Renault gearboxes sometimes jump out of drive when cold and going from EV to ICE, which seems like you cant accelerate, so if it happens agian check the drive lever and just pull it back into D/B, mine has done it twice in 18 months.

Similar thing happened to me in the scenic e-tech. I had accidentally shifted it in to neutral. Remember on the scenic the drive selector is where the wiper stalk is.

@des never thought I might have done it accidently as mine is an electronic shifter right next to the cup holder as i was putting my Costa back into.
