Having run two of the boxy X Trails previously, I’m very much liking Nissan’s design shift on the model, back to a more muscular overall look.
Time will tell whether we see it on the scheme in any decent level of specification.
I’m not usually a fan of white cars so much, but the new design suits it I think …

I was liaising with Nissan UK’s Motability Account Controller today having made an enquiry recently on the X Trail coming onto the scheme.
I’ve given him some constructive feedback on the features that we see as necessary, so who knows that may impact X Trail specs offered in future. Time will tell.
On a different topic, one thing he did advise was ….
“I will possibly be able to release Qashqai e-POWER Tekna to the scheme from January 2022,”
So I know that would interest some on here if he can follow through on that. Again time will tell.
Things are moving in the right direction though guys.
Now this is what I hate about cars. I have a Tucson Ultimate on order with an AP £2,000 more than the x-trail. The Tucson does have more features but is it worth the extra money. Or should I now wait to see if the extra trim levels appear on the x-trail to match the Tucson. life is never easy
I have the petrol Ultimate, It has almost everything you need, but couldn’t justify spending £5-6k AP on the PHEV. At the time I wanted the FHEV 230 but its never come to the scheme.

If they do bring the e-power tekna qashqai on the scheme then I would have found the most suitable care for me, as long as the AP isnt something like £5000 – 6000!

funnily enough, the showroom called a few moments and said something similar that there might be more choices in the new year but did not allude to wht the choices were exactly.
hoping the x-trail AP stays the same, and the Qashqai e-power is not not overpriced if on scheme
We have a petrol Kia Sportage on order since April but delivery will not be until early next year now, so considering alternatives.
I really like the new Qashqai and X-Trail E-Power models which will provide much better fuel economy than the quite thirsty Sportage. However, the N-Connecta trim does lack some features such as heated seats, electric tailgate and wireless Android auto (only wireless Apple car play available).
I have asked the dealer if the heat pack can be added as an extra and await their response.

One things for certain they will have a far better mpg than the Sportage/Tuscon petrol. Although its worth factoring in the extra AP of the E Power above the Sportage, depending on how many miles you do.
Indeed! It sounds like we are all awaiting the Tekna trim to become available on either the Qashqai and/or the X trail, so i eagerly await to see if they come on the scheme in 2023. If they do, i will certainly be cancelling the Sportage and be ordering either the Qashqai or X trail depending on the AP’s.

We also have a Sportage GT S Line Petrol on order since May. If the X Trail Teckna E4force comes on the scheme, bye bye Sportage.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I ordered the qashqai tekna+ in oct 21 when it was on the scheme,AP was around £2695(if i remember correctly)which now seems a bargain lol.However i cancelled after 8month wait and total BS from dealer,to then order Sportage HEV..So pleased in the end nissan cannock messed me about.The nissan was nice but the 20″ wheels road noise is something to bare in mind for those who are waiting for tekna or tekna +.I think the tekna are 19″ though.</p>

I’ve had an order for a Peugeot 5008GT since Feb 2022. After constant delays , I’m told to expect delivery June 2023. That an awfully long wait. If the Trina trim comes on I’ll definitely cancel the Peugeot.Wait times are still too high for me.
Think I’ll be sticking to my plan of coming off the scheme this month. The X Trail does look decent tho if you’re prepared to wait.

If you ordered the 5008 for the boot space, 2065lts with the seats down. Then I’d stick with it, as the X-Trail, despite being a large SUV only has 1396lt capacity, with all seats down, which is only 1lt more than the Skoda Kamiq at 1,395lts. I don’t know how Nissan has managed to build a large SUV with such a small boot in comparison,
It still looks a fair load space in the current model.
I remember sleeping in our 2006 X Trail many years back. It was an impromptu camping out (without the tent). At 6’2″ I was able to sleep fully stretched out with the rear seats laid down.
I was told there will be some in stock, maybe next week. Either in black or champagne. I ordered a red one, which is a factory order, and was told it would arrive within 3 months.
I ordered a red one today with no extra cost.
The dealer rep said all colours will be covered except the 2-tones.
I think the storm white with matching roof looks quality on the X Trail, but in Tekna spec.
@Markymate – thanks for the advice. Fair point. I did notice that the boot didn’t seem much bigger than my current Tiguan R-Line. Have test drive booked in for the morning. I have two children who are wheelchair users, so boot size is the absolute priority. But I’m just really frustrated with JCT600 Peugeot for constant misinformation and delays.
I’ll be taking both wheelchairs down to Nissan tomorrow morning to see if they fit.
If you want 7 seats you can only order the mild hybrid version.

How did you get on checking out the X Trail Zaheer ? ?
I went to look at one ove the weekend and as I initially said I would want the Tecna trim or above sadly, because I liked it but, the N connecta when viewiing side by side didn’t have the what I call essentials for our needs.
What I find odd is they have used a 1.5 petrol engine that kicks in between 1600rpm-4800rpm solely as a generator for the batteries. Surely a 1.0 litre would have been more than capable for its intended use. Never the less I liked Nissans take on hybrid, how they have gone about it, which will give it essentially a pure EV driving expierience.
Is this the way to go – relying on a “generator” soley for charging the battery. I say so!
I pray the Tecna will join the scheme soon 🙂
