Can I delay new car delivery if I’m injured?

      Bit of a strange question.

I’m currently recovering from a shoulder injury. As a wheelchair user, this is pretty serious, so I’ve not been able to drive recently.

My new car is due in January. Is it acceptable for me to ask my dealer to hold on to the car for a month or so until im recovered?

      I’d like to hear thoughts.

Have you spoken to Motability customer support ? They might direct you to the dealer but I would have thought would be understanding of your situation.

Best of luck recovering from your injury. Hope it heals quickly.

Probably better to ask Motability, explain your injuries and concerns and see what they can come up with?

Your car may officially be due in January, but it may take longer to arrive, your medical problems may be resolved by then.

If your car does arrive before you heal, see if you can get a friend on the motability insurance and ask if they could take your old car to the dealer and take away the new one. You would of course have to be there to sign off the pin etc.

But motability will have dealt with similar problems to yours and will have a solution.

How will you get around without the car? Appointments and stuff?? Do you have a named driver that could make use of it for you?

Hope you recover from the shoulder injury, six weeks of physio may help? I know exactly how you feel (also wheelchair full timer) with my hand full of stitches, carpal tunnel.
