@Gideon, may I ask whereabouts in the country you are? I’m about 400 miles from Tilbury and I’m trying to gauge how long it will take the transporter to head up to Scotland!
February 21, 2023 at 3:54 pm #209986We collected our Kona today, pretty much three weeks to the day since it arrived in the country. We got incredibly lucky to get an absolute diamond of a motability specialist who helped us to get someone else’s cancelled order (incredibly quickly judging by some of the wait times I’ve seen here). Really happy with the car so far, it’s a lovely smooth ride, really quite speedy off the mark. My wife’s absolutely in love with it.
Excellent news! Very pleased for you. What colour did you get? It is really good news to hear that there is movement at Tilbury of the Konas that came in on the Boheme. Hopefully it will not be too long before I am getting to know my mine. Enjoy your Kona.

February 22, 2023 at 11:21 pm #210128So after 8 months and nearly 14,000 miles of ev driving in my Kona premium I’ve just done some maths based on fuel consumption on my old Ioniq based on an average of 167.99p per litre since I got my car last June. I’ve saved nearly £1500. I’m generally getting about 3.2m/KwH which consists mainly motorway driving with some city driving mixed in. Although I did a journey today of 64 miles and averaged 3.8 m/KwH. I’m very happy with my car and can’t wait for more of you to get your delivery so you can experience this brilliant car. Happy motoring!!!

Only five more long months to go

Your dealership will be able to help with that or you can contact Hyundai UK who will check with the Supply Team if your build has gone ahead.

Warren DixHi everyone my first post in the Forum. Thought I would give other members a insight into my experience with ordering my replacement for my current Motability vehicle (VW Golf auto). We decided after much deliberation to take the EV path for our next vehicle. Car ordered Hyundai Kona Ultimate 64kwh May 2022 and told to expect delivery around December 2022 great news ?. Contacted our dealership in August(I know early) so we could prepare our current car for valet and service before pick up. We were then advised car delayed but had info sheet on biuld/shipping/delivery (see attached sheet)date end of March 2023. Bit of a hiccup but grateful to get a Motability car, so set back and waited until February 2023. Contacted our dealer again for us to prepare valet and service as before on current vehicle. Unfortunately been told delayed again until July 2023 but dealer cannot guarantee date.
Hope this picture gives other members some insight into process of ordering Motability car in current climate.

Jameshello,
our Kona electric has been in tilbury since early January but still hasn’t been delivered to our dealership. The delivery dates seems to move back every week. Is this normal compared to other people’s experience? Is there a way of tracking it?
February 25, 2023 at 11:21 am #210353
NigelWell I wasn’t going to enquire on delivery anymore after being pushed back until july.
But I did
Wish I hadn’t.
Now told it’s been pushed back again. November 2023 is the latest update. That will be 15 months from order.
Feeling a bit sad

desBig test for the Kona tomorrow. I will be driving from cairnryan to Glasgow about 170 mile round trip. Plus I’ll do about 10 miles in Belfast.
Full charge the other day give me 230 range which is more than enough but… I will have 4 fairly large passengers. So it will be interesting to see how that effects range. Plenty of chargers around where I’m going and I’ve a few hours to pass so not worried about range, just how the weight will effect it.

CHOWARTH576ordered mine in June 2022 supposed to be here this week I’m really trying to be patient.

AllenWell, I decided to chase about my order (again). Only to be told it should be ready for collection next week! Ofcourse I’m happy but why does it take me to keep on at them for any scrap bit of info or update. It’s only because of this forum I knew what and where to ask about my order. I think my dealer was a bit taken back. The service has been frustrating to say the least. Oh well, I got to choose my number plate. Must focus on the good news…..
A friend ordered a Kia Nero in July and took delivery last week. Had a go in it today. What a stunner of a motor. Dash looks just like the 2024 Kona. It’s beautiful.
Anyway… Will update with a pic when I (finally) get my Kona. Still not sure what colour it’s going to be but at this stage, I’ll take whatever.
Date ordered: May2022

Last Car: Toyota C-HR Excel Hybrid...4 way 80kg hoistMarch 2, 2023 at 10:56 am #213587Last night I charged to 100% battery in preparation for a long trip. The car shows 297 miles, which the computer calculates from an average of the previous weeks driving. If it is showing almost 300 at the end of meteorological Winter, hopefully the mid 300´s will return in spring?
March 2, 2023 at 11:43 am #213601mine was fully charged the other day.. said 309 i think which was 2 down on last time

Last Car: Toyota C-HR Excel Hybrid...4 way 80kg hoistMarch 2, 2023 at 1:17 pm #213643I’m now officially a Hyundai Kona owner. Seven months from order to delivery, in the grand scheme of things not too long. Drove 20 miles home, enjoyed that journey. Fatigue meant I never did much to setup the car but I’ll get round to it today. Thought my last car (SEAT Tarraco) was quite tech laden but the myriad of options available is mind blowing.
Exciting times.
March 2, 2023 at 1:35 pm #213650Very pleased for you – enjoy your car, learning all the setting, deciding which is best for you and becoming a bit of a geek like the rest of us ????
March 2, 2023 at 1:36 pm #213651Hi @Carmad,
what colour did you receive in the end? If I remember right you order the Surfy Blue and had your order changed to Ecotronic Grey? Could you post a picture or two please?
I ordered Ultimate in Jungle Green on 27th June and been pushed back to July delivery.
Cheers, and enjoy your new car!
