In the current climate that Tesla deal is very tempting. I think you’ll find that Motability approving courtesy cars is going to be very different going forward. Refused to give me one as the car wouldn’t be off the road for more than 5 days, but a taxi service would be available for essential travel only.

Thats strange because my neighbors car had broke down it was recovered to dealership withing a couple of hours Switch arrived at their home with a Jaecoo 7………..the car was fixed quickly and he was back driving it late the next day.
April 20, 2026 at 5:42 pm #353772I couldn’t tell you the last time I got a courtesy car from Motability, even when I had an accident it was a struggle and wasn’t offered it for long and took 2 weeks.
When the car is in the dealership for warranty work or a service they’ve refused it’s been like that for about 5 yearsApril 23, 2026 at 9:37 am #353971Just for info, anyone still thinking about this Tesla offer, the referral scheme has now doubled from 650 to 1300 free supercharger miles, approx 430kw real supercharging. Looks like any new orders won’t be delivered until Aug/Sept time though.
Referral link below for anyone who needs it

Its not without its problems though!
I booked a test drive for the Model 3, but they screwed up. The “find your car” didnt work and the only car there would not open. Al it done was throw up a phone number to call which is always busy, left a txt and voicemail and Nothing.
Whats more i couldnt book another test as their system had shown I already had a test drive.
I had to find their customer service order a ringback, and it appears the office had not put the test drive through the system and that is why it failed.
They reset the app, but got too much on at the moment to go for another test. This time its going to be a longer drive to a service centre, hopefully its manned.
Tesla, the first hurdle is getting a test drive. It should be easy, but irs not.

What a nightmare, my test drive went without a problem, I’ve been telling my mates ordering it was just like ordering a McDonald’s too
April 23, 2026 at 11:10 am #353979How long are you taking your lease
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

I just went for 2 years as worked out a good bit cheaper than 3 years
April 23, 2026 at 12:03 pm #353982I was looking at 2 years, if it goes ok a new car every 2 years, no tyres or servicing, what mileage, 8,000 is more than enough for me.

Two years is the sweet spot. Model 3 No mot, tyres or servicing to worry about. 1600 ap and. 249/month.
Or 300/month Model Y, 3800 (irc) down, a bit pricey…but doable. Its worth that NOT to have a black box.
My current I5 Ultimate is something like £5200 with this Q2 AP. Plus yoy get a black box FREE!

The alternative for me, Toyota C-HR+ EV back very similar efficiency, it just that dam black box.

April 23, 2026 at 8:42 pm #353994I think I’d rather spend £25k and have a Model X, at least that way it’s got some equity once I’ve paid it off.

Mark, you take your chances doing that.
My buddy bought his Model 3 in 2019. Its low miles, they dont use it much. Last year it wouldn’t charge, the battery crapped out. Fortunately they still had a year or two warranty and Tesla replaced the battery.
Not a heavy user and he always charges at home.

All used cars come with a certain risk.
To be honest, Tesla aren’t even close to my purchase list, we don’t like the looks or the interior and everything through the screen isn’t a joy.

With the old Tesla models were indeed hideous, and I discounted them for that reason. But the new Iteration is very nice indeed.
The minimalist I can work around using voice control.
I will adapt to the new norm as we all do.
It is a good looking car now.

How did you sort out the disabled road tax, I am assuming our little friend Racheal has not added any addition taxes/cost.

Your road tax is already fully included in a personal contract hire/lease.
Didn’t bother trying to find out if there is a possibility of applying disabled road tax and getting discount as would have been hassle and wanted ordered quickly.
April 28, 2026 at 4:57 pm #354235Well that was easy.
Locked that offer on before it disappears.
£197/month. AP £2500 for 24 months.
Car due August/Sept.
I cant see that offer being up for very long.
Max at the Tesla service centre said I could walk away from the deal and refund the £200 deposit. Its a no brainer.
April 28, 2026 at 4:59 pm #354236Brilliant hope it all goes well

did you use a referral code to get the free 1300 supercharger miles ? Apparently it’s closer to 2000 on model 3 as it’s more efficient than the model S it’s based on
April 28, 2026 at 5:03 pm #354238April 28, 2026 at 5:20 pm #354239That’s ideal, it’s basically 1/4 of your years mileage paid for outwith the cheap rates at home

Ooh thats good, not long now. Not many sleeps at all.
I test drove the model Y an Model 3 today, and the wait time suggests Tesla will be cutting off that deal soon.
