Just found some pictures of the Ecotronic “Gray” Kona on Hyundai.com website – presumably for the North American/Canadian market. They make it look more of an olive green colour to my eyes on my screen – so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see it in the flesh.
I’ll be quite happy if it does have a green hue in the pearl paint – my current car is the Seat Tarraco in Camouflage, which is basically a dark green metallic.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 16, 2022 at 8:46 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #202749@Tilleyman, my dealer claims to only have been told today. The last update I had from the Hyundai Supply Team a couple of weeks ago still said Jungle Green.
The colour itself looks like a dark grey pearl – somewhere between the Galactic Grey Metallic and Abyss Black Pearl. TBF the Jungle Green did look quite grey in certain light, so I’m not too disappointed as long as I still get the pale grey interior and I don’t get bumped to the back of the queue!
The dealer seems pretty upset as he has several outstanding orders for Jungle Green (both lease and cash sales) and he has the unenviable job of breaking the bad news. SWMBO certainly gave him both barrels!!
I agree that Hyundai are not exactly covering themselves in glory in all this.
I’ll report the matter to Motability as a matter of course but obviously don’t expect them to be able to do anything about it!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 16, 2022 at 5:43 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #202727So, having had our order placed on 27th June for Ultimate in Jungle Green (with light grey interior) pushed back 3 times already, we have now been informed by the dealer that the Jungle Green colour is no longer available (it was discontinued a few days after we placed our order) According to him, Hyundai UK have changed every order for this colour to “Ecotronic Grey”. There is no indication yet as to whether projected build dates will carry over, or whether we will go to the back of the queue!!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 1, 2022 at 2:03 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #201689So, another month passes and the delivery date for my Ultimate ordered back in June has slipped another 5 weeks. Now expected to dock in Tilbury on March 21st 2023!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVThe Renault Laguna Coupe (2008-2012) always catches my eye. Rare sight on the road these days though. The hatchback and estates were very mundane which makes the coupe even more remarkable IMO. Reminds me of Aston Martin from the rear, and looks good from all angles.
Would love to have one as a ‘weekend’ car if I could afford to own a second car!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHi @Lexie,
edit to the above, the 350 you have already received is advance GCB for your CURRENT car. Upon returning it you should get another 250 (assuming a 3 year lease) i.e. 600 in total. You will then receive your additional 250 new car payment.
Assuming that you ordered your new car before 1st October you will receive another 35o after taking delivery, and then a further 250 GCP at the end of your 3 year lease.
I said it was confusing! lol
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHi @Lexie,
did you order your new car before 1st October 2022? Presumably you did as you’re expecting delivery at the end of December, in which case you should expect the full 600 GCB on the car the you’re returning plus the 250 for ordering a new car during 2022 (850 in total)
My understanding is that the 350 that you have already received is an advance for part of the GCP for your new car. When you return your next car in 3 years time, then you will receive the 250 balance of the GCP (the same as someone ordering a new car after 1st October 2022)
There are several other threads on this topic. Information on Motability website is confusing. If I’ve misunderstood, then I’m sure someone will be along shortly to correct!
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EV@Charilaos Andreopoulos I wouldn’t get too excited – I’ve had my order for an Ultimate (placed on June 27th) pushed back twice already. Take a look at the long thread on this forum regarding the Kona delivery lead times for more insight.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EV@momo it’s Motability that organises the installation with your local supplier – I get the impression that some areas are busier than others (I’m on the North Cambs/South Lincs border and my installer was from the same village)
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EV@momo mine was fitted within a couple of weeks of ordering the car. I have the Ohme pro.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHi @Sirog,
my understanding is that you must wait for the grant to be approved before ordering, although you could get your order in and cancel later if your application is declined or you are offered a grant against a different model.
Your wife will soon get used to the automatic gearbox!
I’m sure someone else will be along shortly with a definitive answer!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHello @Storyline, TBH, if it was me, I’d seriously consider hanging on to your Ioniq if it still meets your needs and see what the future brings. IMO there’s no other BEV currently on the scheme that comes close with a sensible AP, with the possible exception of the MG4 which may be worth a look if you can live with the lack of physical buttons for controlling AC, brake regeneration etc.
I’m currently waiting for a Kona BEV (along with lots of others!) – Hyundai/Kia group are struggling to meet demand for BEV’s and I can’t see the situation easing up anytime soon especially as the Kona is due a major facelift next year.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVOctober 19, 2022 at 5:59 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #198584Hi folks, I intend contacting Hyundai UK for an update on expected delivery. Is it best to phone Hyundai head office or can you get this information using the chat function on their website?
Hi @Carmad, I believe the procedure is to email Hyundai UK Customer Services (customer.query@hyundai.co.uk) with your Hyundai reference number (begins with 1011, not your dealer order number) They will contact Supply and get back to you with an estimated delivery date.
Personally, I’d take this with a pinch of salt though as estimates seem to move backwards and forwards without explanation!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHas anyone got an advanced payment grant for the Sportage 1.6 S line my advanced payment is £2,499 and just wondering if I would be able to get help with this?
With the ‘2’ trim level Sportage being available with an AP of 999, I’m not sure that the grants team would look on any application favourably.
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVThere’s a long thread on here regarding livery lead times on the Kona EV – lots of people (including myself) awaiting delivery. Not sure if the Hybrid has the same wait time, but there’s lots of info on there regarding tracking and ship movements.
You can get build/shipping information via Hyundai UK Customer Services if you have your Hyundai order number (starts 1011 – not your dealer order #)
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVI’m sure it will all be fine!
Out of interest, which car did you decide to go for?
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVAh yes, I see. It is the same document I believe but confusing that the Government website uses different terminology! I guess we shouldn’t be surprised!
In this case, you will need to take the document with you to the dealership so that they can sort it out – assuming that it’s a brand new car and not one that has been previously registered. If it’s been previously registered, the dealer may be able to sort the VED out by changing the class to ‘disabled’ or you may have to go to a Post Office that does VED.
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVIf you’ve ordered through Motability then you will have shown this when ordering the car so you should not need to show it again when collecting.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVSeat Ateca is similar to Karoq – built on the same VAG platform, but available with lower AP’s on some models. I currently have the slightly larger Tarraco, but this again is no longer available on Motability.
The Arona is also worth a look if you do decide to visit a Seat dealer.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVOctober 6, 2022 at 8:35 pm in reply to: what to do? is there anything on the scheme to suit? #197720If you have a private driveway, Motability will install an EV charge point for free. The Peugeot E2008 or Vauxhall Mokka may be suitable if range is not too much of an issue, although both have long wait times at the moment – you can still extend your current lease while you wait.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVOctober 6, 2022 at 4:30 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #197704Not bad, 7 months from order to delivery.
Indeed, but I’m not taking this for granted! I’ll wait until I see it on the dealer forecourt before getting too excited!!

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVOctober 6, 2022 at 4:24 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #197702Ultimate in Jungle Green with light interior (popular combination it seems!) ordered 27/06/22 with original dealer estimate delivery end December. Just received update from Hyundai UK Supply stating that build due to be completed 31/10/22 and arriving Tilbury 03/01/23. Allowing 2 weeks for prep and then transfer to dealer, I’m hoping to get it by the end of January!
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVI ordered my Sportage in March, was told it would be a 9 month wait. That has come and gone and still no sign of it?
Surely 9 months from March would be December delivery?
