Hey Robert!
I hope you’re doing well! If you’re feeling confident that everything is set, try pressing a bit more firmly on the brake once you come to a stop. I’ve had to do that with my car sometimes to get it to engage. I really hope this helps solve the issue you’re having! Let me know how it goes!
When I enquired about a grant on the phone, I was scolded that they are a charity and if I’m sitting on a load of money then they are not likely to help me. I don’t know where she thought I had that kind of money from, but I was so put off I borrowed the money from elsewhere.
@kezo My similar-sized former vehicle Toyota RAV4 (also hybrid) managed to attain just 38mpg over 5+ years.
Over the last 4 months of having the Nissan X-Trail, I’ve attained 44.3mpg. I mostly drive with it in eco mode, and as the last 4 months have been warmer than the average over 5 years, I’d assume that will likely come down to that of similar economy as the RAV4.You’ll love it @HoneyMonster
I have the same model, but in Red. It’s easily the best car I’ve ever had, but it’s a shame there’s no remote rear door. I sometimes have to ask passers-by for assistance.
July 6, 2023 at 10:21 am in reply to: Motability Assist Application (Breakdown)(SCOOTERS ONLY) #225552I am so sorry JoJoe (and everyone else). I just double checked and it seems you’re right. I assumed the wrong thing. The app icon is a breakdown truck and nowhere on the app itself does it say not for cars.
I’ll try to edit the post for scooters only.I was told by my dealership that mine is due on the weekend after the 16th June, so it looks like they all should arrive about the same time.
If it does, it will be 6 months from ordering to receiving it. Though it’s double what I was promised, it is better than I expected. Happy days!
Good morning, @Sharon craven
In short, yes, your order should still be honoured.
If you go into your accounts on the Motability website, you should still see all the details of your order.
Manufacturers often stop offering some or all of their models, but this should have no effect on those already ordered.
have a nice day,
Nissan X-Trail 1.5 E-Power E-4orce 213 N-Connecta in Red
Application submitted on 16 December 2022
When ordering was told it should arrive within 3 months.
Yesterday, I was informed to expect it around 23 June 2023
Call me skeptical, but I predict it will be even longer.
@Andreea The sales guy said they were in a privileged position to expect stock imminently.
However, my factory order promise of 3-months has passed, and still I have no news when to expect it.
65.1mpg
I don’t remember where I went but it was unusually high so I took a pic
@Dave I just noticed on that page from the link you provided (further down on the page) that 5-year leases will be £350 if you order your car after 1 October 2022.
Is no one else on a 5-year lease, that is concerned about this £200 shortfall?
Thanks @ChrisK
Yes, it seemed to be unaltered for 3-year lease, but for a 5-year lease (like mine), it looks like we are being short-changed by £200.
Toyota RAV4 hybrid. Almost 5 years in, total average since having the car is 37-38mpg.
In the first year it was around 48mpg, but year on year this has dropped.
While it’s cold, sometimes a trip is around 22mpg.
Hi Adam,
I was told if I wanted black or champagne, I could get it in 1-2 weeks, but as I went with red, I was told it would more likely be within 3 months.
One month after ordering, it has still not got a chassis number, so I think it is unlikely it will be here within 3 months. I went with the N-Connecta version though.
It is always best to ask your dealer for the estimated times, but even they may be wrong.
When will this increase? Spring is a little vague, isn’t it?
I ordered a new car just a few days ago. Can I delay receiving the new car to get this increased payment? All input will be welcomed.
Thanks in advance.I ordered a red one today with no extra cost.
The dealer rep said all colours will be covered except the 2-tones.
I was told there will be some in stock, maybe next week. Either in black or champagne. I ordered a red one, which is a factory order, and was told it would arrive within 3 months.
Does anyone know if we would have to pay extra for choosing specific colours, please?
Thank you, @KSN for clarifying what I thought. I think you nailed it, they don’t “know what they’re talking about”.
Thank you, @AtoB_Dude – my next closest dealer is about 73 miles away. I really don’t think it is worth it. Though it’s a nice car, I still think the AP is a bit high, and I was already sitting on the fence, but willing to bite the bullet. This dealership has proven to be untrustworthy and unprofessional. For me, it was a sign to say no. (At least for now)
I think I shall wait, in hope, for the first quarter of 23 to see what else might pop up.
Thank you all for your reasoned responses. I hope you all have a good day.
I called our local dealer to ask them if I could have a look around one.
First, the rep told me there are no Alfas on Motability. When I insisted, he said said we have other brands but no Alfas. When I doubled down, he said he will check and get back to me. 5 minutes later, he said, the Motability guy is too busy to talk now, he’ll call you back.
I wasn’t holding my breath.
Surprisingly, about an hour later, I got a call telling me I have to wait until my lease has ended. I told him that I am already on an extension, and my hand back date is the end of March. He then insisted when I receive a letter from Motability saying I can change car, then I can change car.
I said, I’ve filled in all the applicable details in my online Motability account, and it tells me there I can apply for a new car. He said, I’ve already told you, you need that letter. When you’ve got a letter, then come back.
I asked if I don’t receive a letter until January 1st, when it’s a new quarter, can you guarantee that the car will still be available? He gave me the obvious answer, no.
So, guys, please tell me. Is the guy wrong or is my online Motability account wrong?
Hi @Twinkle toes
I’m not sure, but I’m glad you posted this, because I have a similar situation with.
Hopefully, you’ll find something helpful here:

Thanks to you all. I guess it pays to order before the new quarter then, because you can get refunded the difference if it goes down. Yet, if it goes up then you don’t have to pay the extra.
