No need to wait, it’s yours! I’d cash it in. The rest you have mentioned is part of wear and tear. Did you receive your cheque before or after handing the vehicle and how long did it take to receive it? I am due to hand my vehicle back next week.
Great to hear that Zoe! Especially when the X1 is experiencing delays but at Munich, Germany plant they are quick indeed.
Lord Muc, Yeah I entered my pin on the iPad 3 years ago. Even processed an order on there. So glad to hear collections are resumed after a bit of disagreement.
Right folks, those who are waiting for handover in a few weeks just got a call from the dealership (again) today surprisingly that Motability have agreed to go ahead with my handover. Just waiting on delivery now! (Thank you Motability)
Just received a call from the dealership that handover for Motability customers will be suspended in effect after Wednesday. However, retail handovers are allowed to take place but Motability have refused to accept it for their customers during lockdown. Now my vehicle will be sitting at the dealership rotting and who knows, if the dealer wanted to be evil and sell it! Thanks ever so much for ruining it Motability.
This is until December 2nd but this can also be extended under government guideline rules. So expect heavy delay folks.
I emailed my dealer and they responded to it as they’re chasing up Motability about it whether they can approve it or not. If they allow it they can go ahead. Surprising as I thought dealerships would be closed for all matters?
Zoe, I believe they may just sit at the Port creating further delays. Mine is currently at the exit port awaiting for the logistic partners to process and deliver. So if dealers are closed from this Thursday and can’t take in the vehicles i’m guessing it is put on hold as there is nobody to accept delivery. It would be an advantage if they can accept the deliveries as handovers would be ready as current delivery times are up to 3 weeks!
Stupid lockdown has just been announced, I am too looking for answers. I’ve emailed my dealer and await a response as I am due handover in mid November. Most likely the answer will be suspension up until 2nd December as it is deemed non-essential.
Yes BMW production/orders are 4 month wait. I ordered mine mid July and it is now at Port of Exit. Handover is due in a few weeks but now lockdown is taking place and this sets it back to December 2nd! Increase to 5 months now. Really frustrating.October 25, 2020 at 10:12 pm in reply to: Question: When is a Ford Puma Titanium NOT a Ford Puma Titanium? #127960
I believe what BigDave meant was to be careful as harsh as it may sound. These kind of situations can get yourself into more problems further down the line, I did see the Mercedes thread also, Motability were insisting to return it even if it was a “mistake” from the dealer’s end.
Of course, your conscience is clear but the way your post came across sounded like you wasn’t aware of your spec. Sometimes dealers do tend to double cross you by putting in a complete different order and spec etc and members still continue to keep the vehicle but legally on paper it’s written something else! We’ve witnessed alot of this and still happens to this day. Nonetheless, great looking spec and deal you’ve got there! Congrats!
How you finding the driving experience Rob? Was the handover ok? Do post some pics when you get the chance! I pick mine in 2 weeks. Cannot wait!
Paul L, all Metallic colours on the BMW are FOC. It does mention on their brochure in small print. I believe they only have three special colours on the M Sport and above.
I remember getting the Black Pearl Effect Pearlescent FOC on my Golf GT. It is a beautiful eye catching colour at night and under sunlight.
It’s starting to become a trend isn’t it Wayne. I really do feel your frustration and patience. Mine has just left the plant and I hope I don’t get the same experience. You having any regrets on not going for the Touring maybe?
On the other hand, I was made to wait 2 and a half hours for a bloody MOT! Was advised will only take an hour, then the half an hour’s added on aaannd then I gave up. Seems like communication is something never heard of with these dealerships. Very money orientated. I put a massive complaint to Motability, who in the end got me a taxi home. Thank you Motability.October 21, 2020 at 10:21 pm in reply to: April 2021 Benefits to rise by 0.5% – effect on Motability Scheme??? #127682
ChrisK, the half price scheme is also contributing to the rise in Covid cases. Not exactly worked very well has it with cities going into Tier 3. It seems like he’s engineered all of it, then waiting for the cases to rise. (Without trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist 😂).
I love the Phytonic Blue also, looks very exclusive. @PS, i’ve went for the Mineral Grey Touring and as Rob mentioned before, hides the dirt very well!
