Personally I feel that we should have the vaccine even if it is for the benefit of those around us. People who have not been vaccinated are more likely to transmit to others who may be more vulnerable than ourselves. If we all took the ‘I.m alright Jack ‘ attitude this pandemic would drag on forever. It doesn’t hurt, it’s free so why not? No really, why not?
Very exciting. Hope everything goes smoothly.
I think I’d prefer something a little different to the usual blue, red, black and countless shades of grey/silver please. Tinted red in this instance though.
Great news. My letter arrived today so we can order from the 20th, just have to wait and see what’s available. Electric, phev or another BMW! No idea at the moment.
March 10, 2021 at 7:48 am in reply to: Pensioners have more penalty points than young drivers #141975It really is so simple. If you’re not interested in an article then don’t click on it and don’t read it. As for banning people, really? Just live and let live, get on with your life and let other people get on with theirs.
No, all things considered that’s not bad at all. A3 is on my shortlist for 27/03 when I can place an order.
Anyone need a lift down to the PEUGEOT garage?
Seriously though, hope its still available on 27th March!
Looks fab, hope you like it. Don’t let a couple of issues spoil things for you, all easily sorted as you say. Things are never going to be easy during a lockdown. I can order from 27th March but won’t be in any rush until things open up a bit more. Enjoy!
Off out in an hour’s time to collect my Kuga ST Line X. Dealer rang @ 9am to confirm car ready. Sounds like I will be handed the keys on the end of a long stick poking out the front door amid muffled cries of “now clear off”. Should be interesting if nothing else.
Excellent news. Let us know how you got on.
No that is wrong they are saying it has to go to the person that leased the car.
You’re right. It doesn’t say anything about you having to be the owner of the car.
I’m in a similar position but I don’t have a ‘stand out’ choice at the moment anyway. You never know it may even work in your favour.
Excellent news. More charging points and we should be good to go!
Electric vehicle fanboy and fangirls thoughts on what they hate about electric vehicles.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdxYXAXGcKw What do you hate about EV’s ? For me it would be the long charging time.
Charge times, worry over where to charge, greatly extended journey times, late night journeys, service stations at peak times, cold weather, etc etc etc etc etc.
I’m afraid that comments like ‘ most journeys are under 30 miles’ etc mean nothing to a large % of the population. And please, no need to assume that I am not in favour of EVs. I would love one. We cover a lot of miles and anything to reduce an £80/week fuel bill would be much appreciated.
A lot can happen in 9 years and I really hope it does. But as things stand, no thanks.
Funnily enough I had already watched this last night before seeing this link.
It highlights the fears of so many people and shows just how far away we are in reality from anything approaching a satisfactory charging infrastructure for those wanting to complete anything other than fairly local journeys. Chasing round after single charging points to find there is a queue? Not for me., not until things are improved dramatically.
February 15, 2021 at 1:58 pm in reply to: Citroen e-C4 electric: prices, specs and on-sale date-£29,180 #139956Well I’ve never had a Citroen ( apart from an AX GT when I was 20) and I’m not sure if I will ever get one through Motability but in Shine Plus trim at £1795 this looks like a lot of car to me. Bit of a looker too if I’m being honest.
Definitely a looker but that range is too low for me. You just never know if you might need more. Lots of other great evs of that size that do it so much better. Just my opinion of course, it will be great for some.
February 2, 2021 at 9:31 am in reply to: So I left the scheme, thanks for the worry free motoring #138516I feel that the scheme is indeed a ‘no brainer’ for quite a large percentage of Motability customers. The reason is peoples financial situation. An awful lot of people would bot be able to obtain the credit to enable them to buy a car. Many people have given up jobs to care for people and as a result have no/little regular income. On the scheme there are no credit checks, just the ability to chose a brand new car. A car which is often needed for essential travel. For these people the scheme will always be an amazing part of their lives regardless of AP costs, spec levels, waiting times etc etc.
February 1, 2021 at 4:47 pm in reply to: What car would you like to see on the scheme that could make it? #138434Would be nice to see the 3 series saloon back. The 2 series gc is on my shortlist but I think the 3 would sway it for me.
February 1, 2021 at 11:34 am in reply to: All new cars to have speed limiters fitted by 2022 #138378We’ll all be too worried about conserving battery power to even think about speeding.
We live on the North York Moors, half way up a hill called Chimney Bank which is one of the 5 steepest roads in the UK. AWD is the order of the day for us.
Maybe it’s to take your mind off constantly worrying about running out of charge?
No, I asked them to call but they say people were told not to ring and they would be contacted. I’ll give them a nudge and see if they think it might be a good idea now.
Both my parents are 87, both classed as extremely vulnerable. They live in East Yorkshire and have heard nothing with regards to vaccinations.
Well one example would be a video from the guy on ‘The fully charged show’on You tube. Not saying he knows everything but he is a well known, respected advocate of evs. He made this very statement when testing the Corsa E.
They’re more expensive because the manufacturers make them so through choice. Many evs cost less to produce than their petrol counterparts but of course most of their profit comes from petrol/diesel car sales. As things stand manufacturers are not too keen to steer consumers away from this sector.
