ParticipantHaving run two of the boxy X Trails previously, I’m very much liking Nissan’s design shift on the model, back to a more muscular overall look.
Time will tell whether we see it on the scheme in any decent level of specification.
I’m not usually a fan of white cars so much, but the new design suits it I think …

ParticipantWe had a 2017 (second gen?) X-Trail; our first (and only) SUV. The ride was not bad, and the higher view was useful. The amount of room in the back and the rear seat adjustment were fantastic. Liked the moon roof. My husband, found it easier to get in and out of, but I had difficulty in climbing in. He said the gearchange was like stirring porridge. Also, and not sure if this is a fault of the X-Trail or all SUVs, but other than slow speed corners, it always felt as if it was going to fall over, and the seats gave little or no side support when cornering. Hubby had steering wheel to hold onto, but the rest of the passenger (including me) got thrown around. Can’t comment on the off-road performance or how it performed in the snow as we didn’t have the car for long. IMHO unless you need to drive off road or often get snowed in (live on The Moors), and estate car is a much more practical proposition.

ParticipantWe’ve run 2 X Trails over the years, and loved them both.
Interesting that the new one does not have a gear box, and a very modern part electric drive train.

ParticipantIt’s primarily the seat height of an SUV which is essential for us. We’ve also had situations where 4×4 was a godsend.

Yes, I can see that. When I was working my boss used to ferry his staff to work in his Disco when the snow was bad. When we got ours, I was thinking of getting my daughter to work in the winter, but it only snowed on the day we took the picture, and we didn’t go out that day. Now I am retired, only 5ft tall and live in a big city, not really needed in my case.

ParticipantHad a 2016 Ntec Dci was really impressed with it, decent sized boot for the hiost and chair etc, easy to get inand out of anddrove well being the Ntec had had plenty of tech as well, my only complaint would have been that being the 1.6DCi auto it was a bit sluggish.
Am really intrested in the new X trail however I doubt we will being seeing on MB at a reasonable AP for sometime.

ParticipantI’m very curious to see how this X Trail drives, and just what ‘instant torque’ feels like in an SUV. I can’t quite get my head around the one pedal dealing with acceleration and breaking, but i’m staying open minded about that.

ParticipantJust had an interesting thought. When my husband got his X-Trail it was on the scheme as a medium SUV, and the 2022 Qashqai was a small SUV. Now the Qashqai is a large SUV and there are no medium SUVs or X-Trails.

GuestAgain looks a very good fit for the scheme with an option of 5 and 7 seats and a host of safety features.
What did make me smile was “It has wide-opening doors for loading child seats. People love that, Nissan’s research says.” Hmmmn, not a difficult requirement to need researching.

ParticipantExcellent candidate for the scheme, that and the Subaru Forester would make for great options no doubt.
Not holding my breath though. I think we’re a good while off seeing the X Trail available on the scheme again, and it’s anyone’s guess if Subaru and Motability can work something out going forward.
November 1, 2022 at 2:13 pm #199538Macca
GuestAfter an enquiry to Nissan it would appear they have provided information to Motability on the new XTrail, and are currently waiting on their response before establishing which models can be added to the scheme.
Sounds positive. Time will tell on AP’s of course.

ParticipantIt would be nice to see it on the scheme. But stupidly high AP’s will put it out of reach for many.

GuestFor the time being probably, but getting it on is step one. Let’s see how it pans out over time.
We’re into our third year of lease now. The likelihood is that we’ll extend, then if Subaru have not made it back onto the scheme, the XTrail is gonna get our attention.

Participantjust been told about this from a local dealer and is to be listed on the 1st of decemeber – wasnt told what specs though
November 3, 2022 at 4:16 pm #199771kezo
ParticipantIt would be nice to see it be available on the scheme in e-power or e-4orce in tecna drim. Although I doubt it given the e-power qashqai is only available in n-connecta trim with an ap of £2k. So I guess the x trail will be a hefty ap should it arrive!
November 3, 2022 at 9:49 pm #199779Macca
GuestI do think the new XTrail looks superb in white with a white roof in Tekna Spec …

ParticipantTook my X Trail in for a service last Saturday and had a good old poke around the new model (e-POWER 213 Automatic 4WD e-4ORCE Tekna+) – looks stunning but the price
for the top spec is circa 47k 🙁

ParticipantN conecta will be the highest spec on the scheme.

GuestAssuming this is the N-Connecta, it looks OK, but I wish they’d have chosen better wheels. The 5 spokes on the Qashqai N-Connecta look well, but I just think the choice for the XTrail could have been better …

ParticipantAssuming this is the N-Connecta
That looks like its got a leather interior, which would suggest its not the n-connecta?
