It was probably just a typo. An awful lot gets put out without being properly checked these days. You only have to read the tick-a-tape strip that scrolls across news programs and things to see it!
I’ll believe it when I, in this case, don’t see it (them)!
Well I used to get around on bicycles then mopeds and then motorbikes.
November 12, 2019 at 3:24 pm in reply to: I saw a new land rover discovery and it looked like a ceramic paint coating. #96244Well they do do a variety of finishes.

Vinalspin, it’s possible the rifter isn’t a volume seller and they probably only tool up for them every so often. I had similar with the Sharan I’ve just taken delivery of.
You won’t have a gap per se, you’ll just stay in your current car and give it to your Pug dealer when you pick your rifter up.
I liked the 5008 and 3008 while I was looking but overall preferred the C5 Aircross.
SpinalB, absolutely, the more we share and say the better for all.
Good idea Joss.
Finally ready. Picking her up this Thursday afternoon!
Glad you’re enjoying your choice Steve. Ultimately that’s the bit that matters. Yes, that chrome blue is attractive. Let us know after some more miles what you are averaging.
We’ll see. Easy come easy go. Make a change if do ‘Luck in’ a bit, doesn’t seem to happen very often! Lol
Yes, I saw it said applicable from 15 August, interestingly I had an auto text on16th Aug telling me that build week had been confirmed and then another on 14th September saying it had progressed to in transit. So I’m pretty sure mine was built between those two dates, lol.
Well I do remember back in May/June when we ordered the SE Nav did have lumbar on passenger side (both seats had manual lumbar adjust, like our old Golf had had) because it’s a must for me as driver or passenger.
See it’s got ACC now as well, pretty sure it only had not etc cruise when we ordered.
BigDave and eame64, mmmm those Mk1 grannys are lovely. I had a Mk2 Capri 3.0 Ghia auto when I was 18 or 19. I’d have that one back like a shot!
BigDave, that’s interesting. I can’t fully remember but I’m pretty sure SE Nav only had manual drivers seat when I originally ordered. Hopefully a few more things have made it on as standard for the Autumn update?
Original Range Rover for me. If it’s good enough for the Louvre it’s good enough for me ?
And in said level playing field I’d be able to drive it despite it being only available in manual!
Hi Teapea, I went for Indinium Grey (or something like that). The choice of colours wasn’t very exciting, which is unfortunate because some other VW models come in some lovely colours.
I had an 11 plate Golf 1.4tsi DSG and the computer averaged about 39.8 over the three years, and I was never very conservative with the right foot! With the extra bulk of the Sharan I would imagine an avg of 32 or similar?
Unfortunately I don’t get mine til next week or so, but I’d be amazed if it didn’t! The one in the golf certainly did. No worries I’d say.
Indinium Grey? Some shade of boring anyway, lol.
Had text from VW yesterday saying 7of7 car arrived, and call from dealer this morning confirming.
Just needs to go down the road to have a Lodgesons unit fitted and then it’s mine!
Going to Devon last weekend of the month so hoping but knowing my luck he’ll ring me when I’m down there saying “it’s ready”.
October 12, 2019 at 6:40 pm in reply to: UK road pricing inquiry planned as electric cars threaten a £40bn tax black hole #91369Well surely the answer is to take a retrograde step and rename ved back to Road Tax, then electric cars can pay as well. Oh, and they go back to using the revenue to actually provide and maintain the roads as well!
Well, given that issue of my Td Sharan is imminent, my next car won’t be for a full three years.
I’d like to think that by then a) there will hopefully be a range of EVs with a reliable 200+ range and b) a good number of them will be on the scheme.
If so, then I think I’d definitely be happy going for an EV, not sure I’d purchase one privately but on the scheme certainly.
I’m out in the sticks, most dealers here tend to check how much fuel it’s got in it, hand you the keys and wave you off.
Definitely a smear over Motability though, seemingly minimum effort and a “well, it’s not like they’re buying it and I’m not coining commission so can’t be arsed” attitude.
As Brian and Philjb have mentioned, can sometimes be an issue on AWD systems, but that is primarily from different rolling radius of tyres, as opposed to tread pattern etc. Freelander 1 is renowned for needing newest tyres (largest) on the rear and a max of 5mm diff between rear and front and never have fronts remotely larger than rears.
Solid choice Theo. Like JS says, lot of car for not much money. I’m just about to hand back a Kuga Tit-X 2.0tdi Auto AWD and gotta say, no complaints about the car itself at all. Done 60k+ as well, so it’s had a thorough test!
