ParticipantHi all.
Just trying to see what most people have been told what there waiting times are at the moment. Mine was ordered on the 1st of April (I had been waiting for the Sportage as it had been rumoured to be in this quarter) I was told September for the gtline s hybrid FWD by the dealer but I’m not sure to believe that!
What have others been told?

Hi, ordered a GT line S HEV on Friday 8th April and was told 6-9 months but would be more than likely be more towards the 9 months.

ParticipantI’m so tempted with this car, but the mpg on motorway is quite poor.
Also not sure if my interest is mostly due to it being one of the best cars on Motablity at the moment, rather than it being one of the best cars for the money if I was a private buyer.

Well I can tell you now out of the 20 odd cars I’ve test driven in the last 3 years (including xc40 and cla) I can tell you this one is the best of the lot interms of comfort for me. It has an absolutely wonderful spec sheet and looks beautiful. You are correct about the motorway even the dealer told me the same thing but you can get the Sportage mild hybrid diesel which would be good for that sort of journey.

sorry gt line s not 2 lol

Well on the Kia’s you don’t really have “extras” per say it’s just mostly have colour changes and accessories (like footmats and bootmats).
My ap was 3999 plus 150 for the two tone premium paint.

Wasn’t confident the Sportage would appear on the scheme, so early this year decided to leave – Placed an order for a lease car on 3rd February, will be taking delivery tomorrow …. Financially not a terrible choice; HEV GT Line S AWD, (not on scheme) for £2.8K upfront / £320 per month

Participant@Rob not too bad financially, plus only a 2 month wait.

ParticipantIf ordered this week, the specialist stated a December arrival after I had a 1hr test drive in a Sportage GT-Line S HEV this morning.

Nice!
How did you find the test drive? Did you check the mpg? Curious that’s all haha

Sometimes wander if these delivery times estimates are inflated so the dealer hopes some walk away.To make way for private. We have a july and a december delivery times within few days of each other ordering/showing interest.
I ordered ‘4’HEV on the 4th of April, was told July, week later dealer emailed saying august/sept .

I was looking to upgrade in July from Nissan Qashqai to the Sportage loads of options were listed on the April 1st motablilty scheme update but it now seems to have dissapeared
Craig
It’s still on the scheme but Motability have took it off the website due to them getting details on the versions available wrong. Dealers can still place orders. The info on Kia’s website on what is on the scheme is correct.
Tom
I’m expecting it to be pushed back to be honest but hopefully not! Went dark penta as the one in the showroom was the exact one we ordered, the GTs would of been nice for the added gadgets and such but AP slightly out of bounds for us this time around.

Ordered on 11/4/22 – White with black roof (cost +£150 extra). Was told AWD is not available on the scheme.
Been told by two separate dealers that it will take 6 months i.e. around September but the dealer was not optimistic and said it will be closer to the end of the year. One dealer told me that some orders are being pushed forward so that is encouraging.

Pencilled in for 18th August, ordered 1st April, for a ‘4’ AWD diesel. I laughed, he laughed and we both did the Homer Simpson ‘yeah’. I feel like it might be a 40th birthday surprise next April.
I found a site that gives lead times for manufacturers which stated 6 months+ for kia but that will obviously be geared to private sales if its even accurate.

That’s alright, haha. I’m used to driving crossovers so this was rather unusual. Even with the seat at its lowest setting, I was still perched up with the top of the steering wheel aligned with the top of my sternum.
Naturally, the steering wasn’t particularly communicative, even in ‘Sports’ mode but the car did ride surprisingly comfortably, absorbing small bumps with aplomb. Ergonomically, apart from a few centre console buttons facing more towards the front passenger, the haptic buttons and actual buttons and knobs were logically laid out.
With a mixture of high-speed (60mph) driving and low-speed (30mph) driving, numerous gradients, and speed bumps, I achieved 40.2mpg with the climate control on as it was warm. The vehicle picked up speed quite quickly, making me believe it’s 0-62mph time of around 8 seconds.
I did criticise the powertrain as I found the petrol engine to be quite coarse when the electricity was depleted but together, the system worked seamlessly alongside the gearbox. In EV mode, there’s a rather irritating ‘whirring’ noise from the motors. The ‘Remote Parking’ feature is cool but it’s a shame you can’t steer the vehicle in any direction; back and forth only.
Small niggles such as the loud bleeping noise coming from electric bootlid, the mechanical noise from the electric folding door mirrors, and questionable dashboard plastics (behind the monitors) ruin the overall refinement for me.
