Having run two of the boxy X Trails previously, I’m very much liking Nissan’s design shift on the model, back to a more muscular overall look.

Time will tell whether we see it on the scheme in any decent level of specification.

I’m not usually a fan of white cars so much, but the new design suits it I think …

N conecta will be the highest spec on the scheme.

The best case I can see in the present automotive environment is the N-Connecta with the mild hybrid and if we are very lucky the Acenta Premium with E-power (2WD only).

        I am a dreadful pessimist.

Maybe not exactly, but it’s not got the chrome trim of the Tekna, and does have the N-Connecta wheels so it’s showing the exterior look of the N-Connecta at least.

It’s such a good evolution of the XTrail, I just think they could have made better choices with that spec.

But of course we all like different things too. Some may love them.

Then again, with the Ariya making it on, albeit at silly money, anything is possible …

I’d be very tempted if they did put a e-p0wer Tecna/+ on the scheme without a stupidious ap, as I now need an auto

I guess the point is the spec in the video doesn’t have the chrome trim of the Tekna, and does have the N-Connecta wheels so it’s showing the overall exterior look of the N-Connecta. Just don’t think those wheels are doing it justice given that it’s such a good evolution of the XTrail.

No sign of it yet, but we know MB and Nissan are looking at the numbers behind the scenes.

Excellent to see the new X Trail appear on the scheme. Sadly no Tekna Spec as yet, but a good start nonetheless ?

Thankfully we are not given the mild hybrid entry level engine or the entry level Visia Trim, instead we have the E-Power and E-4orce,  (2 and 4 wheel drive hybrid)  two trim lines, Acenta Premium and N-Connecta, Prices as follows:

                              E-Power: £2899 Advance Payment Acenta Premium, £3399 N-Connecta

                              E-4orce: £3399 Advance Payment Accent Premium (£3999 with 7 seats) or £3899 N-Connecta

I’m very curious to see how this X Trail drives, and just what ‘instant torque’ feels like in an SUV. I can’t quite get my head around the one pedal dealing with acceleration and breaking, but i’m staying open minded about that.

It takes a while to get used to how one pedal driving works but once you’re there you’ll only want cars with it.  If you’re one of those who accelerate hard and brake late, you’ll struggle, for the rest of us who brake gradually then it’s as easy as press to go, lift to slow down.  Some EVs will have variable rates which can do pretty much everything bar and emergency stop.

Apparently from a facebook group the new X-Trtail will be available in Acenta Premium and N-Connecta trims with both E-Power and e-4orce 4WD with APs ranging from £2,899 to £3,899 and will be on scheme from the 15th.

                                  That is some good news!

I just noticed the price X-trail N-connecta e-POWER 213  e-4ORCE  has a retail price of £41,165 so does that mean the Qashqai Tekna+ would make it to the scheme as the retail price is £40,980?

Also, does anyone know if you can add packs to the X-trail?  ideally, i would like propiloit assist / park and a power tailgate!

You can add packs but they do not cover the items you request, they are standard on the Tekna trim.

That is a shame, being almost 5ft, it going to be a challenge to close the tailgate then haah.

I wish we were able to add the other packs though, not sure why they have opted against doing this.

The standard Metallic Paints are £575, Premium paints are £745 while two tone offerings are £1095 to standard metallic and £1295 to Premium.  I suspect Motability will cover the £575 and anything else will come from your pocket.

I’m very happy to see it come on.

We’re gonna keep our XC40 for probably another 3 years as its only got just over 7000 miles on it, so it just makes sense to extend and make the most of it. But, that gives the scheme time to settle and hopefully we’ll see the Tekna Spec make it on over time, and we can then have a proper look when we’re ready to change.?

That said, if nothing changes line up wise we’d still be checking out the N-Connecta spec.

If  the Tecna had come on the scheme, I would have ordered one. The N Connecta is missing (fake) leather, heated seats and steering wheel, which would be essential for us.

The hospital have advised me to have an auto, so looking at an early termination of the Tuscon I currently have. I’m not going to jump into something that isn’t suitable. I made that mistake with the Tuscon because there was not alot on the scheme at the end of last year. Oh, and something that preferably does more than 29mpg.

Yeah, that’s a bit of an odd one.

You can’t even add heated seats to an N Connecta, nor the leather seats. Heated seats are, to me, a pretty basic amenity nowadays – while i could understand to not add it as standard (although i do think it should be), to not offer it as an optional extra is odd. Especially considering that you still can order a Bose sound system, Glass roof or an entire third row of seats.

That would disqualify the X-Trail for us as well, since heated seats are mandatory.

Shame, as I like the design direction of Nissan. I know that the ‘looks’ of a car is an entirely subjective matter, and one persons meat is another’s poison, but I think that the new Qashqai is one of the nicest looking small SUV’s on the roads whereas, to my eyes, the Kia Sportage (for example) is pig ugly ?

I have a Tucson Ultimate on order with an AP £2,000 more than the x-trail.  The Tucson does have more features but is it worth the extra money. Or should I now wait to see if the extra trim levels appear on the x-trail  to match the Tucson.
