Hi, I ordered my first car (Hyundai Kona Hybrid) back in early May and have been told it is expected at the dealers by the end of this month.

Is there anyone else expecting a Hyundai in this time frame, I’d be interested to learn which ship / dock it may arrive.

There’s a long thread on here regarding livery lead times on the Kona EV – lots of people (including myself) awaiting delivery. Not sure if the Hybrid has the same wait time, but there’s lots of info on there regarding tracking and ship movements.

You can get build/shipping information via Hyundai UK Customer Services if you have your Hyundai order number (starts 1011 – not your dealer order #)

We ordered an i20 at the end of July and it arrived in the dealership today. This is roughly 10 weeks from ordering to delivery which is pretty good given the current market shortage.

That’s great news Steve. I have an i20 Ultimate on order for my daughter (private purchase). The dealer had originally said 8 months, but mentioned that an order for another customer had arrived unexpectedly after just 3 months. We ordered about 3 weeks ago and the dealer is saying that the Hyundai system is currently showing late December, although I remain sceptical!

Ours is an Ultimate as well. Initially, they said officially May 2023 but likely pre Christmas.  Coming in a few months early is quite a bonus.

I believe it is because the cars are fully loaded with no extras, so they can churn them out in just in colour variants. It was the same a few years ago with the Mazda 3’s I got for my other children – a special offer for the top spec models, no extras and a choice of dark grey or black. Simple!

Motability should take note and do a deal with the brands to reduce the combinations (e.g. 12 models of the Arona) of models with very little difference between them to get a better price.

I was lucky, I found one in stock. I had to go from Brighton to Coventry twice. Once to order and once to pick it up. So Friday I picked up my i20 Ultimate in white with a black roof. So far I’m over the moon with it.

Pleased to hear it Steve. My daughters is a factory order and the date to dealer has come forward to 10th Dec, which would be less than 3 months from when we ordered. We shall see! She chose the white with the black roof & mirrors as well. Suits the car.

I didn’t get an opportunity to drive one but daughter did and she said it was  much better to drive than her 1.2 Zetec Fiesta which is highly rated.  The high level of standard equipment on the Ultimate and the low AP make it a very attractive option.

I ordered the Tuscon Ultimate back in January and it arrived in under 3months. As @steve say ultimate spec is second to none.

As I understand it ICE and hybrids come through quicker than an EV does.  Also, you use to beable to get the 10 digit internal order number from your dealer and ask Hyundai UK for a more accurate delivery date, but that might have changed.

Yes you still can @kezo Following the tip from @junglegreen I contacted the dealer supplying my daughters i20 Ultimate and asked for the order number. He sent me a screenshot (it does still begin with 1011) showing all the dates from build, dispatch, shipping, PDR, transportation right through to delivery.

As I have said countless times on this forum, it is always essential to chase dealers for this level of detail with every car order right from the start. Many people don’t realise that what shows on the Motability system isn’t an order. In almost every case where people have waited longer than others for a car to arrive, it’s because the dealer sat on the paperwork for months before they placed the order with the manufacturer, usually because they are waiting for build allocations. The only way to know for certain that a car has actually been ordered is to get hold of this info.

I ordered the i20 premium early august and have been told I probably won’t get it till early next year.

Shocking if Hyundai can’t deliver an i20 within 3 months, nor does it hold much hope for the rest of the range.

Have you been online to see if their is any stock vehicles available at other dealers, they will let you have?

                              • I order the Hyundai i10 premium automatic less than 2 wks ago, they had one in the system but in a different colour but if I chose it then it would arrive faster.. don’t know if it was a cancellation or not but within 3 days the car had been brought forward by 2 months .. I’m hoping it comes much sooner than April 2024 which is the estimate I was given .. my daughter ordered a Peugeot and she’s recieving it in less than 2 and a half months …

Thanks for the info Glos Guy, I never thought about that at the time of ordering my Ioniq 6 and I am not really wanting it until the given date of April, but will ask the dealer for the number, so I can keep an eye on it nearer the time, as by the start of next year I will be interested to know at what stage my car and delivery is at and even now, I want to know if it has actually been ordered with Hyundai.

Kezo, they could have given me one of two RWD Ultimate’s they had in stock, but not in the colour’s I want. So the October order will take until April (although I would not be surprised if it is sooner as it is a standard car without any optional extras, as the only OE’s could be camera mirrors and colours), to get a factory car with my interior and interior colour. They could have got one in the country in Ultimate Red but with a Black interior, but not the Grey interior.

But I am perfectly happy to wait until the better weather comes in (hopefully) in April and also it should be a 24my car, which also gives them a little more time to rectify any design problems with it being a relatively new car on the market.
