Just received update from Hyundai UK Customer Service to say that my order for Ultimate placed on 27th June 2022 has been pushed back another 2 months. Now due to complete build on 11th June 2023 and arrive Tilbury 3rd August!
With production of the new model due to start imminently I think Hyundai are just trying to push people into cancelling their orders.
Fortunately, I’m quite happy with the car that I have (other than the saving that I could be making on fuel) so I’ll stick it out until the bitter end and see what happens.

what colour did you receive in the end? If I remember right you order the Surfy Blue and had your order changed to Ecotronic Grey? Could you post a picture or two please?
I ordered Ultimate in Jungle Green on 27th June and been pushed back to July delivery.
Cheers, and enjoy your new car!

Morning Prosperity is due to leave Ulsan tomorrow, and scheduled to arrive at Tilbury on 27th March.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDon’t worry @Rachel, you will only pay the AP that was applicable at the time that you ordered. Many AP’S have increased over the last year due to the buoyant car market caused by chip shortages etc.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHi @Paul
IMO if the car that you want is on the scheme now, and you’re happy (or at least ok) with the AP, I’d book a test drive and order it asap. Cars are coming and going from the scheme daily and there’s no guarantee that the car you want will be still on the scheme in April. If the AP should drop in April, most dealers will be happy to amend the paperwork so that you pay the lower amount, but if not, at least you got the car you wanted.

Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVHi @Robert+Dobson, presumably the 250 is the part payment for good condition bonus on the car that you have returned? The 750 new car payment should follow shortly I’d expect.

After being told by my dealer that delivery had been bumped again to July 2023 (and colour changed from Jungle Green to Ecotronic Green) Hyundai Customer Services have given me a build completion date of 17th April with arrival at Tilbury on 18th June.
I’m just hoping that there are no further push-backs now that the order books are closed.

Let us know how you get on with Motability as lots of us are in the same position. Hyundai UK Customer Care team have stopped responding to my emails so I’m relying on info. from my dealer.

The only very slight grumble is the charging point flap on front spoils the aesthetic for me – I’d have preferred it on the rear quarter or even front wing.
Hate the chunky black cladding around the wheel arches on the ICE variants – it’s not an ‘off-roader’!!
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EV@Joejoe – I tend to rely on the rear view camera and parking sensors whilst reversing – I find it uncomfortable to twist my neck around to look out of the rear window. For me it’d be more of an issue on dual carriageways and motorways when changing lanes etc. although blind spot warning systems and collision avoidance systems are now available on many new cars.
I tend to worry more about what’s in front of me rather than behind! Am I bad?
Sean
Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EV@Jojoe I’m not sure how much of an issue the lack of a rear wiper is – it’s been suggested that the bootlid spoiler helps prevent spray from fouling the back window (maybe someone with an MG4 could give their observations)
For me, the deal breaker is the lack of physical buttons for climate control, brake regeneration etc. I can’t cope with having to scroll through multiple menus whilst on the move!

Ultimate ordered on 27th June 2022 is now expected to arrive July 23rd 2023 (not sure if this is at port or dealership) Also seems to think that it will be the current MY23 model rather than the next generation.
I’m awaiting further information from Hyundai UK Customer Services which I hope may shed more light on the matter.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 30, 2022 at 7:17 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #203885I am hoping some kind person can give me some guidance. I have not yet used a public charging point, only charging at home and it fills me with dread. I have now got a Myhyundai RFID card but still do not know which chargers I can use or how to use them. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I have to make some long journeys in the new year and will need to charge somewhere.
Hi Neville, you’ll find some sound advice on the speakEV forum which has a whole section devoted to charging and you’ll be able to ask questions to a much wider EV audience.
You can find a map of chargers where you can use your MyHyundai card on their website hyundai.co.uk under the heading ‘Charge My Hyundai’
My advice would be;
1. Have a trial run at a public charge point close to where you live to get a feel for the process.
2. Get another RFID card from a provider such as Octopus Electric Universe Juice card as an alternative if your Hyundai card or Debit Card don’t work.
3. Plan your journey carefully using a route planner such as Zap-Map or ABRP (A Better Route Planner)
4. Always have a ‘plan B’ should your chosen charger be unavailable/broken, and ensure that you have enough range left to reach it.
5. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice if you do have any difficulty – most EV drivers will be only happy to help out.
Hope that helps.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVI think we’ll just have to be patient and see how it pans out. There’s lots of speculation on the long ‘Kona Delivery Time’ thread on this forum if you would like to check it out.

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 28, 2022 at 9:50 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #203613My worry is that we may be offered the new model, but in a lower spec. than ordered because of the anticipated price increase for the bigger car. I understand that this happened when Kia updated the Niro recently – people that had ordered the old ‘4’ spec. were offered the new ‘2’ spec. instead (I think I read that on this forum)

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 26, 2022 at 8:16 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #203513So apparently we’ve been pronouncing it wrong all these years and Hyundai must now be pronounce “Hun day” instead instead of “Hi hun dye”!?

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 23, 2022 at 6:58 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #203346I see that a banner has appeared on the Hyundai website stating that they are not accepting any more factory orders for the current model, so now only available from Stock or ‘Pipeline’ (whatever that means?)

Current car Hyundai Kona Ultimate EVDecember 20, 2022 at 9:37 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #203033Personally, I think all current orders will eventually be honoured and can’t see the new revised model being offered instead. The current Kona was removed from the Motability scheme about 5 months ago, and my local Hyundai dealership is still taking retail orders for the current model.
I can imagine circumstances where current orders might get cancelled altogether by Hyundai, or specifications/colours changed before production is halted.
If the new model is added to the scheme, I can see the AP’s being much higher than previous, and doubt that the EV will make it onto the scheme unless it has a ridiculously high AP like the Nissan Ariya and new Renault Megane.
Agree that the new Kona looks great – but anticipated price increases may just be prohibitive in the current economic climate.
