Dealer could be bluffing you. The only delays i’m aware of is the 2 Series GC given quotes until Jan 2021 the same time you’ve ordered and Feb/Mar if ordered now.
Ordered my 3 Series in mid July. Got a updated 2 days ago from production that it has started to take its shape with added features. Have you been provided with a order number? If not, get one off them and have a look for yourself on the Live Chat.
Thank you for posting @PS, it looks absolutely stunning! The blue illumination combined with the orange gives it really good ambience, especially from the back seat! I cannot wait to collect mine in a few weeks time. Enjoy!!

October 17, 2020 at 12:22 am in reply to: Benefit and Works Telephone pip Assessments and more #127173Thanks for sharing Martino. Mine is awarded for 4 years. It mentioned on the award letter they would be in contact the year before (3rd year). No sign. Then lockdown kicked in and came into Aug, still no sign of any phone calls or letters for a review form, this had me worried. Citizen Advice and other members mentioned to chase it up as the end of payments drew near.
Just receive a letter this month saying it has been extended upto one more year due to covid. Complete opposite to what advice I received and during this time I should expect a review form if condition has worsened. I mean with contacting and isolating for 14 days, this year has been the worst of all, breathing had got terrible to the point where I now rely on a mini ventilator at night.
Word of advice to anybody not receiving any phone calls or letter. It most likely has been extended until further notice.
@PS, that looks fantastic! I love how the map in the cluster is in the middle like the LC Professional. The analogues are a little bit dark in the night but nonetheless the map gives it a lively feeling. Also, love the classic BMW orange ambience!
Thank you for sharing. Any chance you can post one from the back seat, like of the whole front. If you can, otherwise don’t push yourself as you get pains.
No that’s Live Cockpit Professional which is completely digital and standard on M Sport. You will see that everywhere on YouTube reviews etc. I find that quite too dark and boring. Good thing is, it has a bigger instrument cluster and a 10 inch infotainment screen.
Whereas, the Live Cockpit Plus running on ID 7 is the above pictures. Basically before July 2020, the Sport spec had normal analogue dials with needles displayed that you would see on a ordinary vehicle.
So SE/Sport specs after July 2020, when you start the vehicle it is running on Live Cockpit Plus/ID7 (standard now). The needles, numbers and the display on the dash flash up as a digital screen. I find this much more appealing than the one you get on the M Sport. Only downpoint is, the Sport spec gets a smaller 8 inch infotainment screen.
And another from a side angle. I was hoping PS could share some with us if that’s fine by him otherwise wait a week or two, I can try obtain some. Such a shame there is no reviews out there for the updated ID 7 Sport spec. Too many M Sport reviews.

@Daisy, managed to find one on the net, as posted previously on another thread. The instrument cluster is now a digital analog.

Vlad, that’s disgusting. Here’s me thinking it was an accident. How do dealers get away with this?? Report them to head office and Motability. ?
Oh no, here’s me thinking end of October. Thank you for confirming this BigDave. Sorry about the misinformation Des. As much as some hate to extend their current lease (including myself) it is unfortunate. However, the positive side to it is, you get an extra £100 on GCB. That’s IF your lease doesn’t end by then.
The grant I can understand as you must have time on your award but if you’re still interested in purchasing a new Motability lease you’re eligible as your award has 12 months remaining. I believe Motability have reduced this to 6 months. If you have 6 months remaining you’re still allowed to put in a new application. In your case, more than 6 months remaining.
@PS, post some pictures if you can! If you would like to email me them instead let me know! I’d love to see yours. Also, did you get your problem resolved as you had a recall?
Hi Anthony. Sorry to hear about your experience. Hope your matter is resolved quickly. Quite a few customers elsewhere that have ordered the 320i Sport spec have discovered the system running on old software upon handover. It’s not something you’d want to see especially when you’re a customer that has been eagerly waiting for so long!
Vlad had the same problem but I believe the 320i spec is being built in Mexico as it could be production errors. There should be no excuse to not apply the ID 7 software, as it was announced by BMW to be it standard as it also has the digital analog.
I’ve ordered the Touring end of July and just had confirmation it is being built in Munich, Germany. It is being built earlier than the estimated arrival. It would be preferable if yours was being built in Munich as it would be quicker.
Have you checked on your invoice that it states Live Cockpit Plus? Mine has a list of options that are on there. Hope it gets resolved for you. Stand your ground.
My dealer mentioned I was allowed to put privacy tints at a cheaper price if I knew anyone who could do it professionally rather than getting the extras which wasn’t worth it. I said would this be a problem and he said no. Same goes for badge removal, he gave me the option to remove it at handover time as my current Golf TDI, one of the letter fell off!
I’m always told any diesel vehicle is reliable, end of the day, the driver is part to blame in how rough they handle the vehicle etc. Part of me says 90% is down to factory builds. The amount of cheap work I could show you what has been done on my factory built VW Golf GT would shock you.
Georgie, I agree with the “sticky brakes” situation as I am experiencing high levels of it. Especially the auto-hold function goodness me, dangerous of them all! End of the day what does the dealer do? Deny it until major problems happen as usual.
There are pros and cons. A vehicle could be built with 100% reliability but the driver can ruin it in a instance vice versa.
Yes Will, you need to speak to Motability customer service about this as they are the ones who are in charge. The deposit side of things are between you and your dealer.
What happens is, when you place an order the dealer makes an application to Motability Operations. They then send you a copy stating it has been accepted and the Advance Payment etc Any problems, you go through with Motability. I have never cancelled or had any problems but you need to ring Motability to say that you’ve cancelled your order and that the dealer will issue your refund as you was not happy etc etc. You need to pester your dealer (I know he/she won’t be happy) about it in writing.
So in conclusion, chase your dealer up in writing that he will issue the refund, then straight after call Motability. End of the day, you have not entered a pin, you are within your rights to cancel.
See Will, they always play the odd way, they never give a toss about the customers. I ordered from Sytner Coventry which is an hour and 15 min away from me compared to Hampshire which is 2 hours. So I think Hampshire will suit you best, plus they do discount on extras if you’re considering it. There are only selective dealers that match certain offers but Chigwell seem abit money orientated rather than customer satisfaction. No problem at all!
That’s really fishy Vlad. I’d be concerned. So does that mean he/she is taking ownership of the wrong order? Because that’s what it sounds like. If any re-order, yours should be regarded as a priority.
October 5, 2020 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Worst ‘new plate’ September on record for new car registrations . #126079Goodness me it is scary how bad things are turning out. Depressing to read. Perhaps the original statistics and articles are there to scaremonger. Surprised to see Audi’s success. I always thought MG wouldn’t succeed but they’ve done really well I guess.
Will, the dealer is bluffing you, he’s already given you his first answer. I called mine and he said to me he will ask his manager and I was only on hold for a min or two. Processed everything over the telephone. Regardless, if mine had refused, I still would’ve headed down to Marshalls Hampshire (2 hour drive).
It’s a sales technique. If I was in your position, I would cancel and reorder but secure yourself a deal with another dealer that will honour it. Only difference of price from Q3 to Q4 is a £50 increase on the 320i.
