      Hi all,

3 years since I was last on site regularly, it’s great to see so many dedicated regulars are still posting very helpful info.

I’ve had a Kia Niro hybrid for 3 years and it’s been boringly reliable, I’ve averaged 55 mpg.

I see petrol and diesel cars are ridiculously priced and as Glos Guy said, they are subsidising the push to electric.

last time I could of had a VW Touran for £500 ap. it’s now £3500 , why are we not able to choose reasonably priced ICE engines if we want to?
I need a large vehicle with good access (my Niro is awkward getting in but ok when seated). I will stay with Hybrid or try Electric, Plug in hybrids are overpriced .

I like the size of Kia Sportage or Hyundai Tuscan but they are pricey.

Anyone with any info of , VW id4 or Skoda Enyaq , please post , or any vehicles I might have missed that are roomy and easy access.

      many thanks , wonky

I have just picked up an Enyaq and it is very spacious. It drives well and if it is important to you, it is also fast.

It is the outgoing model I have, but the new model has a front facelift and some tweeks to the number of LEDs in the  headlights. The interior and mechanics are the same as that was upgraded for 2024. I much prefer the look of the new facelift, but I can’t see that when I’m driving!

The range is good and the software is night and day from my ID3. A friend has the ID4 and he is enjoying that and they are both similar cars.

I can’t help but see the price going up next quarter as the facelift model comes online. But who knows.

If you can charge at home, it is a no brainer, get an Enyaq or ID4. Otherwise you’ll have to take into account public charging. But you know that already. Right?

may not be roomy enough but nissan are worth a look,, qashqai or juke i have the hybbrid juke and am getting over 55. the epower quashqai. i havent sat in it yet but the honda hrv is a decent price for the kit. i also like the look of the symbioz but again havent sat in one. ive a year to go and i am a bit nervous about what will be left as plugin and electric are pretty much non starters for me.

Renault scenic e-tech is like a cavern inside. I’m going to update my review tonight as I’ve now 3414 miles and have had it a bit over 2 months.

Hello again,  thanks for replies so far.

              Dumfries Dik, Mitch and Des.
Had not thought about Renault or Nissan and good info on Enyaq.

Keep it coming, this site is better than hours spent on web.
              Thanks, wonky

Ive had the Renault E Tec for 17 months and its been great

                Fantastic drive and road holding

                Not a large car tho

                Only gripe is

Access requires ducking my head to get in

                Im 5ft 9

But plenty big enough once in

Back seats are just about Ok  but seen better

Not an issue as only 2 of us are in the car most of the time

If after a big car then imo best to avoid

Most important info currently in regards to the Enyaq is probably the fact that the facelift model is due to come out in March.

Goes two ways: the newer one looks considerably sleeker (imho), but is also likely to be more expensive. According to articles, new front, new steering wheel, updated infotainment system (option to switch off active speed alert warning system in a new shortcut menu) but seems likely software related (meaning the older style would get it too).

It is, of course, more expensive (and will be so on the scheme too, likely) – so you either go for the cheaper outgoing model (which is one of the, if not the best ESUV available), or you wait a minute, get the spanking new model but likely have to pay more for it.

If they don’t go stupid with the AP (4000+), the new one is likely our new car if we can get it in Sportsline flavour.

                  Current: Hyundai Ioniq 6 Ultimate
                  Next: we'll see what's available in 2028.
