Thanks @Injector. We can’t take delivery till late Feb when the 3 years are up on our current MB car. My wife wants the 360 camera and thus I want to make sure the car has been ordered correctly.
Hope you are enjoying your car. We thought about Cloud Blue but went for Crystal White.
Hi all, we just placed our order for the XC40 today. I asked the dealer for the Volvo ID so I could track the cars build though the process but he said it’s just for retail customers and they can’t provide as Volvo’s customer is Motability.
How have others tracked their order and ensured extras on the car have indeed been ordered?
The salesman told me he would send across the order sheet in a couple of days. I want to make sure extras are on the order sheet.
I’m slightly paranoid wanting to ensure the order has indeed been placed, given the attractive AP, as I have heard stories of dealers not putting though orders of ICE cars until they have met their quota of EVs.
Any help appreciated. Thanks
This is simply brilliant in my opinion.

If you had bp pulse for your last lease, we’ll offer you this again. If you had a home chargepoint for your last vehicle, you will not be able to get a bp pulse subscription from us.”https://www.motability.co.uk/whats-available/electric-cars/charging/bp-pulse/

I see now why Chris Harris and friends thought this looked like a Chrysler 300C.
We are about to order one.
According to Honest John, B4 averages 37.4mpg.

There are much better cars of mpg is a real issue for you, such as the Qashqai E-Power.
There is also an XC40 page as well as XC40 forum you can ask this question on.

ps – PHEV APs are high as @72 dudes mentioned. However if it is of interest as a plug in hybrid check out the Toyota CH-R which has a relatively reasonable AP of £2,795
We are going to order an XC40 in the next week. Just need to decide on colour. The XC40 B4 Plus is a steal at the moment with the ever rising prices, it fell by a £1k from Q3 to Q4. A lot of people are going for the Black model as well. I’m not sure an all new model will be released until 2026.
If you order now and the price does drop in Jan, most dealers will honour the price or you can cancel and order elsewhere.
We thought about the Audi Q3 (my brother has one and loves it) but we didn’t think it was worth the extra AP. Same with the Mercedes GLA which is almost £2500 more than the Volvo.
Nissan Qashqai was on our list and it’s a nice car but we preferred the Volvo. You should go and test drive them.
Have you spoken to Motability customer support ? They might direct you to the dealer but I would have thought would be understanding of your situation.
Best of luck recovering from your injury. Hope it heals quickly.
It’s the death of an iconic brand. Pure suicide, totally ignoring their heritage and completely alienating their customers.
I’ve always loved Jaguars from the time I had an E-Type in a Scalextric set. The iPace i thought was genius.
This rebrand will go down as one of the worst gaffes of all time.
I feel sorry for the employees as the death of this loved British brand is in sight. RIP 🙏🏽
The cold weather is hitting us harder this year. Dropped to 2.8 kw/h on the Honda E. Was getting well in excess of 4 kw/h and also more than the claimed WLTP mileage on a regular basis when the weather was milder.
Capris not selling well clearly…as production reduced to one week on and one week off. https://www.motor1.com/news/740842/ford-cuts-explorer-capri-ev-production/
That doesn’t surprise me at all now I’ve seen it.
Yes, not seen a single one on the road (though I have seen an Explorer (just one mind you)). Having seen what Renault has done with the 5, if Ford had done the same with the Capri, as a no-frills low cost 4 seater coupe paying homage to the original, it would have sold well I think. Killing off the Fiesta was a disaster. Not everyone wants SUVs. Such a shame to see what they have done with classic brands like Mustang and now Capri. They are losing money hand over fist.
I hear a few European manufacturers are going to see the government as they cannot keep up with the ZEV mandate without losing a ton of money. Tough times not helped by building stuff that is just bland. VW are another prime example of this.

I’ve always wanted a Lexus but never owned one, from when the original IS was launched. The LBX was on my shortlist but the price hike to £3999 for Q4 has pushed it out of my budget. The RZI’m sure will get a few takers even at this high AP, similar to the BMW i4.

Dacia jogger could be a decent option for you.
Just received pip award for full mobility. Hoping to get a vehicle asap. Would love a Volvo XC40 B4 Black Edition, but worried by potential lead time? Does anyone know current wait time for new orders? Also are there any vehicles with very short wait times. Needs to be an Automatic. Preferably SUV. thanks
There is an XC40 thread you will find on page 2. On there I think it was Injector got his car in 2 weeks from ordering. I was quoted 3 months by my local dealer which was fine by me as I cannot take delivery before Feb. I’ll be looking to order a B4 Plus this month. Speak to your local dealer or ring around to see how quickly they can get hold of one. I suspect the Black Edition may have to be built to order so it could be a 3 month wait.
We, ordinary end users, should set up a company to buy the cars at the end of the lease, and cut out the middle man! 😄
I’m not sure there will be many takers at such a high AP (M-Sport 35 £7499 AP, £7999 with Tech Pack).

Wondering if anyone on this forum has had issues with failed auxiliary drive belts. Been reading on it on the XC40 forum.
We have decided to order an XC40 next month and are hoping they have solved these issues.https://www.xc40forums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3987&start=60

couldn’t agree more with you as well @wmcforum ! Absolutely horrible change of colour. Puts me off instantly. What were they thinking?
Mazda CX-30 back on the list today
”+7 New Car, Mazda persist with a large capacity non turbo petrol engine (with mild hybrid) new version is increased from 2.0 litres to 2.5 litres”
Automatics start at £2,499 with the centre line. Previous model centre line was £2,399
Yes I’m a little excited now.how was the handover and what are your first thoughts?Volvo no longer have “Dealerships” Volvo now run a direct sale model, so the locations are effectively only Volvo direct showrooms. (and are known to have a high staff turnover)
Not quite. They still have dealerships as well as a direct model.
Buyers reminded dealerships aren’t closing as Volvo launches direct sales
