I’ve just ran a Touran for the last three years, with the same engine. Around town we would achieve 23mpg but these were very short journey, on the longer runs motorway and A roads around 40mpg. This was acceptable for me as our annual mileage is only around 5k a year. Unfortunately there is no work around for how much fuel it’ll use. So if its getting financially difficult for you I would have a chat with motability and explain your situation and see what they can do for you.

Citreon C4 PicassoOnce Peugeot manages to replenish its stock of micro chips it should be back on the scheme, unfortunately at present there is no way of knowing, with some pretty dire predictions about how long it’ll be before car manufacturers are stocked up with said micro chips.

Citreon C4 Picasso@Lou as you say it shouldn’t effect the grant at all. Unless its a special colour then your liable for the difference. Example the metallic is £500 but they do a special red £700 so you’d have to pay the difference of £200. This would count as an extra regards the grant.
What car and colour have you chosen if you don’t mind me asking?

Citreon C4 PicassoMetallic paint is free as others have stated expect for the premium colours of the range. The grant should not make a difference as if you were paying the AP yourself you wouldn’t pay for the paint. It is motability policy and is stated somewhere.
The only thing I’d wonder is you said optional extras. Your only allowed 50% of the value of the grant you were offered to add extras or improve on what they offered.

Citreon C4 PicassoI can 100% confirm powered tailgate is not standard on Allure Premium. Remote bootlid unlocking just means it unlocks from fob and isn’t latched so you can just lift it when you get to the car.

Citreon C4 Picasso@Modcon have you checked out some YouTube vids for both cars? The press normally get cars with all options fitted to demonstrate so should have and show use of powered tailgate. Carwow, Vanorama and Autogefuel to name but a few are good.

Citreon C4 PicassoI asked my dealer to register my new car with plate but for whatever reason it didn’t get done. Probably due to getting it turned around in 12 days. Is your name on the retention certificate? As surely that shows it is yours. I said the same thing as you last time I assigned it but might of then gone on to say just always wanted one. Mine is just one of the cheapest ones so letter number combination is more what I like then spelling anything in particular.

I picked up our new car on Monday and the dealer was great. Gave us the keys and said have a look around make sure everything is all right with it and to go back to him once we were satisfied to complete paperwork and pin.

I think the ultimate sports car is said to be the Porsche 911 as an actual car defining category.
Not what on motability comes closest to a rear enginged, flat six, with rear or four wheel drive? Hmmm.

Citreon C4 PicassoNot a great choice imo as its an old school naturally aspirated petrol so doesn’t have much torque (pulling power usually) and you have to use a lot of revs, which would make it bad for fuel economy. Modern turbocharged engines produce lots of torque st low rev due to there forced induction.

Citreon C4 PicassoI think of the GTD as more of a really fast comfy long distance machine. A big heavy diesel engine out front not so good for handling. The Mini Cooper S was quite hot hatch like. But there’s definitely not much.

Citreon C4 Picasso@Markymate they haven’t really changed much of the dash, so you still get the tiny wheel and high set dials, which as you said doesn’t work for everyone. Probably out of all the manufacturers it is crucial to get a test drive of a Peugeot to ensure the cockpit works for you.

Citreon C4 PicassoThe large SUV types with 2.0 litre diesel’s in the 150hp range should be heavy and have lots of torque for towing.
I’d look into the insurance side of things as motability doesn’t cover towing and you need your own personal cover. I remember this been talked about quite a while ago.

Citreon C4 PicassoJust picked up a 5008 Allure Premium 1.2 manual in celebes blue today there was also an auto exactly the same waiting for collection as well. Ordered it on 30th March. Salesman said when ordering they had 7 coming into the country but if i missed these ones the next shipment was May. The higher powered engine’s may take longer if they don’t sell as many economy of scale and all that.

Citreon C4 PicassoGetting this tiny engine in my next car a Peugeot 5008. As a large 7 seater it may seem out of its depths but 95% driving is around town with only the family holidays involving a full very heavy car. So long as it can manage to cruise at 70mph on motorway not much else to worry about. Currently have 148bhp VW Touran which on paper looks more powerful but when you factor in the Peugeot is significantly lighter there’s not a lot in it.

Which if you then decide to change makes us look like the ones messing about, yet all we want is the best most suitable car for ourselves. Starting to wonder what’s the point of the quarterly system. Rant over.
@Gloss Guy so has the inclusion of the 2.0tsi Tiguan, made you change your mind or you sticking with the BMW?

Luckily they had four coming into the country in colour and spec I want so I get to exchange on my original lease end date. I’ve been really fortunate how everything has worked out.

Citreon C4 PicassoI went for a test drive last Monday. It was done more like a loan of a curtesy car. No charge or anything like that just giving the keys and off we went. All done outside with masks on and nobody else around, felt very safe. As opposed to walking the dog in the park on Sunday with Football back on (legally) the park had about 300 people just playing watching the games.
I guess it comes down to how you feel about it yourself. I had rang to arrange test drive after 12th April but they said we could offer you a test drive sooner if you wanted, as my lease ends on the 12th and motability allow online orders I went for it. I should now be changing on the 12th rather then starting to get test drives arranged.