Yes, the electric seat function is not worth it, a bit bizzare as they have not excluded that out of the packs. Suprisingly the sunroof can be purchased as stand alone and the packs have been shuffled around in the configurator.
Overall, most of the features on there as standard is surprisingly premium considering all of that for a BMW and being a Sport spec! Gives a bit of a tap on the face to Audi and now VW also for charging extras on silly things! Wouldn’t be surprised to see a charge in the future for cupholders or even the steering wheel!
Yes Zoe is correct. I was in the same position. Hearing everyone elses horrible experience with the dealerships (mainly Mercedes) I had to email my dealer for a order number (quite responsive). They can be offended as in their response is we will keep you updated, in other words, why do you need to know about it for 🙄. So it’s best if you check regularly with Live Chat (great experience I must say).
You will get more updates on there than your dealer will ever give you, the only update they will give you is “vehicle is due in the next few days” or “the vehicle has had some delay/delivery problems” only to realise it’s been sold! Mine is due well before the est time of arrival.October 18, 2020 at 2:42 am in reply to: whats the wierdest or obscure must have for your car #127288
The passenger, who is in charge of the gps 😂. I’d have to say for me it’s LED lights now. Also, folding mirror needs to be a standard in every new vehicle now, if not, it’s a no for me.
Dealer could be bluffing you. The only delays i’m aware of is the 2 Series GC given quotes until Jan 2021 the same time you’ve ordered and Feb/Mar if ordered now.
Ordered my 3 Series in mid July. Got a updated 2 days ago from production that it has started to take its shape with added features. Have you been provided with a order number? If not, get one off them and have a look for yourself on the Live Chat.
Thank you for posting @PS, it looks absolutely stunning! The blue illumination combined with the orange gives it really good ambience, especially from the back seat! I cannot wait to collect mine in a few weeks time. Enjoy!!October 17, 2020 at 12:27 am in reply to: Benefit and Works Telephone pip Assessments and more #127174
Mandi, is that for a new claim or a review? 2 hours is indeed very long!October 17, 2020 at 12:22 am in reply to: Benefit and Works Telephone pip Assessments and more #127173
Thanks for sharing Martino. Mine is awarded for 4 years. It mentioned on the award letter they would be in contact the year before (3rd year). No sign. Then lockdown kicked in and came into Aug, still no sign of any phone calls or letters for a review form, this had me worried. Citizen Advice and other members mentioned to chase it up as the end of payments drew near.
Just receive a letter this month saying it has been extended upto one more year due to covid. Complete opposite to what advice I received and during this time I should expect a review form if condition has worsened. I mean with contacting and isolating for 14 days, this year has been the worst of all, breathing had got terrible to the point where I now rely on a mini ventilator at night.
Word of advice to anybody not receiving any phone calls or letter. It most likely has been extended until further notice.
@PS, that looks fantastic! I love how the map in the cluster is in the middle like the LC Professional. The analogues are a little bit dark in the night but nonetheless the map gives it a lively feeling. Also, love the classic BMW orange ambience!
Thank you for sharing. Any chance you can post one from the back seat, like of the whole front. If you can, otherwise don’t push yourself as you get pains.
No that’s Live Cockpit Professional which is completely digital and standard on M Sport. You will see that everywhere on YouTube reviews etc. I find that quite too dark and boring. Good thing is, it has a bigger instrument cluster and a 10 inch infotainment screen.
Whereas, the Live Cockpit Plus running on ID 7 is the above pictures. Basically before July 2020, the Sport spec had normal analogue dials with needles displayed that you would see on a ordinary vehicle.
So SE/Sport specs after July 2020, when you start the vehicle it is running on Live Cockpit Plus/ID7 (standard now). The needles, numbers and the display on the dash flash up as a digital screen. I find this much more appealing than the one you get on the M Sport. Only downpoint is, the Sport spec gets a smaller 8 inch infotainment screen.
And another from a side angle. I was hoping PS could share some with us if that’s fine by him otherwise wait a week or two, I can try obtain some. Such a shame there is no reviews out there for the updated ID 7 Sport spec. Too many M Sport reviews.
@Daisy, managed to find one on the net, as posted previously on another thread. The instrument cluster is now a digital analog.
Vlad, that’s disgusting. Here’s me thinking it was an accident. How do dealers get away with this?? Report them to head office and Motability. 😡
